Been using DUI since the early 90's!! Great stuff!! Speaking of stickers, when I took out my first hotrod ('78 Malibu) in the late 80's, I was driving through what we called at the time, "the gut" (yes I know, everyone called their hot spot, "the gut"), it was where all the hotrodders hung out at night, showing off their cars and trucks, and setting up races. I had been spending money and working on my '78 Malibu, had hopped up the 305ci, and it was a pretty good runner. (ran about 12.80's or so.) I don't remember what stickers they were, Jegs or Summit or P.A.W., but I had just slapped a couple on the two rear side windows. When driving through the gut that night I heard someone yell out: "Does it go as fast as the stickers!!". Well, at I think 22 years old at the time, that hit me in the feels, and damaged my pride a bit!! Needless to say, I have never put stickers on any of my cars since then, not even on my 9 second S10 bracket car (truck)!! Never have since, never will again!! It never fails... every time someone pulls out some hotrod stickers, the first thing I hear in my head is: "Does it go as fast as the stickers!!" Funny... the things that stick with you... (no pun intended) 😉
I love those HEI Distributors on a Chevy they just work so good he probably got the one with a high voltage coil can't say they didn't box that stuff up safe as a huge box for a coil in a distributor LOL sure love your little hot rod keep up the videos I'll keep watching thanks a lot
I'll be changing my el cheapo Amazon A-Team distributor out nothing but headaches. Engine could never rev past 4500 at WOT with lunati bracket master cam with matching springs. Module died out I changed with another El cheap Amazon HEI module cuts out at 4000 like it's hitting a rev limiter. Needless to say cheap isn't always best lesson learned.
I guess if it's in an old trash truck that gets driven a 100 miles a year it would be ok. Other then that It's better to spend the money on good stuff the first time.
The best part is Ol Crow will be running, stickers are a bonus! Lmao don't get your alternator out of timing jk. Great video I'm middle aged but didn't even know you could get a high performance distributer. Everyone talks about high performance cams and carbs but not so much distributors so I learned something new!! Thanks Anthony
The control modules still need replace every few years
Great information, good stuff thanks!!
