    BROOKLYN SAINT MICHAEL! Thank you for finally addressing my question on fish. My favs are trout and perch. Although bass doesn’t seem to be an option, I’m glad there are other options that I can consume. The information you provide is impeccable. Not only did you provide the name of each fish, you explained meticulously the environment that it is best suited for. Have a good day and continue in your success. 👍👍👍❤️

    The President of the Republic of South Africa recently said in his State of the Nation 2019 Address and I quote.
    ""In line with our Framework for Skills for a Changing World, we are expanding the training of both educators and learners to respond to emerging technologies including the internet of things, robotics and artificial intelligence.
    Several new technology subjects and specialisations will be introduced, including technical mathematics and technical sciences, maritime sciences, aviation studies, mining sciences, and aquaponics."

    I'm thinking of trying white sturgeon for caviar production, what do you think about that? I'm located in Northern California, there are quite a few white sturgeon farms around here.

    I'm in Orlando I'd like drive to buy some tilapia rather than having them shipped to me, where do you buy yours from? With that chain around your shoulder you look like my 1986 G.I. Joe Cobra BATS Action Figure. I know, I'm a little older than you...

      I usually get my tilapia at a local spot in st Augustine called tilapia depot. The gentleman there named Mark is a good guy and helpful and he allows pickup.

    Dude, this is a knowledge that needs to be easily spread around. I've been watching your videos for weeks to learn the most I can and it has been very useful and appreciated. Being broke myself, I find it difficult to be purchasing a lot of books surrounding Plant Biology, Fish Biology, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, plumbing and architecture. Even more so to buy tools and equipment. If it wasn't for my work providing me with funds for tools and supplies I would never have had the opportunity to build my first Set up. Knowing you have a book with your specific insight is amazing, but are you aware that this book you said was limited edition is currently going for $250 USD on amazon?! I very much want to get into this trade as someone who sees this as a stepping stone to a better future. Do you think you would be willing to Make another batch of these Manuals and sell them at an affordable price? I recognize and appreciate the hard work you put into this and your craft, however Passing along wisdom to the next generation to make change is priceless. No one wants to be a Biscuit Headed Grower, and everyone wants a better future for our children.

    Nevada Department of Wildlife prohibits most food fish for aquaponics systems. Unless one is willing to pay for a commercial food fish license. So for us in Nevada, we are stuck with using normal "pet" fish that aren't adeuate enough for human consumption. So what I'm doing is setting up an ecosystem so I can grow fish that I can then feed to my chickens as a way to lower feed costs to zero. Hence I focus on live breeders such as Gambusia (mosquito fish), goldfish and quick breeding cichlids that can handle temperature shifts from 40-100F.

      I live in NM and have plans to do a system like you're talking about. As another link in our permaculture family farm.
      Right now we have a veg/fruit system with koi and a dual root zone system for medical cannabis.
      Id like to ask you a bunch of questions!

    Hey Brooklyn I enjoy your videos and the info is greatly appreciated. I'm wanting to change my small hydroponic setup over to aquaponic but instead of fish I want to use giant freshwater prawns. Have you heard of anyone using these instead of fish? What are your thoughts? They mature from post larvae to harvest in under six months and are typically fed catfish food and vegetable matter. Thanks

    What if i wanted to raise shrimp, lobster, and crawfish in my Aquaponics system but in separate tanks. Can any of these fish be used for such a system.? How can i adjust temps if i live in a mix climate like PA as we do get warm and cold weather here.? Does every vegetable plant work well under Aquaponics system or which ones do not work well.?

    I’m using tropical pet store fish in a 60 gallon aquarium for some mixed greens and herbs I’m growing on my wall. I’d like to use larger fish and try to grow hops and brew a beer using aquaponics since I haven’t heard of anyone else that has.

    How do handle fish when your in an area that has a full range of temperature like New York/New jersey for rainbow trout. winters can be sub zero... summers above 100. Spring and summer being the time you want fish to produce for your garden. can tanks be heated? cooled?

    what do you have to say about pirarucu? is it good for aquaponics?

    • @cliff7634
      @cliff7634 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can use them as well. His list he talked about was in no means complete. That is why Brooklyn said to look in your area to what you can have with in regulations or can get with a regulation license or just for your self or commercial. See how these fish do not just for temp but PH, pop density, food, how much light they will need, time to harvest, diseases and so on. Know all you can about what you want to grow it will make you life easier to enjoy the experience.

    Bluefin?

    • @cliff7634
      @cliff7634 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blue-fin is a tuna a salt water species. if just doing a fish farm then you can grow what ever species you want or can get by regulations. But if in Aquaponics setup you have veggies as well so all fish need to be fresh water.

    How important is lightning for these types of fish do they need a day/night cycle? Scale 1-5

    • @cliff7634
      @cliff7634 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yes all fish need light in order to feed proper. for max growth rate of Tilapia they need 16 to 18 hours a day along with other things. other fish may need less. This is why you must look into what you want or can have in your area and know what it takes to grow and harvest. The video would be way to long to cover all that is needed for each fish species. There are thousands to choose from.
