I have a preliminary design and have been working out specifics on materials with my major dilemma being tank shape. was debating being frugal and going with a modded IBC tote or the round tank... pretty much settled now on just sucking it up and dropping the cash on the round. it’s more structurally sound anyway...

    Great truth my friend on this video and the one that you made after this one.i had an Aquaponics Farm until about a year ago and moved back to hydroponics. I had several hundred fish for a while but I couldn’t get it to scale out to my commercial aspirations without a great deal of frustration. I know others have done it but I was too impatient. I run about 12000 square feet of greenhouses hydroponically. Sounds like you have a bead on things my friend. Love your videos!

    This is the best aquaponics video I've ever seen Bar None I mean I haven't started my system yet I've been trying to gather information over the last year the begin to start one and this is a game-changer I like what he says as far as DIY because I live in a neighborhood where we want things to look high class I don't live in a neighborhood where there's million-dollar homes but I live in a neighborhood that has $400,000 homes so I live in a nice neighborhood and I want things to look really good

    Hi, I'm currently having my aquaponic system setting up. Just want to know whether I should covered up my bio filter for bacteria to grow in the dark or should I expose it to sunlight. Any ideal environment for the bacteria to grow in order to maximise nitrate in the system. Thanks.

    Hello there, great video, love your energy ! I've one question though. I've heard that phosphorus (one of the 16 nutrients if I remember correctly) is becoming increasingly hard to find due to its consumption by traditional farms, which is raising concern as we heavily rely on it. I thought aquaponics could solve this issue, but if I understood your video correctly it isn't the case, right ? Do you know a way to produce phosphorus in an aquaponic system?

    Hi Brooklyn Saint Michael. I have set up my aquaponic system and all i need to do now is to the plumbing. I have two fish tanks both 1000l each and therefore i am going to have an overall 2000l/hr flow rate. I am going to be using the exact SLO as you are in my fish tanks and I was wondering what pipe sizing I should go for for my SLO in my fish tanks and my system?

    hi. if nitrate is only one of the 16 macro nutrients needed by plants, do we have to supply the other 15 if fish waste cannot provide? thanks for this video, really heplful, more power to you show Brooklyn.

  • @Peterblack12
    @Peterblack12 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The media bed works fine just depends on what medium you're using. I would agree that it is not smart to use just that.
    Get a swirl filter,
    Then get a bio filter, put prawn or crawfish in your bio filter.
    Get a growbed, use clay pebbles for your medium, put red wrigglers in the medium.
    The more biodiversity the better.
    Watch out for pickle worms when growing plants from the Cucurbitaceae family.

    I don't get it🤔
    I thought the water in the fish tank goes to a bunch of filters and then to the grow beds which then goes to the sump tank. And from the sump tank to the fsh tank.
    But when you Start talking about the sump tank, you seem to imply that the waters in the sump tank are distributed to various grow beds and not to the fish tank?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
    Can you get my doubt cleared please?
