I think the Hamilton Family are at the top of the best Christian singing groups in our country. Their voices blend so well together and you can understand their words. You mean without excess emphasis on rhythm, right? This is music that is contemporary because it was just created.
"Contemporary Music" is music about God that seeks to adapt itself to the standards of the world's music styles. Read very carefully; the Israelites first began to adapt themselves to the nations around them and within generations had become completely pagan - to the point that their immorality was worse than the nations around them - to the point that it sickened God that they were saying 'the Lord is our God' and living lifestyles worse than anyone else in the world dared to even live!!

- To be Chosen is to be : Consecrated - to be Consecrated is to be : Set Apart.
How can we be Light in the world, if we walk in the darkness and talk like the darkness and look like the darkness?? The musical beats of this world speak of the dysfunction and unrest of the human heart, this is why the world enjoys them. The Music that comes from God does not have this restless sound in it - that is why it is Consecrated : Set Apart from all the other musical sounds in this world.
When Christians adapt their music to sound more like the lost human heart full of dysfunction and unrest; and yet they sing about 'The Lord is our God!' -- they have become no different than the Israelites; and within generations their children will become worse, until we have mostly only pagans living in our land full of every kind of violence and wickedness and immorality, saying 'the Lord will pardon us, he is merciful, is he not: peace and prosperity to all; for we are all God's children!'
Fools!! Adapting to the world makes the Beauty of God a mockery in the world's eyes and robs God of His desired redemption of man! God does not want us to fill our homes with dysfunctional sounding music that says 'the Lord is God;' but, rather instead to fill our Christian Homes with the Beauty of Heaven's Melodies that Proclaim: the Peace and Rest and Healing of God's Presence to our dysfunctional and restless human hearts. That alone gives us the soft rhythm and sweet melody to relax and think on things from above, to settle our restlessness in the Presence of God's Beauty and Peace and Sweet, Sweet Rest.

- Or shall America become as Israel was; defiantly rebellious and wicked and horrendously immoral, claiming God is our Lord; yet living worse than all the other nations: and shall we not also be swept away by those who dwell in Iraq and Iran??
Compare the differences of the music and discern for yourself : what is of God, and, what is of man? What is of God shall always remain. What is of man shall be utterly swept away!
What has happened before will happen again; and the fools will say, who could have known?! IF only they had taken the time to read, they would know!

@@ChivalrousVeteran do you understand that Ron Hamilton's musical style is drawn from popular Celtic and Welsh styles from the 1800s? Up until about the 1600's, the church put composers to death for using harmony and singing words that didn't come from the Psalms. Now those worldly contemporary styles are considered "sacred" and "tame", simply because culture has become accustomed to them.
