    The reason I did a recap of MCCS development is to show things didn’t really take off until 2020 and deserves more content. I forgot to mention that 343 Industries explored making Spartan Points purchasable to create revenue for MCC but scrapped the idea because of backlash from Halo fan. Also, shoutout to my source for speaking with me! They told me they werent always informed of wider business plans for 343 and Microsoft since they were a contractor and not full time so there could be nuance that they’re missing. So keep that in mind.

    The worst part is that MCC isn’t nearly complete. There’s still numerous bugs and promised features left on the table…not to mention the idea of mod support on Xbox or server rentals. Just because we shot down buying Spartan Points because Infinite’s store sucks doesn’t mean there aren’t other methods to fairly monetize MCC that enough people could get behind.

      They only JUST made Halo 2's multiplayer even REMOTELY PLAYABLE as of the previous patch. It was unplayable. None of the Campaigns have cross-play support. There are still numerous visual bugs and glitches in the Campaigns, including entire parts of Halo 3's cutscenes that don't even exist. They only recently fixed Halo 4's lighting bug on Shutdown. I could go on and on.
      There's also an ENORMOUS hacker problem that has DESTROYED the matchmaking multiplayer experience for ALL GAMES.
      Overdelivered? No, absolutely not. Underdelivered, and still underbaked. Master Chief Collection is in an arguably WORSE state than LAUNCH.

    Microsoft couldn't care less about Halo.
    They milked the franchise for as long as they could until it simply dried up like a raisin. Microsoft never liked Bungie because they couldn't control the free spirit and creativity of Bungie (a company who loved human connection and imagination).
    When Bungie couldnt take anymore of their shit in 2010 and decided to leave, Microsoft created 343 to be their little compliant worker bee, their tool to continue to Milk the franchise with. 343 became their Egor to Dracula.
    If we want to resurrect Halo we need Microsoft to give up the rights to Halo all together and start from the ground up again with small scale teams that are passionate about and understand the original Bungie games.

    Also I do wonder how long until we get the next main Halo game, I’m personally thinking the end of 2027, and if it’s going to be a while, MCC getting the spotlight again alongside Infinite’s ongoing sustainment would be a good way to pass the time.

      They're getting ready to move on to the next Halo game.
      And too be fair, it is about time.
      The Halo game has an average life span of about 3 years and then next one releases.

    343 should implore MS that MCC should continue to receive development. When 343 asked us (the community) about Spartan Points costing money no context was given that if not, then MCC would shut down. Furthermore, when 343 asked the community the timing was really BAD. Halo Infinite was going through its terrible phase with monetization so of course the community thought when 343 said 'money' with MCC they meant a similar bad experience.
    I really doubt anyone is against some form of MCC monetization AS LONG AS non of the original content is paywalled. 343 stopped work on MCC for a few years and then came back to really make it better ... they can comeback to MCC and continue the fun one day again I hope ... but not getting my hopes up for it more than wishful thinking.

    I knew that this had to be a Microsoft decision throughout this entire time of them trying so hard to forcing 343i to implementing Micro-transactions into MCC which thankfully didn't happen, we've been through so many buggy messes since launch. It's very disrespectful that Microsoft still continues to diminishing the legacy, and the identity of the halo franchise for the sake of forcefully appealing to a broader audience that has never played a single halo title and also them having unrealistic expectations of a halo game to make their revenue off those people. It's the management and the consumers who buy into their garbage that's killing this franchise as a whole even further. The same can be said for many other games in the modern gaming era we're dealing with right now.
    Microsoft can still maintain this franchise without having micro-transactions at all, but, they simply chose not to because they are greedy and they're after the people who will buy their garbage. It's very sad that many IP's are going through almost the same thing that the halo franchise is going through right now. I really don't like seeing the current state of the halo franchise, and I want this franchise to thrive, not to decline downwards.

      @gran_turismo_fan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah rightfully so, I don't blame the halo community being against MTX's. MCC for years was plagued full of issues including the multiplayer at launch which didn't work at all and it would take upwards of 40 minutes to find a match regardless of time you were playing the game. In 2015/16 The game literally sat dormant for a few years with hardly any bug fixing updates during that time, then the PC port got announced in 2019 then got released which only had reach in the collection on MCC, but to my disappointment I then learned that all of the other halo games weren't playable yet on the PC port of MCC which took 343i another full year to port all of the other halo games in the collection to PC which presented a considerable amount of bugs. The list goes on and on, and you saying among the lines of we should deal with MTX's no matter what kind of dismissiveness over a game that was neglected for the past decade, just adds insult to injury.
      The original halo games deserve better than this. We need to implement modding support for Xbox and 343i needs to let us community manage MCC if 343i aren't able to officially support it anymore. What's the point of letting these games rot? Makes no sense to me.

So you whole schtik is literally pointless.
      343 was pretty clear - they need source of revenue if playerbase wanted new content and features. Playerbase rejected it. So at least don't act surprised when 343 pulled the plug. There is nothing wrong with playerbase rejecting MTXs in game. But they knew consequences. Or they really thought that 343 will continue to put resources into that collection without any ROI?

      @@Godot25Well regardless, they didn't need to monetize MCC anyway. These games were never centered around MTX's anyway nor should it be encouraged or be brought into MCC. That's why the halo community is against MTX's in the first place.
      A lot of what I said about MCC's buggy messes was true back when MCC came out in 2014 on the Xbox one and even then, there were also some buggy messes too when they were porting the halo games into the PC port of MCC, that's an irrefutable fact that you cannot deny nor is it false. If you don't believe me, do your research online and you tell me on how really broken it was back then. It seems to me you never played halo MCC from the very start when there were a lot of issues that took 343i years to fix.
      So no, 343i or Microsoft as a company doesn't deserve our hard earned cash for making continuous failures that they never learn from because they are getting fed all this money that negates the whole purpose of learning from failure when their game doesn't succeed. That's one of the crippling flaws of 343i's management and leadership.

      @@Godot25 That still doesn't make it right or an excuse for 343i to all the sudden put in MTX's into MCC and pretend everything is better now. The damage has already been done by Microsoft and 343i's previous management responsible for the numerous failures that kills the halo franchise's potential and the execution of it all. 343i never learned from any of their failures because they're fed money that easily undermines the value of learning a valuable lesson to not make the same mistake ever again.
      MTX to MCC to us fans just screams pure greed, nevermind the fact that all of us that played this game once it first came out in 2014 when it was totally broken and there was no apology for that disastrous mess which 343i's leadership/management ignored until they absolutely had to fix the last minute. So no, both 343i and Microsoft as a company (exluding the devs) doesn't deserve our hard earned money for the amount of crap and lies we as fans been through with 343i. They're clearly doing this deliberately on purpose to get away with bare minimum effort to making their profits. It's very sad to look at this franchise like a hollow shell of what halo was once was before 343i took over.

      @@gran_turismo_fan Nobody put MTXs into Halo MCC. 343 just said "we need to find a revenue stream if you want future support." Players said no. 343 stopped support. And people are still bitching about 343 abandoning MCC.
      Why? Okay. They didn't want MTXs there. That's fine. But then don't bitch about lack of support. Because then we are approaching territory of insanity.
      Not to mention that only MTXs suggested to community was ability to buy Spartan Points with real money. Nothing more, nothing less.
      You are acting like 343 was trying to charge players for fixing MCC. Which is not true. They got collection into great shape and started adding new content. And they wanted MTXs for that new content.

    Maybe Infinite will Start to get better... ☠️😔

    • @gran_turismo_fan
      @gran_turismo_fan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nope, not a chance. 343i knew that infinite was in trouble throughout this whole time including the development of the game when it was about to be shipped, the roadmap updates, all of that. That game is not what die hard halo fans asked for in the first place, and they knew it. Microsoft and the previous management at 343i responsible for infinite's messy development cycle, are the ones to blame for all of this inclusive modern gaming nonsense just to appeal to a broader audience just to make more money and further ruin the identity and legacy of this franchise.

    JUST ADD MICROTRANSACTIONS.

      @gran_turismo_fan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      No, the classic halo games never had any Micro-transactions, H3 and Reach made you earn cosmetics through challenges like it should be in MCC.
      We don't need this modern gaming nonsense in MCC. We've been through enough in MCC, we have been through so many buggy messes since MCC launched and waited this long for 343i to fix the bugs as well as the modded game browser for MCC that we still didn't get.
