Hixson Tn is a neighborhood in northeastern Chattanooga. Hixson has a population 14,200. Hixson is centered around highway 153 and Hixson Pike. Hixson is a major shopping area of Chattanooga with Northgate Mall located there. Highway 27 is to the west of Hixson and the Tennessee River is to to the south. Highway 153 crosses the Tennessee River on The Wilkes-Thrasher Bridge over the Chickamauga Dam. Middle Valley is a census designated place just to the north of Hixson on Hixson Pike. Middle Valley has a population of 11,700. It is mostly residential with some retail. Soddy-Daisy is a city north of Middle Valley with a population of 13,600. The southwestern end of Soddy-Daisy borders Chattanooga. It is about 15 miles north of downtown Chattanooga on Highway 27 which runs through Soddy-Daisy. Walden's Ridge a section of the Cumberland Plateau is just to the West of Soddy-Daisy. An inlet of Chickamauga Lake is on the east side of Soddy-Daisy. Seqouyah Nuclear Plant is located nearby Soddy-Daisy.
