I’m a second soprano that can sing from second alto to first soprano( although there is a few high notes I can’t hit). My choir director makes me memorize the alto and soprano parts in case one section needs help. 😰
In our section choir, it’s the opposite, lol. It’s mostly because there’s too many altos, and way too less sopranos. Even our music teacher was surprised when he did voice classifications. And most of our soprano section is filled with quiet girls who don’t sing that much. There’s only three who keep doing a proper job. As one of them quiet sopranos, I feel guilty.
Amiedale Regalado it’s opposite in my choir, the sopranos will be singing louder than the altos and my choir director will say “wHeRe ArE mY SoPrAnOs?????????”
A quote I learned when I was in choir: Soprano's love solos Alto's love bass's Bass's love women Tenor's love themselves. This is just so accurate. Me as an Alto, straight up, can't even deny it. I swoon at the sound of deep voices.
Sounds like you’re in a nice choir. My schools altos hate the basses and tenors, and get bitter when we get any opportunity to sing a melody and not be background noise
Me: *Is an alto* Choir: *singing a key higher than usual and struggling* Me: *doesn’t sing cause it’s too high* Teacher: Why are you not singing? Even an alto can sing these notes! Me:
Fun Fact: I was a non-choir kid who just happened to be watching a choir practice. I randomly started singing when they took a break and I was recruited.
I remember one time my friend and I were in choir for 4 years and on my last day I said “ya know I don’t think I ever figured how to breath properly anyways” and she says “yeah I never did either” and that was one of the last interactions we had edit: dang thanks for the like people that was unexpected
When I was in choir the teacher literally gave up on the boys and had the females with the deepest voices(me being one of them)just cover the boys part because the boys never ever knew where their music was
Now that you mention it, I had the same problem. There were too many flutes my 8th grade year, so my band director asked me (then 3rd chair flute) to learn the French horn instead. She seriously asked me after the Christmas parade if I thought I could pick it up for concert season and sent me home with the instrument and music book. When I was confident enough to bring it to class a few weeks later, I found out I'd been playing everything an octave too low. Then as a sophomore in high school, my choir director asked me (a soprano 1) to sing with the altos because he couldn't hear them and he wanted me to give them a boost. Never mind the fact that I could barely hit some of those low notes. Fun times. Lol
I'm a flute and we NEVER get the attention in my school. Sure, we get a solo, but the solo is literally the same thing as everyone elses. And nobody can hear us.
They forgot that one bass singer that even though EVERYONE is singing together *YOU CAN STILL HEAR THEM*

Randomnessz SU sane hello my brotha
my teacher doesn't even help us sound better, just teaches us warning up and songs and we sound awful lol
lily do you go to mariemont?
My WORST nightmare! Like, bruh...
SAME!
lily bruh my teacher is like, “SOUNDS GREAT!” even tho like almost nobody sang and the people who did just did it quietly LOL
Warming not warning lmao
Altos: **sings**
Sopranos: **screams**
Director: wHeRe ArE tHe AlToS?¿¿?¿
4 real tho
In our section choir, it’s the opposite, lol. It’s mostly because there’s too many altos, and way too less sopranos. Even our music teacher was surprised when he did voice classifications. And most of our soprano section is filled with quiet girls who don’t sing that much. There’s only three who keep doing a proper job. As one of them quiet sopranos, I feel guilty.
Amiedale Regalado it’s opposite in my choir, the sopranos will be singing louder than the altos and my choir director will say “wHeRe ArE mY SoPrAnOs?????????”
Yeah...
Theres like 1 to 5 in altos vs sopranos ;-;
A quote I learned when I was in choir:
Soprano's love solos
Alto's love bass's
Bass's love women
Tenor's love themselves.
This is just so accurate. Me as an Alto, straight up, can't even deny it. I swoon at the sound of deep voices.
Sorry, I’m an alto and I gotta go with solos 🙌
I thought countertenors where the one's that dropped the panties.
Sounds like you’re in a nice choir. My schools altos hate the basses and tenors, and get bitter when we get any opportunity to sing a melody and not be background noise
This "Alto's love bass's" me too can't deny it xD
Tenor part is true 😂
Every Tiktok: Altos & Supranos
Me a bass: ...
creamie lol, I'm a soprano, and the bass and tenors in choir never get enough love XD
Being a bass, the insanity that is basses would be a goldmine
Me an Alto 1 which is normal alto.
I didn't know we were popular
My friend
Me: a baritone
Me: *Is an alto*
Choir: *singing a key higher than usual and struggling*
Me: *doesn’t sing cause it’s too high*
Teacher: Why are you not singing? Even an alto can sing these notes!
Me:
Agreed, it’s just annoying and often blows self confidence 😂
Same omg
Damn... if that happens, I just tried to sing in my own range
Don't worry. I feel u 😂
here's a fact i got from my music teacher: "you can't be an alto if you aren't a soprano-"
Fun Fact:
I was a non-choir kid who just happened to be watching a choir practice. I randomly started singing when they took a break and I was recruited.
That is amazing ✨🤣
and then everyone clapped?
When Altos actually get the melody for once
Altos: *birdman hands*
Sopranos: *shook*
I remember one time my friend and I were in choir for 4 years and on my last day I said “ya know I don’t think I ever figured how to breath properly anyways” and she says “yeah I never did either” and that was one of the last interactions we had
edit: dang thanks for the like people that was unexpected
Legendary
legend convo
*me who’s been in choir for years and can’t read a single note*
Iconic
It was the moment
@@bowwolfe794 same, i can read notes only when i sing
When I was in choir the teacher literally gave up on the boys and had the females with the deepest voices(me being one of them)just cover the boys part because the boys never ever knew where their music was
I feel bad for both of you, coming from a Tenor trying his best
We had our bass singer leave the choir and we had only two tenors. It was a class of 7 altos and fove sopranos.
Alto here. The same thing happened to me and some other girls when I was in school.
Till they have to hit a D-2 or lower 😂
I'm low enough to be part of the boys group too, sometimes I have to drop an octave on the alto part so I don't sound like I'm wheezing
Me: *a band kid* ...so y’all treat sopranos how the flutes are treated in band
Me: *a flute* ...fascinating...
Jennifer De Boor Theres only 6 French horns in my band, I’m the first chair. And for the flutes, there’s only 4 😬
@@bethtluangi2985 My 8th grade year, there were like 10 flutes and, after learning it, I was the only French horn.
That was my problem in band

wwwwhat? At my school it’s the opposite way around lol, you guys are the cool ones.
My school's choir instructor is literally the ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
