Do the maths…Mokko and family are getting approx 25% if the channel is making $46k USD per year. A round trip flight from Toronto to Kingston is approx $600-750 for a 2 week stay. Lets say he flys down once a month, that’s $7-9k a year, another . You can toss out another 15-20% on flights alone. Toss out another 20% for other business expenses. So Matt is taking 30-35% for himself… as the creator/owner of this, that seems pretty fair to me given the amount of time and effort that Matt has to put into it while Mokko and family just wait for him to come shoot…unno need fi do betta and stop the victim olympics
the problem i am having is that Mokko did not get a clear understanding of his assignment. Mathew should have worked that out with him from jump with a lawyer outlining the terms and conditions. so, at the end of the day when Mokko start to complain and get greedy he would have had the contract to show. Mathew was being disingenuous from day one.

There should’ve been more clarity between the two on roles and if there was confusion one of his kids should’ve stepped in on Mokko’s behalf. The younger generation have a better understanding of the internet/social media and would’ve been better able to research and explain to Mokko what was going on. You did not mention Matthew's expenses to fly baxk and forth, taxes on the earnings, equipment cost, promo, plus time to edit and upload the videos,. H e is the main investor in the venture, Moko is the main chtacter on screen, That doesn't translate to Mokko getting 50% or whatever of the YouTnbe, It is Mtthew's channel and Mokko is not entitled to half. People are acting as if we don't recognize that Mokko has a Air BNB business all to himself as well, which benefits directly from the traffic of the channel as far as guests. Matthew does not earn from the air bnb! He benefits from the channel. If the TH-cam was to be split 50/50 whatever, Mokko would be getting the lion's share of the partnership. Should Matt then be asking for a commission off the guests that visit Mokko's yard? Think about that. As it is, Mokko is earning from both the channel and the Air BnB. You show social blade but you are assuming the actual earnings. At the end of the day, Mokko has alllowed outside interferance to influence his thinking as far as the relationship with Matt. The you are the "star" treatment, and you deserve at least half of everything with no real thought behind it, plus the wyt man a rob you angle. While the people in his ear are illequipped to take him to the next level and are actually jealous of the success of their duo and want to break it up. We can look at the music, movie or any kind of business where the front man or star actually makes more than the main investors( the executive producer, the labels, the film company, etc,) and that is what Mokko is being fed right now. It's a messed up situation while I do agree there should be a contract and set amount I also believe that sometimes you have to be smart In how you go about some things if I were mokko even of I felt cheated I would not make a fuss because of the advertising I get from the channel however if they Mathew should give the guy more honestly. If the claim is that Matt sends out $1000/month, then that's $12,000/year. It is more than the 20% asked. You are also forgetting that taxes have to be paid at the end of the year, and that alone will cut into the overall revenue by the thousands. Mokko is receiving over 20% that is tax free. There are also all of the travel expenses to take into account. At the end of the day, Matt's profits are roughly only double Mokko's take. That said, I think it's extremely fair considering all the work that comes with content production. Especially when not all the content is centered around Mokko. Let's also not forget about all of the new Airbnb customers that found Mokko through Ras Kitchen, which all proceeds are solely his.
Taxes are paid on the profits which are calculated after expenses. So if you have not made any profits you file nil on your returns which means $0 in taxes. Airfare and his expenses including his accommodations are still deductible expenses. You don’t know what Matthew is filing per annum

Mokko getting a smaller percentage is more than fair because, without Matthew's resources, Ras Kitchen wouldn't be a thing. From traveling to editing to setting up an online store and Airbnb for Mokko, he put Mokko in a much better position than he would have been if Ras Kitchen had never been founded. What about when they just started, and Matthew wasn't making money from TH-cam? I'm sure he was still paying Mokko out of his own pocket. TH-cam pays every month, my channel is a small channel as you can see, and I get paid monthly, based on ad revenue. you tube uses two terms CPM the overall cost for ads and RPM, the cost the channel owner gets after TH-cam take their share. As a small TH-camr I get about $1.50 for $1000 views and it's low because of my location. Mathew is located in Canada he gets a higher CPM and RPM than me plus his channel has been around longer than mine, so his CPM ranges from $10-20 per $1,000 views, and some of his videos get about 300,000 views so he can make up to $6,0000 per video. and all Mokko asks for is 20% and he refuses to give it to him.

ok so using social blade. social blade says the cannel makes $3k US per month, Mokko gets 150,000 Jamaican per month, 150,000 Jamaican is $970 US, on this basis Mokko gets roughly 30% per month from that so gets more than the 20% he claims he wants, even basing it on 100,000 Jamaican which is $648 US that's still 22%
If Matthew give Mokko $100k and give the other family $50k Jamaican that's $150k Jamaican which is about 1 thousand US. If Matthew make about $3000 US according to you then that mean Mokko getting about 30%. Then the problem was that Mokko can’t drive, no license or literacy. It’s sad cause his not understanding has made this situation worse. This is really sad I'm with Matthew on this one he's got bills at home and he is in Jamaica filming. Mokko need to stop smoking weed and think about all the benefits him an his family came into off Mathew equipment and time. All they had to do is sit down and figure out expenses and payments. YOU stated social blade on the high end says Ras Kitchen makes 3k monthly. YOU also stated Mokko wants 20% and YOU also stated Matt sends them 150k Jamaican monthly (100k to Mokko and 50k split with the rest of the family) that adds up to about 1k USD Which is 33% of the 3k referred by social blade and still that does not take into consideration all the costs Matt has with the traveling and acquiring camera and computer equipment. YOU should refrain from stating black people are being taken advantage of when this clearly was not the case. In the future do you think others will want to come and help out? I mean just look at Mokkos yard and how it improved over the years that Matt has been coming and helping Mokko build his brand. Here is a question to YOU. mokko claim that Mathew stole his 11,000 go fund, and he did the trickiest thing took mokko to a car mart ask him to sit behind the steering of a vehicle and took a pic and post it claiming that's the vehicle that he bought for mokko, I did not do a video on it because i don't like the mix-up.

It's simple. Is moko a straight employee or a part owner. If employee then he is only entitled to wages agreed upon. If part time owner then he is due to percentage of profit.
Mathew is an intelligent guy he should have made this known to Mokko in a written contract. Mathew is not more valuable than Mokko both of them are main characters in the TH-cam video. Mokko feels as if he is being taken advantage of, and I feel the same way too.

If get 20% that means he owes 20% fees. So to get the 20% ownership that person also pays 20% of what it takes to make the show go on. When it comes to this stuff it chess not checkers. Mokko didn’t handle the issue right. None of this should have left closed doors.

The figures quoted are a guesstimate of how much the channel MIGHT make, but that is depending on a lot of factors such as how much afs are actually viewed etc It's disenginuous to state that the channel is making more just based on one's opinion

moko Airbnb is separate from the TH-cam channel, all I am saying is Mathew should have had a contract from day one stating how much he will give mokko from the earning, instead of jus giving him a ting, memba say Mokko is one of the main characters on the channel so he should be paid for that.

Every person who is Jamaican that I see analyzing this situation has very poor analytical skills... the Channel is a 12 year old Channel... for the first 5 years the Channel most likely had 5k to 10k subs... now that it has 700k subs... everyone is now look at it like the earning was 3k USD for the whole time... at most the Channel has made 200k USD in total earnings for the 12 years and the bulk of that came in recently... before that Matthew was most like operating at a lost for the first 5 years or zero profit but no one sees that part ... even if the channel is currently making 48k a year that just 4k a month ... if Matthew gives the family 1.5k USD per month that way more than 20%

the channel is making about 8-10,000 USD per , what you see on social blade is actually lower than what the channel makes. all mokko asked for was 20% and Mathew refuse to give him, after Mathew use mokko and his family and his natural resource to build his channel, and to top it all off mokko say him teef him 11,000 usd go fund money.

Do the maths…Mokko and family are getting approx 25% if the channel is making $46k USD per year. A round trip flight from Toronto to Kingston is approx $600-750 for a 2 week stay. Lets say he flys down once a month, that’s $7-9k a year, another . You can toss out another 15-20% on flights alone. Toss out another 20% for other business expenses. So Matt is taking 30-35% for himself… as the creator/owner of this, that seems pretty fair to me given the amount of time and effort that Matt has to put into it while Mokko and family just wait for him to come shoot…unno need fi do betta and stop the victim olympics
the problem i am having is that Mokko did not get a clear understanding of his assignment. Mathew should have worked that out with him from jump with a lawyer outlining the terms and conditions. so, at the end of the day when Mokko start to complain and get greedy he would have had the contract to show. Mathew was being disingenuous from day one.
@@realjamaicannews I partially agree. I can’t say Matt was being disingenuous..There was what seemed to be a real friendship there which always clouds up business. There should’ve been more clarity between the two on roles and if there was confusion one of his kids should’ve stepped in on Mokko’s behalf. The younger generation have a better understanding of the internet/social media and would’ve been better able to research and explain to Mokko what was going on. This shouldn’t have dragged on for 10 years. From the first time he felt Matt was “scamming” him they should’ve gotten everything clarified and on paper. If not, he should’ve cut out. You did not mention Matthew's expenses to fly baxk and forth, taxes on the earnings, equipment cost, promo, plus time to edit and upload the videos,. H e is the main investor in the venture, Moko is the main chtacter on screen, That doesn't translate to Mokko getting 50% or whatever of the YouTnbe, It is Mtthew's channel and Mokko is not entitled to half. People are acting as if we don't recognize that Mokko has a Air BNB business all to himself as well, which benefits directly from the traffic of the channel as far as guests. Matthew does not earn from the air bnb! He benefits from the channel. If the TH-cam was to be split 50/50 whatever, Mokko would be getting the lion's share of the partnership. Should Matt then be asking for a commission off the guests that visit Mokko's yard? Think about that. As it is, Mokko is earning from both the channel and the Air BnB.
You show social blade but you are assuming the actual earnings. At the end of the day, Mokko has alllowed outside interferance to influence his thinking as far as the relationship with Matt. The you are the "star" treatment, and you deserve at least half of everything with no real thought behind it, plus the wyt man a rob you angle. While the people in his ear are illequipped to take him to the next level and are actually jealous of the success of their duo and want to break it up.
We can look at the music, movie or any kind of business where the front man or star actually makes more than the main investors( the executive producer, the labels, the film company, etc,) and that is what Mokko is being fed right now. YOU ARE THE STAR.

If the claim is that Matt sends out $1000/month, then that's $12,000/year. It is more than the 20% asked. You are also forgetting that taxes have to be paid at the end of the year, and that alone will cut into the overall revenue by the thousands. Mokko is receiving over 20% that is tax free. There are also all of the travel expenses to take into account. At the end of the day, Matt's profits are roughly only double Mokko's take. That said, I think it's extremely fair considering all the work that comes with content production. Especially when not all the content is centered around Mokko. Let's also not forget about all of the new Airbnb customers that found Mokko through Ras Kitchen, which all proceeds are solely his.

Taxes are paid on the profits which are calculated after expenses. So if you have not made any profits you file nil on your returns which means $0 in taxes. Airfare and his expenses including his accommodations are still deductible expenses. You don’t know what Matthew is filing per annum

Mokko getting a smaller percentage is more than fair because, without Matthew's resources, Ras Kitchen wouldn't be a thing. From traveling to editing to setting up an online store and Airbnb for Mokko, he put Mokko in a much better position than he would have been if Ras Kitchen had never been founded. What about when they just started, and Matthew wasn't making money from TH-cam? I'm sure he was still paying Mokko out of his own pocket. All it is, is someone putting stuff in Mokko's head and making him feel like he's getting played. TH-cam pays every month, my channel is a small channel as you can see, and I get paid monthly, based on ad revenue. you tube uses two terms CPM the overall cost for ads and RPM, the cost the channel owner gets after TH-cam take their share. As a small TH-camr I get about $1.50 for $1000 views and it's low because of my location. Mathew is located in Canada he gets a higher CPM and RPM than me plus his channel has been around longer than mine, so his CPM ranges from $10-20 per $1,000 views, and some of his videos get about 300,000 views so he can make up to $6,0000 per video. and all Mokko asks for is 20% and he refuses to give it to him.

ok so using social blade. social blade says the cannel makes $3k US per month, Mokko gets 150,000 Jamaican per month, 150,000 Jamaican is $970 US, on this basis Mokko gets roughly 30% per month from that so gets more than the 20% he claims he wants, even basing it on 100,000 Jamaican which is $648 US that's still 22%
If Matthew give Mokko $100k and give the other family $50k Jamaican that's $150k Jamaican which is about 1 thousand US. If Matthew make about $3000 US according to you then that mean Mokko getting about 30%. How you put out this video with all this information and didn't realize 20% is less than what you claim he's getting?
Furthermore, Matthew and Mokko didn't sit down together and create a TH-cam channel. Matthew was a guest at Mokko place and he paid to stay there, he buys all the food that's being cooked. Pays Dorret to do his laundry, pay Copy to do things for him.
On top of that he covers all operational expenses of the channel. He does all the editing and behind the scenes.
Yes Mokko is the face of the channel but name one news anchor, movie star, co-host, host, athlete or talent on tv that makes 20% of the revenue without partially owning and financing operational cost?
In addition Mokko Airbnb is getting invaluable promotion from Matthew and Ras kitchen. What if Matthew ask him to pay for the promotion or a percentage of the Airbnb profit? It wouldn't be fair because Mokko covers the operational cost and owns that business right? Yet you can't deny Matthew contribution to that business is invaluable and drives revenue to it.

YOU stated social blade on the high end says Ras Kitchen makes 3k monthly. YOU also stated Mokko wants 20% and YOU also stated Matt sends them 150k Jamaican monthly (100k to Mokko and 50k split with the rest of the family) that adds up to about 1k USD Which is 33% of the 3k referred by social blade and still that does not take into consideration all the costs Matt has with the traveling and acquiring camera and computer equipment.
