Great question. It will usually work out to be about the same, however, that is only if you keep the pH level consistent in your original developer. I usually keep my pH consistent by adding a bit of oxalic acid throughout the life of the developer.

I'm wondering if you could mix the 200 grams of potassium carbonate into 500ml of water and then mix the 230 grams of oxalic acid in a separate container with 500ml of water and then finally add the mixed oxalic acid solution to the potassium carbonate solution to avoid all the fizzing? If you add the new to the old, do you have to adjust the PH? Or, can you reasonable expect they will be about the same?
