Y'all all have to be deaf or some shit. She's mediocre at best. Like yeah she hit some of the high notes but other than that its pretty bad. Her voice is shaky, sometimes she uses too much vibrato, can't control her voice properly, and she shouts. The people in the UK's X Factor are fucking terrible over all. Like Sara Aalto is a piece of trash compared to Melanie Amaro for example. She can sing, but her voice is way too theatrical and opera esc. Her music won't do anything in the main stream media, nor in the indie genre.

Wouldn't be so sure about that, even she's by far the best singer & act on the show. Many factors still to be seen before the winner takes it all. Would be nice, if she were to win and not the least that she's different in a way that most of people can not reason. She represent "finnish-connection" in steroids and that might have been her downfall in finnish scene, as it is kind of a mirror to finns. Anyways, Louis Walsh gives the most accurate feedback and a good distraction(at least me personally) from for ex. global ice cover collapse, Polar Vortex disruption, Amazons severe droughts, record high coral bleaching, Elon Musk seriously trying to relocate to Mars etc..

I'm cheering for Saara, because she is hands down the best singer and performer in this competition. I agree with you that Sharon has not been much of a coach/mentor for her, at least not until Honey G got out of the picture.
But as a fellow Finn, I find your some of your comments embarrassing and downright ignorant. First you say that people in the UK are not that bright. Then you continue by saying that the Englishmen/English people are so stupid. The UK refers to Great Britain and Norther Ireland, and England and the Englishmen are just a part of it - not the whole Britain.
Also you used the word "ain't", which does not form part of standard English, but mainly used in colloquial (informal) language in the United States.
You are right about Finland not being part of Scandinavia, but spelled Scandinavia with "k". By the way, it was the judge Louis Walsh, who mainly referred to Saara as Scandinavian and he is Irish. Are you going to start calling the Irish stupid too?

She's on a completely different league from the others, there are only a few people in the world with voices like Saara's and on top of that she is an amazing performer and entertainer which is also something you have to have talent for. Matt is also good and so are 5AM and Emily but they haven't given as demanding performances and as entertaining and versatile performances as Saara has. I honestly think that Saara not only has the best voice in the competition but she also has the whole package and above all she has determination and the thrive to win!

Emily is very young, she will grow. I honestly like Emily. Matt is also without any doubt a very good singer, but he panicked last night (he is also very young). Saara has more experience and has starting to find herself as artist. That's what makes the difference.

I watched this, then the original version and this again. I always thought nobody can beat the original one and so Saara would make a mistake when doing this, but hearing this i stopped comparing. This is not an imitation but so much Saara's own presentation that i consider this almost like another song, yet pleasantly familiar... I can't fully explain if at all but i truly liked this!

Robusti09 Let's not go overboard with the victimization. She has been offered a record deal in Finland several times but refused to sign them because they insisted that she sings in Finnish. The truth is, Finns prefer music sung in Finnish and the record companies do not have the connections nor the money to create international artists. That's why nearly every Finnish act that sings in English flops real bad.
This is purely a business decision. It's ridiculous how some Finns have taken this as a sign of how much Finland sucks. Ultimately that speaks volumes about the ignorance of these people, not about record companies or Finnish people in general. These days it's just oh so popular to trash your own home country. It's been awkward to watch how some have exploited Saara's success and twisted it into something negative and self-deprecating, although Saara herself has never done likewise. She has said there's nothing in Finland for her professionally, which is true since she wants to sing in English. Never has she said that Finland sucks and she's too good for everyone.

I have a bit mixed feelings about this. Sia's song is about downs and ups. It takes its time to dwell in the deeps and develops into high madness, and then makes a swing (pun intended) or two between the two. Sia's original was around 3:40 minutes, Saara's was abridged to just some 2:05 minutes. Rushing it squeezed many strong themes in the beginning into almost a mumbled chaos. It's quite different from Sia's masterpiece and changes the spirit into something new and less clear. Saara's audition piece was much better in the downs-ups-balance. Nevertheless, what Saara did here was amazing in many ways, especially in the incredibly strong end part. Given double time this could have been an amazing reinterpretation. Really loved that high-pitched spike.

Just a comment on the dress... although it isn't really a full dress but a long train with Xmas lights and only a belt holding it on her waist. It did make her look pregnant (again) but I really liked the flickering lights, they went well with the thundering background and the lyrics as well.
