It was me, and I still have the master D8 tape, haha. I recorded all of the shows on my channel, aside from the Ugly Cassanova set in Buffalo. That one is the Hi-8 master recording from a guy I was trading tapes with back in the early '00s. I'm glad so many people like these concerts - when I record a show I try to capture what it was like to be there at that moment in time.
.they open up for Local H that night...I was there w/ a buddy and my little brother...got to trees about an 1 hr early...went to the bar and saw 3 guys having beers...we chatted with them for about 30 mins did not realize it was Chevelle...these guys were really cool to hang out with..they ended up buying us a couple of rounds that night...show was amazing...miss seeing national bands in small venue clubs...
Oh man! Just came across this! My friend Daniel and I were at the very front. I can't make either of us out in the dark because we were in black shirts, but man... this is so freaking awesome to see! Such a great concert. We had just gone to see them in Houston the night before then went and saw them again the next night down in Austin. Miss the old days of them playing small clubs.
60 seconds x 39 minutes = 2.340 2.340 x 100 = 234.000 seconds 234.000 devided by 60 = 3900 minutes 3900 devided by 60 = 65 hours Love how some people say. I've seen this a million times XD no you didnt. xD
Omg…just found this. This is awesome vintage Chevelle. Wish had made it to a show back then❤. Pete just gets better with time. Best music in the world. Love you guys .
This is a special and unique time. It’s those few months right before they hit it big. You can already see the change happening with the look, Pete’s box, changing to PRS guitar. Sam opening up, Pete’s sideburns, Joes hair dye and looking more confident on stage, etc. A little glimpse into that curious time between Point #1 sound and WWN (becoming peak Chevelle imo). This has been “my band” for 20+ yrs and I’m more than grateful you posted this. Saw them first in 2003 (their “debut” essentially) as 1st opener on main stage of Ozzfest and countless times until just last week in 2024)
Such a high energy performance by all three of them. Joe may have hated touring but he actually seemed to be pretty positive here. It's hard to look past Pete's high octane beautiful performance but if you do, you will see Sam in the fucking zone back there on drums. This is about as good as it gets. Really wish I could have been there
Also I have a new found appreciation for Wonder What's Next (the song) after seeing them perform it here. So fucking raw. Exactly as a track like that should be
Old school Chevelle fan here. I love l post Joe Chevelle, but I love all Chevelle. I just wanna say you can see the chemistry here, regardless of who fault or whatever... Chevelle wouldn’t be “Chevelle” without Joe...
that sexy PRS Guitar of honor always makes it all sexier and also love how pete had that little box by the mic stand to balance himself better with the style good power trio
Hey, I taped that show, too, but I was on the ground level. I remember seeing another camera going, that was you right, balcony over the merch area? I've been waiting a long time to digitize my old tapes, today's the day. I think I also have Local H but I haven't gotten to that part of the tape yet. I've watched your video a few times, I'd like to post a link here when I get my version up, if you don't mind?
Long is so great. It's definitely my favorite song by them. I wish they would write more progressive songs nowadays. Songs that don't "fit the mold" of the intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-chorus schema. They're music is great, but if I had to criticize it, I would have to say that it's a bit predictable sometimes; which can be disappointing because I know that they know how to surprise their audience, if they so chose to do so. Maybe it has to do with restrictions via their record label that they are pressured to write more "radio friendly" songs? BUT, they're usually good for 1 or 2 songs that mess with that structural formula per album, and that will keep me coming back for more =)
I was excited when Joe was no longer in the band. YES! Finally they can get a bass player who feels music and has tons of stage energy! Then...came....Dean.
Sharmarie Frayer that’s a very odd thing to not be able to stand lol. It’s just a habit where he’s comfortable jamming. It’s like his signature rock power stance lol
actually its a tool box. He said he got to where he would put his foot up a lot when he played as a habit and so the tool box was used and stayed with him on stage there after.
Whats up from the future 🤘🤘

Imagine a setlist like this today :(
Jesus right, still adore Chevelle, but like Lamb Of God they basically only play singles which drives me nuts

They’re not underrated at all.. why does everyone on TH-cam love using that word?
One of the best live and known for it

Joe wrote close to 0 of the material and barely toured 3 albums worth so I think it's a bold claim that they wouldn't exist without him.

This is gold.
Pete is always fucking great on his vocals.

Amazing, one of my fav bands ever. First saw them on the Snowcore tour with crossfade & strata in Hartford. Think that was 04 or 05.
