- The grill and fenders get painted this week. Robby and Hillbilly attach the Rokon trailer to The Golden Nugget only to find out it might not fit. Additional fabrication from Tom Tom and Lizzy from Matt's Off Road Recovery is going to be needed.

I'd do the trailer black and the fenders gold. That way when the bike is loaded there would be a nice contrast that would accent the gold on the nugget and the bike on the trailer maybe even powdercoat the black and save a lot of money not using all that 1k gold paint

I totally agree! Needs to be broken up a little. Also, with black wheels on the Suzuki, the wheels on the trailer should be black as well! Heck yeah!

I would do the trailer black and the fenders gold. remember the bike is going to be gold . it will visibly get lost when it's on the trailer if it too is gold...

I agree with grisby,do the trailer black and the fenders gold. That would look sharp. That grill sure does look good! Ed will not believe His golden nugget is really His when it's all together & presented to Him. Just hope it's not too much for Him at His age. At $1000.00 a gallon for that paint, He sure will have bragging rights.
That is ridiculous for the cost of paint and totally unnecessary. They could have painted it Caterpillar heavy machinery yellow and Ed would not have known the difference and it would have been a LOT cheaper... Or paint it school bus yellow and put some lettering on the back saying, "The REALLY SHORT bus"...
I totally agree with Grisby, the Rocon will stand out on the black trailer and the fenders will just hilight it. Spot on.
The trailer's going to get walked on, scratched, and banged up pretty quickly. I think black, perhaps with gold fenders, would be much more practical.
I would do a black trailer. That way the bike will stand out instead of blending in with the trailer.

If the only choice is black or gold fenders I’d go with black. Of course I said the same thing about the Banana’s door handles and got overruled by Matt. So if he has the final say…it will be gold fenders! 😢 I do agree with other’s comments about blacking out the trailer with gold fenders. Would look sweet with the Rocon on it!

Great Team ! a Really busy time with a lot going on, it was awesome to see Hillbilly be part of the solution instead of the problem & come in for the dispatch job, ( helps pay the bills ). A little bit of bondo filler to smooth out that questionable steel for Ed's Nugget is a A LOT different then the thick BS Bondo layers Holly had on Mischief Maker ... awesome work Robby ! That Color is AMAZING !! ... I am pumpin my fist for Ed !! ,,, so many of you TH-cam guys doing all this for Ed .. it's Wonderful in so many ways. ❤❤👍👍 I wanted to add, I hope you guys have a really fun time at the Easter event !, I'm following 4 different TH-cam channels this weekend and you all make me feel part of it, thank you !
Black fender and a gold trailer would look amazing.
Powder coat the trailer the same as the frame, add gold fenders. Bike will look amazing on there.
Make sure y'all let Hillbilly know he's valued and get his back like he has yours!

That grille looks amazing! For the trailer I'd make it black, with gold fenders as highlights. That way dirt won't show on it as much.
I think the trailer should be black, assuming the rokon will be the same color as the nugget. Since the underside of the nugget is all black it would meld well

Loved the video! Honestly, I'd go solid black on the trailer. No gold. As another commenter said, much more practical for something that is going to be walked on, scratched up, etc. Plus it would keep the focus on the vehicles.
I think the trailer should be something other than gold. The nugget and rokon are gold, so it would be way too much gold. IMHO
Wow! That gold paint really looks like gold. Powdercoat or Linex the trailer black. Maybe, gold fenders. The trailer frame and deck should match the frame of the Nugget.

Regarding the issue with the hitch. A combination dog leg on the trailer not so high as to where the trailer couldn't be towed with a different vehicle, and a bit of drop down on the receiver should be a good solution. That way one wouldn't have to bend down so low to lift the trailer and not have to be too concerned with the hitch dragging if it were left on the Suzuki.
Yes me and Tom Tom talked about the combination that way this could be pulled by Ed’s Dakota also if he chose

Somehow you should get a pin stripe person to outline the inside of the Susuki lettering. That would set the grill off! Man the Nugget is gona be absolutely awesome.
I've been following this build since Matt and crew pulled it out of the woods, and I must say that I am truly impressed with both the quality of the work and the great attitudes of everyone involved! Can't wait to see the finished build, and I'd be willing to bet that it will bring a tear to Ed's eye to see what everyone has done to make his day! Great channel... great crew! Thanks for posting!

Solid black, maybe some gold accent for the trailer. Get all the attention on the Rokon.
On the trailer... Think you need to add some spacers on the axle to raise it up... Put a jog in the trailer frame near the hitch and lower the ball on the receiver to even out the problem instead of trying to make it all up in one location... Maybe just two of the above would get it done!... Good luck!...
Sure glad the boys at Fab Rats decided to use the new body instead of making a hybrid body out of the old & new one. That would have made this project take double the time - & let's face it this has been a long project to work into your regular workloads.

When it was decided to paint the nugget gold I was skeptical on how it would look, but that color is stunning. You guys are awesome!

Put some grab handles on the frame for Ed to hang onto getting the cab. And a place for his cane inside once he gets in.

Hi the nuget is really goldy , it will be amazing for Ed and for us following it from the rescue to Paul to you and bikes and beards . They are asking for a name of the bike, I would suggest OROKON / OROCON (oro is spanish for gold) to make more glitery or goldy
"DINNER TIME" absolutely would buy one! As far as the trailer... All black with gold fenders, and black wheels to match the black wheels on the Suzuki.

I feel like you guys are doing a champagne job for a milk truck. I would love to bring my FJ40 to your shop for some rust repair and paint, but I would be scared of the bill. Keep up the great work.
I my humble opinion, the trailer should be painted black, or black with gold fenders or highlights would be good. But the Gold Nugget should be the Star of the combo.
I think you should powder coat the trailer in black to match the frame of the Nugget and then pinstripe it in gold.
Instead of a drop hitch that becomes an anchor, do a lift tongue. I do lift tongues on small trailers that makes them much more usable.
Maybe a combination of the two? Hate to make twice the work, but...?

All they have to do it cut a 45 degree angle in the tubing, then cut a piece of tubing with two 45 degree angles opposite each other then run the piece of tubing straight up, then another 45 degree cut to make it parallel to the original plane. Can make it specifically fit the Nugget or make it a universal height. Simple and strong depending upon the welding technician. It can also have gussets inside each 90 degree corners as well as a round tube going up to the top front of the tire loop from the rear of the tongue as well.
Hillbilly is one of those guys you keep, outstanding work ethic. It's nice to see. I always think in my head "work like my grandfather's watching". Thank you for sharing

Hey Robbie I’m a retired coal miner worked hard and long hours even days at a time all my life and it’s rare to see young people these days with the work ethic you and your crew have thank you for that. It’s amazing at the amount of work you and crew get done in a week and I know we don’t see half of it. But keep up the great work and pass it on brother!!!

I love them machines, even though they’re tippy. Doesn’t need to be Golden Nugget, Banana, or Mischief Maker perfect. It just needs to be on and off the roads another decade or better.👍🏻 Those Cologne engines are affordable rebuild when needed, or upgrade for more hp as many do when that time comes. Gotta address the body cancer and cutout replace where needed.
I love how you guys work together and help each other out. The world could use a lot more of that.

Guys, as a kid I worked in a shop. It was a great background and helped me be a better engineer. Your son is a lucky young man. Thank you for your hard work and this is a great project, and way more interesting than the fake work they do on TV.
I would go black trailer and gold fenders because when you get tire grime from the bike on the gold it will really show up.
