I think they get less buff over the generations because the first two had to rely on hamon and physical strength. The new ones are stand users, so they have less to rely on. They don't do much hand work since their stand can help. Polnareff said he trained, Jotaro probably did but didn't know, and Joseph relied on strength and hamon. Not much is given about Mr. K. N. Donut, Avdol, or Iggy.

Shoving Star Platinums hand out of the way is the most impressive feat though, considering that normally, it's impossible to touch a stand without using your stand.

Yeah! I always thought it would have been badass to be able to see the fights from the perspective of a random bystander who doesn't have the ability to see Stands. Can you imagine taking out two handfuls of knives, and then they just float out of his hands and shoot at Jotaro?
I love the anime with all my heart, but the level of expressions and actions felt so much more human to me in the OVA. Seeing DIO acting like a beast by killing those innocent people and seeing Jotaro's expressions full of panic and fear makes the whole thing so much intense, and the level of detail they put on the expressions and the whole fight is brutal.
I like that too, you can just feel Jotaros anger and rage when the civilians are killed. It adds a lot to him in my opinion as we forget that he is a 17 year old kid, seeing that probably angered and saddened him
2015 DIO just wanted to rule the world with his stand The World and he treated him self like royalty. This DIO is much better cause he's a murder and his teleporting makes him look more horrifying

Not gonna lie the art style for the Stardust Crusaders OVA looked better then the 2015 anime (the only things that peeve me in the OVA is Iggy's design, Joseph's beard color being blonde and The World/Star Platinum's color scheme)
This is by far my favorite dragon ball z episode, DIO going super Saiyan for the first time was a real plot twist, but Jotaro's zenkai boost was bigger

5:09 I’m glad the OVA actually showed how they were “flying” as many people think they were. I really don’t know why the anime didn’t show this. (Well the anime did, but it was too subtle). Back when I didn’t know what Jojo was and saw this fight I thought they were straight up flying in the anime instead of stand jumping.
LegendaryDoge they’re shown doing this in the modern version as well. It isn’t always shown and some parts just don’t make sense but it’s definitely there.
Fun fact: in the audio drama version where Norio Wakamoto voices DIO, they actually uses his old Space Laser Eyes move, the same one that killed Jonathan.
I can't believe no one is going to point out how Polnareff in the "stopped heart" scene was treated better here than in the anime. He and Jotaro worked off each other so well to deliver that WOMBO COMBO straight to Dio, that I wish they kept that in the Anime instead of bitch slapping Polnareff aside and unnecessarily stretching out the scene.
It's some great visual story telling where each part of the scene further escalates until it reaches a climax. Jotaro is stuck waiting for an opportunity that frankly won't come (Without help) Polnareff gives that help with a sneak attack on Dio while he's focused on Jotaro The blood splatter snaps Jotato back from to reality but Dio is too shocked about Vanilla Ice's death to notice until it's too late. Jotaro gets the one punch he was trying to get the entire fight. At this point in the story Polnareff has matured and is carrying both Iggy and Avdol's death on his sleeve. Seeing his attack not contribute in a meaningful way is just a poor story telling choice that was a welcome change in the OVA. The source material, in this case, the manga. Should not be absolute and in most cases, minor alterations often improve the source material when creators are given the free range to adjust. Much like the OVAs changes.

I can't believe no one is going to point out how Polnareff in the "stopped heart" scene was treated better here than in the anime. He and Jotaro worked off each other so well to deliver that WOMBO COMBO straight to Dio, that I wish they kept that in the Anime instead of bitch slapping Polnareff aside and unnecessarily stretching out the scene.
It's some great visual story telling where each part of the scene further escalates until it reaches a climax.
Jotaro is stuck waiting for an opportunity that frankly won't come (Without help)
Polnareff gives that help with a sneak attack on Dio while he's focused on Jotaro
The blood splatter snaps Jotato back from to reality but Dio is too shocked about Vanilla Ice's death to notice until it's too late.
Jotaro gets the one punch he was trying to get the entire fight.
At this point in the story Polnareff has matured and is carrying both Iggy and Avdol's death on his sleeve. Seeing his attack not contribute in a meaningful way is just a poor story telling choice that was a welcome change in the OVA.
The source material, in this case, the manga. Should not be absolute and in most cases, minor alterations often improve the source material when creators are given the free range to adjust. Much like the OVAs changes.
