Richard, I can’t tell you how many times you’ve saved my sanity since purchasing my V8V roadster 5 months ago. Yet again, you’ve helped; this time with my window problems caused by a failed battery. I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the content - great channel.
Thanks for this video - had my car for sale at a dealer and upon ppi the passenger window wouldn't work. They had their "master" mechanic look at the car and he said the window motor was bad. Told him I'd be there to fix it, and had the job done in less than 5 minutes thanks to your awesome video! Love your website and videos!!
Yup. Had this happen to me a month ago when the battery died. Fortunately for me (because the battery died), I had left the windows down. But when the window wouldn't work, it meant I couldn't drive it and park it elsewhere until I fixed it. Luckily after paddling around on the forums, I found the fuse tip. Ended up pulling both the driver and passenger (maybe I just didn't pull the passenger for long enough? Or they're mislabeled?) and it did the trick.
F82 is passenger, F83 is driver, at least in my US-spec '07 V8V. I try to keep in mind that I have viewers with both LHD and RHD cars, so sometimes it's best to stay vague so people actually check for their specific car. And, it's easiest to just spend an extra 5 seconds removing both fuses than it is to figure out which is which so just got for it lol.
Hello Richard fantastic videos. Do you have an opinion about the db7 cars? Specifically stick shift Vantage Volante? I know the DB9 was a huge breakthrough clean sheet design, but the db7 has its charms as well. I'm on the tall side so I know the db7 is less roomy than a DB9. Thanks for the great information your videos provide.
I don't have any plans for the DB7 right now. A while back I started stocking a few DB7 maintenance items to see if there was much demand from owners of those cars and I've had extremely little. I might generate that demand by creating DB7 content but right now I'm still really occupied with the Gaydon-era stuff I've been focused on so far.
The only direct experience I have with them is being around them at events, bit honestly I've never driven or worked on one. I'm sure that'll change as opportunity allows, though. As a spectator, I think they're beautiful. They get flak for being so similar to the Jaguar on which it was based, but I think it's way better than that car and worth the premium for it.
Hi there, question. If the door modules can drop their memory with loss of battery power. Does this not do the same when the fuses are removed. Or is it simply the difference of a drop in power and shutting off the power completely via the fuses.
You can leave the factory connections for the exhaust valves disconnected, plug/cap off the vacuum lines, tie everything down (zip ties) so nothing's hanging loose and you're good to go!

This happened to my V8V recently too! Was very happy when this wound up fixing it.
Always great info on how to take care of my V8 GT! Thank you
As always, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Just solved my passenger window problem with your assistance!

Thanks so much for this Rich, got my Vantage today and the passenger window (RHD car) wasn't working. Pulled fuses and 5 minutes later they worked!
Question please: does the ignition need to be on or off while removing or adding fuse 82/83 ? Thank you
Yes, the car needs to be completely off.
It worked, thanks so much!! Probably saved me hours or great expense trying to figure it out 😊
Bugger me! I had the same problem and used your fix. It Worked! Thanks so much.
Thank you so much. Worked like a dream on my vantage. Really appreciate.
Thank you - worked perfectly as you described. Appreciated!
Should I have left the fuses out for longer?
I waited for about 10 minutes before I put the fuses back in
I just tried this but it hasn't worked for me ?
Hi is it possible to do without the key remote the reset. Mine is not original but from a volvo!!

@@Redpantslol I understand. But do you have a good opinion of the db7 generally?
The only direct experience I have with them is being around them at events, bit honestly I've never driven or worked on one. I'm sure that'll change as opportunity allows, though. As a spectator, I think they're beautiful. They get flak for being so similar to the Jaguar on which it was based, but I think it's way better than that car and worth the premium for it.
Hello friend, my cigarette lighter doesn't work, where should I replace the fuse? I've been looking for it for a long time
Thank you Richard just did this and it worked 👍

The door modules don't lose memory when the battery is disconnected or the fuses removed.
@@Redpantslol excellent Thankyou. I believe it turns out to be the window alinement. Doubtful new modules are at faulty.
Just ordered the gt4 muffler delete from you. So pumped what should I do with the wiring for the active valve in the stock exhaust?

Very useful, thank you!
Interesting I'll do this if I come across this problem.. but the elephant in the room is ...why did that happen??
The most common response I get when asking my insider friends and colleagues about things like this: "Because it's an Aston Martin, sir."
first hehe, keep em comin bro
