I absolutely 💯% agree with your given reason for why Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to celebrate birthdays. I've thought this myself. I'm so glad you're finally able to celebrate yourself and just generally LIFE!

I personally believe that parents don't receive the honor they deserve, even for the same reasons! In this sense, not celebrating days that provide the opportunity to honor parents is precisely about ensuring that everything doesn't revolve solely around the culture.

One of the things the enslaver did to the enslaved in the South was to not tell them their birthday. I just read this in the novel "The Underground Railroad" last month during my birthday trip to Boston. 😬 It fits your argument. And yes, I'm picking a lighter subject matter next time. 😂
