This was so lovely to see. Moto has proven that he’s an excellent father. He was so smart to come up with the idea to include learning and singing to encourage and motivate Sutan. Of course Moe is always teaching her in the kitchen. 😊 I really enjoyed this video and I love this family.🤗💕
Having Moto around to help with the initial pounding made the mochi so much better this year, and a wonderful time for the family to do something together.
Mochi making is becoming a lost art. My Dad used to do that when he was younger. My Uncle used to make it using a machine, but my Dad mentioned that it wasn’t the same. The machine made Mochi would harden quickly, where the pounded Mochi would stay soft for days. There’s still a few families in Hawaii that get together every year to pound mochi. The news stations will normally visit them. I believe I heard that the first part, the mashing of the rice, is the most important part, even more than the pounding. Nice job this year! You need to have strong QA processes and she takes the job very seriously. “You look like you’re doing something, but are you really doing something?” My 14-year-old is a master of making herself look busy (so mom and dad won’t ask her to help with something) without actually doing anything.

上次做麻糬是母女倆人，媽媽費好大力氣製作，這次有爸爸幫忙，麻糬感覺比較黏。真的有差別！蘇坦真的是美食家，好多食物在她嘴哩，總讓人感覺很美味。
