- Hi Folks,
Here's a look at the TRK-8000E Radio Cassette Recorder from Hitachi. I open up and tear down the unit in this video, along with cleaning up the casing. The cassette mechanism does not play or rewind, so it gets a service and new belts, and I restore the mechanism switch functionality. Also, the volume was very crackly and the right channel was dropping out, so that gets sorted here too.

Hi there , I have just purchased one of these , after months of scouring eBay and the like ! . My wife has put it away for my birthday ( 28-03 ) . I gave it a quick look over before she put it away , radio works fine , usual problem of tape not working ( belts ? ) , motor sounds ok . Some I have seen , have back lit vu’s and radio window , does yours ? ( could this be a retro fit ? ) . I will be watching your servicing of this beauty ( especially belts changing ) with eager anticipation ! . By the way , can you buy a servicing kit ( belts ) easily ? . Best regards rob
