When i was 13 i had an rm400..was a good time.then a close friend bought a cr480 and ive never forgotten it.he was around 20yrs old i was only around 12-13 but yea ive just bought an 83 cr480.cost a fortune but hey...cant take the money with you right lol.great channel man.awsum bikes.
I raced a CR480R in '83 and you described the power delivery perfectly. It is the easiest open class bike I've ever ridden other than the '81 Maico 490. Both easy to ride fast. It's like Honda cloned the Maico, except for the rear end. Thanks for the memories.
Sweet looking bikes. I used a have a cr 450r . Pretty much the same bike with a bit less power I would think. Sure was fun to ride that bike. Sadly I was moving, and had to sell it...
In one of them has a 82 motor in it it's the works good on different tracks fun motorcycles to ride! Wish I could find a a left side clutch cover they certainly don't look as nice as your's
AMAZING CR's 480 !!! Thanks for the information about the filter to check i never noticed that. I usualy do not like the black rims but I like the ones you put on the 480, It looks very Good , i am changing my mind..:)) A very very Thanks for all the videos about these Fantastics bikes, It's always a real pleasure, you rules Charlie !
Yes, definitely personal taste with the rims. I always try to run the stock wheels and if I do have to rebuild them and do new rims I definitely love the gold or black.
Go to the Asvinvetions.com web site and in find your bike do 1984 Honda XR 250. For the clutch do the C6 series off-road pro model clutch lever. The model is CDC6o6PX including perch $180. For the brake lever choose the C6 and this will be just the lever for $120.
But then I can not race them in the 1981 - 1983 GP3 class. That class (this year bike) is not permitted to have disc brakes when racing it in it's official class and must be period correct. If I did want to ride a bike with disc brake I would take out my 1986 CR 250 or 500.
I have an 83 480r as well, unhook the blue (rev limit) wire on the cdi box. You won't believe it but the top end comes alive!
Interesting I will have to try that.
I have a 82 Honda Cr 480

That open class grunt is such a cool feeling & super fun to ride. Beautiful machines!
Yes, they are so fun to ride! A must have for any serious Mx rider to have fun on.

Gorgeous restorations Charlie 🥰
Thank you Chris…means a lot 👊🏼
I've collected three of these two of them have 83 motors in
I would’ve gone gold rims
Yes great choice as well.
I also have a 83 480. Do you know where I can get a set fenders and number plates
Yes, go to www.VMXracing.com for number plates and fenders. On my 1983’s I use the 1986 CR triple trees that accept the 1986 CR front number plates.
what asv levers do you use?

Do you still have the 1984 KX500?
Looking at your shop your fucking loaded
The 1984 forks with the disc brake are a slip fit very easy to do.
