Something people often forget are specific driving gloves. Professional driving gloves make a huge difference.

I like the idea of a bug out vehicle. I always keep some basics in my truck and the rest of my gear would only take a few minutes to load up and I usually keep the fuel topped off in case shtf.

Another good video, keep it up. Living in north idaho I also roll around with tire chains for all 4 tires and a shovel. Have needed both on more than one occasion. All my vehicles are equipped with electric recovery winches. I consider them cheap insurance and will easily pay for themselves compared to a backcountry emergency tow bill. Self recovery is another link in the preparedness chain. More often then not you will find either an electric chainsaw or small gas saw in the bed of the truck. Downed limbs and trees have a way of presenting themselves at inconvenient times. Also gives you the ability to quickly establish a warming fire should you find yourself stuck.

Thanks for the compliments, good to hear about your preparedness measures! The chainsaw in the back of your truck is a good idea, I might just have to copy you on that this winter! Thanks again for watching and commenting!

Chainsaw is also a good way to block a road behind you, a side road heading toward your camp ect

I also carry a full size crowbar, medium size bolt cutter, full size shovel, an aluminum blade “grain scoop”shovel for moving lots of snow fast and a 200 watt power inverter that plugs into the 12v power point (cigarette lighter). In my part of Idaho the highway dept. uses magnesium chloride to keep the roads clear of ice but it also is extremely corrosive on my old truck and Jeep TJ so in about a month I’ll spray down the undercarriage and alloy wheels with a spray bottle of WD 40 that I can refill with a gallon can of the stuff .

Very cool, there are definitely some items I probably could have added.. work in progress I guess.. thanks for watching!

Practical, appropriate consumer friendly. Can move stuff blocking road, refuel and covered the bases, comm's, boo-boo kit, coffee, gun and shelter. Maybe add handheld wood/limb saw. Best of all doesn't draw attention. Just another old truck on the road. Nothing like hiding in plain sight.

Thank you very much for your compliment and for watching my video! Funny I was just looking at electric chainsaws that I could add to my vehicle emergency gear. Thanks again for watching!

Love the older trucks. Miss mine. I was able to keep more stuff. I now have a newer with push to start (FOB) 🔑. Just learned if battery in key dies u r dead in the water. So now I've added my spare FOB key & a new spare battery for it wrapped up in tin foil & keep it in my glove box.

My truck is a 2002 silverado 4x4 , with 270,000 miles on it and running strong! So long as you keep them well maintained they will go and go and go! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Those lithium battery packs are great but two things you should keep in mind. 1) they need a recharge once a year bare minimum some brands every few months due to having a self discharge. Happens especially fast in colder temps 2) They lose power over the years, The first one I ever bought would start up my 86 Silverado with a 5.7L pretty much instantly when I first bought it. Fast forward 5 years and it struggles to jump start my wife's car with a 1.9L 3cyl.

I would like to see a video of essential items to keep in the vehicle if you travel for work and live in hotels. Obviously you can’t take everything that you would have at home. Whenever anything goes down, I will probably be in a hotel several states from home. I avoid flying now and always drive my vehicle (or a rental).

Thanks for sharing. I watch a lot of similar videos but seems all the guys are single Rambo types. Would love to see some content about how to incorporate the “indoor” wife type.

What brand of boots do you have on there? I’ve been looking for that style, they look comfortable and like they can be durable for a get home scenario.

They are made by Ryno Tactical.. they’re very comfortable and very affordable but they only last for about a year if you’re working in them everyday.. you can order them here: amzn.to/473gZIG thanks for watching!!
