Maggie idk you, but as a Black man who grew up watching BET, I REALLY appreciate the respect and candor you showed to Ms. Johnson. The fact that you created a safe, knowledgeable, and respectful space for a Black female billionaire to express her challenges and acumen is really top-notch professionalism and skill.
You both ate this interview, and I could tell Ms. Johnson really respected your conversation and interviewing skills here.

I dont take ppl seriously that dont understand because you have to be educated. The thing they do not mention which is misleading, is her support and coming from a rich family. Regardless of how "toxic" her relationship was (assuming she's referencing Bob), she's incredibly lucky to have married and bore children to an eventual media magnate and industry titan. Just like Juanita Jordan (Michael's Ex), once that divorce settlement paper's ink was dry, poof! like magic, she instantly became one of the richest Black Women in America. Well done.

I loved this interview and more so I am so happy to find out that she is the person behind the show Teen Summit. I watched that show on BET growing up and I still carry some of the things I learned from that. I learned politics from watching that because of them bringing Hilary Clinton on that show. WOW!! I aspire to be like Mrs. Sheila Johnson she is fierce and confident.

I absolutely loved her content contributions to BET!! I was an avid subscriber to team Summit. I learned so much about various topics that were affecting my age group in the 90s and early 2000s. I noticed an ongoing trend with recommendations for therapy, after you’ve been abused, whether it’s in a relationship or in a work environment. I am also proud Bohemian woman, who draws strength from my ancestors and the Haitian revolution. The Haitian revolution told me to fight back against intimidation in the source of fear. In 2024, fighting back is remaining strong and understanding that there are outside forces trying to break me down, for the sole purpose of control. if you keep your faith first and head of all situations, you can avoid mental damage that requires therapy. I know everyone can’t take my approach. this is what makes me a leader, because I’m able to maintain with my own devices. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

"He's a brilliant businessman," she tells Pulley, but adds that extramarital affairs "were his biggest problem. He has got a body count." The couple divorced in late 2002. In the book, Sheila Johnson also reveals that she was fired from BET by her husband in the late 1990s."
      -Washington Post
"Sheila Johnson cofounded cable TV channel Black Entertainment Network in 1979 with her then-husband Robert. Viacom bought it for $3 billion in 2001.
After her divorce in 2002, she sold her BET shares and has since invested in hotels in Florida and Virginia, real estate and horses.
