I work in a luxury department store. I see all the time…Multiple credit cards to pay for Logo’d designer pieces. Gucci, YSL, Cartier. But…Black Amex’s, limitless Coutts cards etc for the subtle non branded pieces. The Row, Annoushka Jewellery, Botegga Veneta
Luxury items like handbags and shoes last for years.I used to buy them in the 80s. My items have lasted 30 to 35 years. They used to work for all incomes but not these few years.
I have many Ecuadorian friends that wear nothing but big name clothes while earning little above minimum wage. I make $350k and only my shoes are name brand.
I make on average $800k a year. I like a nice car, nice watch, very comfortable home, eat well. I don’t really care about anything else. I love walking into a restaurant knowing I’m not dressed the look but make more than 99.5% of everyone in the place
I like Balenciaga but I buy reps because I literally cannot afford their products. I usually don't even buy products with logos. I literally enjoy the designs. For me the long lasting feeling of enjoying sneakers that look like tires or a purse that looks like a garbage bag is what does it for me. I don't even care what other people think. Most people hate Balenciaga anyway.

Idk about shoes and clothes, but expensive watches are expensive for a reason.

The problem is we care sooo much about environment but destroying completely good things is still legal, it makes no sense and this carbon footprint
