Hello, at 0:48, you disconnected the clip and accidentally touched a black molded hose with 2 hose clamps on each end. It's also a component of the cooling system. I would really like to know the part number of that or the size to find a replacement for my car. It's a short heater hose piece (about 3 inches)
Having trouble taking off the back im using the 10mm socket but it just wont come off the 2 front ones came out easyy? would you happened to know the problem? Or how i can get it fixed
Hi, my 2007 v6 mustang has been leaking antifreeze from there lately. I have filled it up but lately I feel that when I stop at a traffic light it smells a lot of antifreeze and I feel that it is very hot, I am afraid that the engine will overheat but my temperature needle never goes above half, when I scan it the temperature remains at 110 degrees and turn on fans, what is the temperature that should turn on the fans? Changing that leak will fix that problem?
If the thermostat is leaking, I would suggest either a new gasket or a new housing with the thermostat included. Both are available to purchase at your local auto parts store.
My 3 bolts to my thermostat housing just keep spinning around, and now they won't tighten back up. I put it back together and I hope it doesn't leak. Any suggestions?
VERY late but if it happens again id say check the thread of both the bolt n the housing. if its just a rusty bolt u could replace but it could be the housing being rusted since its older now
I need to replace my thermostat and I want to try and do it myself. I have the right tools, and with the right guidance I'm sure I can do it but knowing myself I'm scared I'm going to fuck SOMETHING up somehow.
If this is the problem, it will overheat eventually. We had a Mustang overheat recently with this problem. Also, check your radiator for holes and make sure the fan turns on when the A/C is running. Those things can also cause the reservoir to boil.
My problem is that the thermostat gasket is leaking and when i turn on my car and drive it overheats because of the coolant is there a way i can send you the pictures?
My coolant spilled everywhere when I removed the hose and I had several cuts on my hands, do you think I should go to the doctor for antifreeze poisoning
Yo that gasket is a bit too big don’t you think? Anyway . Everything went wrong lol I over tightened the screw now it spins loose and isn’t sealed . Leaks more than before . Ffffffff -_- but it’s fine there’s coolant sitting behind over the block I want to remove the bottom piece aswell to get my hand back there and clean that off.
I would suggest replacing the entire thermostat housing. That should eliminate any leaks. @@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC thank you. But that one looks like the upper hose will be angle up too high . Plus I don’t recommend anyone going plastic housing. The motorcraft one already suck imagine a 20$ one. I bought a doorman brand today and the thing already warped at the seam hahaha …. Let’s see how the aluminum one works
Watched the video, went to the garage, grabbed an 8mm, a 10mm, and a common screwdriver. Thermostat changed in minutes. Thank you!
Do you know if this exact o-ring fits a 2005. It says on O Reilly that it doesn’t fit 2005 model.
The 2005 gt version*
Thank you! Got my own parts for 50 bucks from Ford instead of some mechanic shop charging me for labor and parts
Did it myself whoop whoop thank you so much

Thank you so much really straight to the point 🙌🙌
Quick question, did you drain any of the coolant before taking the thermostat off ?
Just be careful taking off the hose itself, it'll drain alot of coolant on your belt if you don't have a rag or handy bucket to catch it with
I laked the video and the way you explained! Thanks
Hi do you have a video of how to replace a thermostat housing on a 2005-2009 Ford Mustang?
When you unplug the connectors, do you reccomend unplugging the battery?
Always
Great video man helped me alot thanks
Amazing! Great video.

Same is happing to mine i cant take it out

I’m having the same issue
Yea i used an electric socket wrench if you want to go the easier route you can take off the whole thermostat housing

I dropped a bolt inside once I removed the thermostat housing any ideas how I can get it out or what I dropped it in
Just turn the engine sideways and shake it out like a jar
Great video thnks

How do you disconnect de clips of the sensors??
Changed my thermostat an gasket, my temp still drops to cold, help me out please
Might be the stepper motor or head temperature sensor
Ima borrow those two tools and do it myself, try to attempt it to save money

Would this cause the coolant/radiator reservoir to boil and belt to squeak?my car isn't overheating temp gauge is fine.

You good guy
Thank you
The 3 bolts didnt wanna come off is there a reason why

@@oscaralvarado9526 okay so what i did instead of replacing the gasket i just replaced the whole housing it will be hard if you have big hands though

hey would you happened to have an instagram account i have so many questions about a 05 mustang i have
@@oscaralvarado9526 did you ever take it off
Hello is this on the v6 motor?
Yes. V6 motor
@@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC thank you
Will this work for the mustang 2010 V6?
It should. The engine is essentially the same as a 2009.
My coolant spilled everywhere when I removed the hose and I had several cuts on my hands, do you think I should go to the doctor for antifreeze poisoning
Lol no just wash your hands. Antifreeze is only Dangerous if you ingested or get it in your eyes.
The housing is still leaking a d suggestions???
The housings (plastic) can develop cracks over time. You probably need to replace the entire housing.
30 mins of minor labor and a 20 dollar part vs 120 parts and labor at a shop

It is a V6 Mustang
Oh this is the v6
Not the right fix ... Those housings warp .. Get an aluminum one will never leak again
God i hate this vehicle and Ford. They have to make everything at least moderately difficult to change out.
