This might seem like common sense but when I was a new hairstylist I never knew this foil highlight hack until somebody taught me. And it was life-changing 🤯 Before I tell you my 3 biggest highlight tips, save this post the next time you are highlighting long hair so you can try this!📌 I used to get spotting all the time. Especially on the mids and I had no idea why! So here are three foil highlight tips that helped me get the most even lift as a new hairstylist. 1️⃣ Mix the right viscosity with your lightener. Not too thick and not too thin so you can make sure that the saturation is perfect for penetrating both sides of the hair. I’m using @kenraprofessional Blue Powder at a 1:2 2️⃣ Open the hair in the foil with your brush to make sure we’re really working that product in. I kinda show this a little bit in the video but let me know down below if you want me to elaborate in a new video. 3️⃣ Fold your hair over into the foil and never swirl it around! When you swirl it, you’ll never know if you’re getting all sides of the hair and possibly creating uneven lift. Keep practicing everything is hard when we first do it. Remember your first haircut? How about your first color application but as you use the board you’ll find that you’ll get better saturation, lift and results. You got this.
