Apocalypse Class likely make for the best command ships for Admirals and Lord Admirals as the can still be at a fair distance from the front of an Imperial Battlefleet, allowing them to command better without taking the brunt/bringing the attention of most Enemy fire. They also have to have good Auspex sensors, and could give good command data for the Admiral to work with accurate Fleet data as the battle progresses, allowing for faster reaction times in command. Best for a Lord Admiral or Rear Admiral to command. The Vice Admiral (typically assigned to the Vanguard/Spearpoint position) should take the Retribution Battleship. If one has access to all 4 “common” Battleships in the Imperial Navy simultaneously (Apocalypse, Retribution, Oberon, and Emperor), it would likely make the best tactical sense to place the Vice Admiral in the front with a Retribution, Admiral/Lord Admiral and High command of the fleet in the Middle in the Oberon and Emperor Battleships, while the Rear Admiral takes up the rearmost position with the Apocalypse class.
I just had an idea. What if you took a emperor class and apocalypse class and combined them literally. Simply take and emperor class turn it upside down and attach it to the underside of the apocalypse and add armor and decks to the middle part of the vessel to truly combine the vessels and make one ship. Boom 1 ship with firepower and aircraft!
I like this ship. Less of a Chance for me to get my Teeth Kicked in. Though i would prefer an emperor, because its fighters can support even in Ground combat.
hashtag facepalm... :D:D:D . For "sniper ship" it would be better to have some cloaking, or other means of evading detection before firing and evading charge of eventual rest of the enemy fleet. Tactic-wise i see it more as an artilery ship. Ment to clean the number of enemy escorts (from the midle of its own fleet) or focus on quick hurting enemy flagship, if revealed. BTW i would tremble, if some one shot "anti space hulk" ammo for nova canon emerges, but thats unlikely. Nevertheless, great vid GMD. Thank you.
Usually i am doing my best to not send baseless nagging against fluff, but failure is always an option. I am lucky, that your sense of humour and wh40k fluff profficiency did defuse those of my fails for "informed opinion", that passed to the screen so far... Regarding voidship tactics, i think the game "dreadnought" can be precieved an etalon to some measure. Maybe the fights are done on longer distances (not "in sight" but "in sensor range" - ie on the distances the crews can not usually "see" each other witouth sensors.
