Peanut butter blossoms are my husband's favorite. Well anything with peanut butter is going to melt his heart. I love the farmhouse apron. Another favorite in our house is chili. I always make double. It freezes well for a quick meal for another day.

I forget which comments I’ve actually left and which ones I’ve just thought, so in case I’ve never told you, I really enjoy your videos. You remind me of my cousin who I had all sorts of adventures with growing up. We were both farm girls and loved exploring the outdoors and making things. Our family loves Chex Party Mix. Over the years we have customized our favorite mix. We do the original recipe for the sauce but use lots of salted mixed nuts or just cashews, gold fish crackers, mini pretzels, bagel chips and of course the 3 Chex cereals. I usually make a double or sometimes a triple batch during the season. My kids would disown me if they came home and there wasn’t any Chex mix!!! 😂

Something to consider in the late winter/early spring, is a weekly routine for young ladies who are choosing to stay home as their full time job (Proverbs 31:27).I think there is a need for resources for young ladies. Perhaps your mother and sister would help put together a series of the best routines you carry on from your Amish roots that are useful to everyone. I think you are such a wonderful teacher and example of a Proverb 31 wife and mother.

I make dozens of the chocolate covered Ritz crackers every year for family and friends. A few years ago I read where someone suggested using one of the smaller (2 quart) crock pots to melt the chocolate. I've been doing this ever since, so easy.

I agree with you on the making up a batch of hot chocolate and having it ready for whenever. I make a non-dairy version which uses the blender to mix up. Then I just shake the bottle, pour out what I want and reheat in the microwave. Instant enough for me! Yum!

I always make the peanut blossom cookies every year too. Our family are homemade soup eaters also. Our favorite is chicken and vegetables. I make this soup with a bag of mixed frozen vegetables and add potatoes and onions in a large pot filled with chicken broth and water. I add some different spices like Italian seasoning or anything I might have that is good for chicken. I will add a can of white chicken breast drain to the mixture just before the soup is ready. If it is too runny I will add a little corn starch in a small bowl mixed with cold water and slowly add it to the finish soup. Every year I think I will try your recipe for the party mix and I never get around to trying it. Maybe this year……. Thank you for sharing. Ann from Va.

I make party mix every year and add lots of nuts. I put it in a large roaster and after the time and mixing it up I leave it in the oven overnight turning the oven off. Makes it really crispy.

Yeah, Mary cookies! My Mom never made these but when I first tasted them, I was hooked.
I also never had a dishwasher...just did them as I cooked then placed fresh HOT dishwater in the sink just before eating, for doing dishes right after supper. We also are not big chocolate lovers...my husband loved the old world German cookies with anise or any molasses cookies.

Greetings Mary from mid Missouri! The ritz peanut butter cookies we call Aunt Josie cookies in our family because it was my ex husbands aunt Josie who first made them for us nearly 35 years ago. I make them (by demand lol) every year since for Christmas…but as several have mentioned , I make half with white chocolate and I actually prefer those to milk chocolate. I also make hot cocoa rather than buying the store bought . Always use milk , never water! That’s sacrilegious lol

It was really neat to see someone else than my family make chili soup. We were born and raised in the UP and that was an all time favorite. We moved to Ok in 1981 and in time discovered their chili is a little different. It is not a soup and is thicker and is put on top of pasta or Fritos etc. It was just a nice surprise when you made chili soup. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to “ visiting” you. 😊
