A friend of mine said he went home on leave after BCT/AIT. After Thanksgiving dinner they sat down and watched the evening news. They described the heavy fighting 4th ID was engaged in. He said 6 days later he was in Vietnam fighting with the 4th!
Sargent Major, welcome home. Job well done. US 69/71 11B.

As Great a generation as any , their service and sacrifice equally measured with that of our forefathers.

I too served in the 1/14th infantry from early 1967 until feb 6 1968 when I was wounded at a place we called lz hardcore. We had 40 killed and 150 wounded there in 20 days. Make no mistake, ssg Powell is speaking the truth. Welcome home brother.
Thank you. I would enjoy hearing your story sometime. Where do you live?
Welcome home, thank you so much for your service, sir.👊🏻🇺🇸
Much appreciated. Thank you for your comments.
Interesting gentleman. Seems quite the nice fellow. One of us good ole Texas boys.
You've got that right! Yes, I've done a lot of work in Texas with our military Veterans and I've gone into schools in Texas teaching students about freedom and the price for freedom.
I had a friend that was a combat medic in the 4th ID. He served with the 4th Infantry Division, 2nd Squadron, 1st Cavalry, Headquarters Troop and was killed in 2/1968, about 2 weeks before he was scheduled to come home. His mom never did recover emotionally, I don't think. I don't know of many families that could.
Thank you for your comment.
Is the radio station on Surius XM? Or is it an actual radio station?? And I've been a supporter for years sir, I always like, subscribe and comment... I WOULD donate if I wasn't unemployed, sir I mean that from the bottom of my heart. This channel is special for me in particular because my grandfather was a Green Beret with Ether 4 or 5 tours in Vietnam and I never got to talk to him...these men and women are so special and each of them hsve there own special story
Thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate it. God bless you as you continue watching and sharing these stories.
What kind of sqd ldr let's his squad sleep in a duce1/2 in a combat zone? Your exposed and inside a target!
