Man you’ve come so far from your humble beginnings. This is the result of hard work and focus. Trial and tribulations, failures and successes. I’ve learned so much from your channel. And I thank you for all your help with this hobby. ✌🏻
Lots of plants can look great. I prefer Not so many fish and not so many different fish in a tank. Better chilled than restless. But you habe both in the gallery.
@MD Fish Tanks Would love to see another shot at the Archer fish, you had them for such a little amount of time before moving to your new studio, we didn't get to see enough of them!
Wow! Just wow! I don't know what to say other than it's masterwork upon masterwork, one following another. You make living art. You really have a gift for designing truly beautiful looking scapes.
I enjoyed this update so much! Thank you MD! I’ve learnt so much from you already I’m going to help my best friend out with her tank on Tuesday! She’s got issues with algae & fish waste constantly cleaning and doing water changes every week (she doesn’t have any substrate, just pebbles & fake silk plants) but with the help of your videos we will sort it out! I’ve made a list of exactly what we need to help her tank out from binge watching ur videos & I’m very excited! 😆
Enjoyed the studio tour, MD! I did experience some PTSD when you mentioned Cladophora. I really hope it doesn't take over the studio the way it did in my aquariums. I've had to work hard to eradicate it after it spread everywhere!
Wow, that was the most beautiful ciklid tank I have ever seen! I have never liked ciklids, apart from dwarf ciklids like rams and apistogrammas, and never liked ciklid tanks. This looks like a paradise island in the sea with the sky all around it 🌅☀️. So light and airy, and the fish like sunbeams from gleaming in the sand and sea. Maybe I can like some ciklids now. Would really like to have a tank like this! So beautiful!
Love this. Thanks MD. Great tour! Getting all my tanks and ponds ready for me being away for a week for my day job. I know you relate. Again, really appreciated you taking time to talk to me in Dallas.
That bowl is of the most beautiful things I’ve seen you made on that video. I wonder what kind of paper thing you use for the cover on the background of the fish tanks. Sometimes you use black or white.
You shouold try Sailfin Tetras, they are so amazing, one male has gotten really really big now aswell. Have them in a 110L aquarium now for 6 month and really love them. Attitude tough fish thats also very gorgeous and beautiful to look at
You had me hooked on your videos since the first one i saw about a year ago. I love your style of fish keeping, the way you do your tanks, everything. I have learned so much from your videos and yours are the first ones i look for when i open up youtube!
Awesome. I use plants as cover. Works the same. But we all now you could do a planted scape, so go with rocks! 😊 Malawi rarely get bloat. Never happened for me in 20 years. Lake T! With Tropheus and stuff are super sensitive to bloat. Amazingly that yiu are where you are. So well deserved. Thanks Mate 🍻 !
Shop updates are always a pleasure to watch. Thanks MD, for doing them. There's such a variety of fish, and I wish I could go shopping at your place! LOL
Loved the female betta tank, so much of everything, so much life and I think this what is about, promote life in the underwater world, thanks for your showcase, just amazing man great job. Thanks.
So beautiful, M.D.! Your enjoyment of all of your fish friends and Timmy! Is contagious! Thanks for another inspirational update! Love your channel! Mad respect from California! P.s. always love seeing Kate and the kids!
Have you ever done a video showing your process for trimming the plants and maintaining the tanks? How much time do you spend on maintenance across your whole studio?
Been binge watching your videos and have learned a lot. Encouraged me to get back into aquariums after many years. My wife wasn't thrilled but now after seeing some of your vids she is really getting into it also. Good work 😂
A heater to the struggeling Betta, in his hospital tank? Just bc he's ill? Give it a try, if he likes it he'll be very happy and heal quicker. All your tanks looks smashing, thank you for showing us.
Thanks for the update, will be so good to see Discus back in the studio. Question: do you still have your goldfish, haven’t seen them in any of your videos in a while.
All of the ranchus died. Exactly the same as my last lot. This time, I made sure to feed them blood worms, duckweed and sinking pellets and they all got buoyancy issues and faded away. Not at the same time but over a few months. Never again. There were zero nitrates in the tank or anything else so I know I did everything right. Just one of those fish. I gave it another shot but that's it now.
@@MDFishTanks sorry to hear that MD. At least you know it’s the way the fish are breed and nothing you did. As is evidence by how healthy your other fish are.
@@MDFishTanksoof, that's rough. But thanks for the update. We all know you're very knowledgeable and conscientious about keeping animals, so when a tank or species doesn't work out, it's not for the lack of trying.
@@MDFishTanks Would love to see you do a video about this. Shows the reality of fishkeeping isnt always glamorous and that the breeding of certain fish should be thought about differently.
I swear everytime I finish a tank I look around my condo and think yep. That was it the last one I needed. The MD drops a video like this and I'm like well there's probably a cool tank on Facebook marketplace for free let me look lol. 😂😂
Fr tho always loved fish tanks but ur videos has saved a lot of fishy lives and turned it from an eyesore to something my girlfriend thinks is pretty in the house. We even have a turtle now. Ur vids rock man
MD! I’m such a fan! You’ve really inspired a lot of my tank designs and I really enjoy the hobby so much more because of you!! I love all of your shrimp and betta content 😊 how about a barbie themed scape for the new movie! 😂
As always, great content! And as always, very fun to watch your progress! Wishful thinking about a tank full of aponogeton or barclaya longifolia or giant crypts or large red brazilian swords 😁. Waiting patiently for the next viedo 😊
You are the reason I have Boesemani rainbows. Fav Fish :0 Its time for a shark tank. Red tail black sharks , balas, and barbs would be cool to see you scape!!!
Love every video 😊 if you sir have a chance, can you review the black ghost knife fish and maybe set up a tank for this fish, because i think it's a very cool fish
Md, Rocket killifish also only live for a year or so. in the wild they only live 1 rainy season so in our tanks they can double or tripple that, which is still only a year or so.. my oldest was 1y and 3 months.. a male wih a super long beautiful tail!
Monthly updates=best idea. Cause I dont want the tanks continually pulled down. I grow attached to the fish and want to see them grow up and get older. keep them coming. I would like to see a monthly video of each of the bigs tanks seprately and all the little ones together, personally. BTW: whens the 6footer coming for your mbuna? That is not going to be a big enough tank imo. GO BIG, Matt!!
Love all your content MD but please do a salt water aquarium, scape it with corals maybe, I'm sure it'd look cool and great for these tour videos to see how it evolves 🐟🐠🐙
Would love to see a comparison or hear your thoughts on 4ft tanks that are different widths. E.g 4x2 and 4x1.5 i cant quite fit a 4x2 in my room so think it will have to be 4ftx1.5ft so limited on scape potential a bit.
You play a pretty big part in why i got my first aquarium and im loving it, however i went with Saltwater and i hope someday to see you give a nano reef tank a try :)
Beautiful tanks and so many beautiful fish! I love the swords and mollies tank. 😍 What happened to the white guppies/endlers you had? I didn't see them in this vid.
Great tour, looking forward to the discus tank. Have you ever had apple snails? I know they were banned at one time, but with the ban lifted, would you consider getting some? Just curious about the mouth on one of your gold tetras, seems different than the others. Kuhli loaches would be an interesting addition to one of your tanks.
Thanks for the tour MD! I was wondering, with all the low tech tanks, and not so much waterchange. Isnt there fungal diseases or water quality issues sometimes? I have a similar densely planted tank setup with clay/ fine gravel/soil in bottom and sand ontop, so like abit most of your tanks, the water is hard, looks clear, the values are fine, flow so the plants move only abit, abit water movement in surface only in right side. Fish seem active and eat. But they dont breed. Except for guppies. Setup is 360l with a too powerful pump as recommended. Theres 45 fish, small ones 1-3cm and four adult flying foxes. But ive had an issue for many years with a few fish getting symptoms on bad water quality like hole in head disease, popeye, fin rot, stringy poop. The recent year there has been nothing of all that, but there is a funguslike not very visible stuff in the mouth of a fish, it gets weak over time and dies eventually. Its active and eating until ot cant. Its horrible to watch..Ive tried more frequent 40% waterchanges, weekly, treat the fungus, treat the parasite, if it was that, But still, one fish keeps being ill, one at a time. I havent treated for anything in months since im clueless about what it is. Theres no other symptoms than the thing by its mouth. Ive only seen the guppy who ate the floating plant be ill in your tank. It looked like its back was crooked, a symptom of having had many many babies i think. My guess is she didnt make it, but they can live some time being crooked happily. How do you handle it if the water quality affects he fish badly? Hope you can consider talking about that. Although you dont have that old tanks like my five year old tank, you stil might know something new. Thanks ❤ Like in my tank i suspect.

I think the food web in Malawi circles around most of the cichlids eating on the (red/brown) algae on all the rocks, right? Might do them good to graze around like little cattle, if you get many rocks and lots of algae on them 🐮
I've noticed you've got a skimmer on the inflow of malawi aquarium filter and its bouncing up and down. How do you stop it from happening? Mine does the same and alot of air goes into the filter itself and it stops working properly.
