Hey, JS! After this nightmare, I would be staying away from Air Canada. It's not a fun experience, I'm sure. I hope your flight back is a lot more pleasant. 😊

Air Canada delayed my flight from New Jersey to Toronto over 1 hours. Another time I was on air Canada flight could not fix the airplane and relocate into a new airplane. I remember one time in Florida air Canada call security guards over canceling flight.
Wow, it looks like you all have to stay at the airport all night due to the issue AIR CANADA ran into so the flight got rescheduled to the next morning.
Last April, flight from Montreal to Tokyo was delayed and I missed my connection in NRT to BKK. Spend the night in Tokyo. Air Canada had hotel and food arranged. I had almost the exact same experience on an AC flight to Heathrow (same time as your flight). Got an email just as I was about to leave home for Pearson that the 11:40 flight was delayed till 2 AM. I rebooked my airport taxi & got to Pearson afetr 10:30pm. Upon checking in, I got a $20 voucher for food. Everything was closed at that hour. I flew business class & was looking forward to the special lounge, but it was closed by the time I arrived. Unlike your flight, my delayed flight took off at 2AM. I was so tired I barely ate my meal, and I dozed off during most of the movie I watched. Thank goodness I flew Business class to get a decent night's sleep on the special seats. Next trip to Heathrow I'll take an earlier flight. Maybe even a different airline! The late-night flight you and I dealt with seems to be cursed...LOL!
