I gotta ask...how much of that was actually scripted, and how much was Matt just being Matt? I assume, the bit at the end would have to be scripted, but there's a lot of improv opportunity in the middle there. And on a random other note, that set design is impressive.
Fawlty Towers was absolutely hilarious. John Cleese is an amazing actor, and has done a lot of the physical kinds of things that Mr. Meese was doing in this sketch. I would have to agree with goodial that Fawlty Towers is a good thing to watch.
This is what we call an overactive imagination taken to the extreme. I don’t think this would have been nearly as funny if the dad were actually there having the conversation with him. Great job!
I shall never forget that this was my first Studio C sketch! And now Studio C is like a medicine, that you take once daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays!
I don’t think some people realize how hard that is to do. He was able to show a whole conversation without having someone to talk to without the audience getting confused and the whole thing still felt very natural. Acting can be very hard without someone to work off of but he made it look so easy. There’s a reason you don’t see many one man shows, because it’s really hard to make them good with only one person. He did a great job.
+Grace Plonsky Is that Luna Lovegood? Guys, I just figured out, Harry Potter was born in 1980, and he was 17 in the battle of Hogwarts, then there's a 19 years later right? So the year of the 19 years later is 2016, which (duh) is this year! So if you live in London, pls check out or visit Kings Cross station on September the first and see if you can spot Harry, Ginny and their kids😘😘😘
fight choreography in general is pretty difficult but he had to do it with...himself. He made it look really convincing and fully committed to the the actions/stunts, which makes it really impressive! huge respect to Matt Meese!
And they did get married. They had two children named Stephen and Whitney, and a dog named Scruffy. They moved into a nice house with neighbors named Frank and Marsha. Sometimes Frank and Marsha would come over to play bridge with them. Matt's father visited often, as well as the grandmother of little Stephen and Whitney. Until the one day that it all fell apart... Reference to other video.
This was truly one of the best sketches every made. Matt always makes the sketches better, there couldn't be Studio C without him. Thanks for always making me laugh Matt!! You guys need to do more "Shoulder Angel" sketches!!!
Matt handles the whole "invisible man" thing very well!!!!! Can we just take a second to admire his backflip into the table?!?!? Btw- his screams are priceless 😂😂😂😂😂
Matt's acting is so incredible that he makes me belive that there is actually someone else talking to him and that it isn't just him! amazing! God job, man👌
Matt is SO DANG TALENTED! No clue how he pulled off all those stunts and still made it look like he was ACTUALLY struggling with another person. This was not only hilarious, it was also amazing!
As a thespian, I really enjoyed watching this because I can imagine all the hard work that goes into doing a whole scene with an imaginary person... As a normal person, I really enjoyed this because it was HILARIOUS!
Amazing! Matt is incredibly talented to pull that whole thing off - especially near the end when it gets so physical! ('Throwing' himself over the couch? Wow!)
Matt's acting skills sre awesome! Especially considering the fact that he was talking to no one and fighting with no one! Also I wonder how many they had to do this!
Same here. Everyone thinks I'm shy, but I'm just imagining a conversation between the person and me actually happening. So maybe I am a bit shy.... But I'm not in my head!
+slytheringirl1 Oh my gosh same!!!!! Sometimes I remember previous conversations and I laugh randomly in the hallway, or picture conversations, and people look at me like I'm crazy
+slytheringirl1 Also, everyone thinks I'm mad all the time, because I look like I am, but I'm not. Actually, I'm generally a happy person...most of the time...
OMG!!! This was the greatest performance I've ever seen! I haven't had laugh this much in years. Great script - love that intelligence... I am glad to find Studio C out !!!

I just love how almost every Studio C video starts off normal and ends up getting pretty strange towards the end.

The "you broke the other lamp" sounds improvised but if Matt wrote the sketch then it could be either
I like to imagine that they just told matt the general vibe they were going for & let his chaos goblin energy take over from there

one of the most clever, funny sketches i have ever seen! matt meese is truly the MAN the MYTH the LEGEND!!
Scott Sterling! Clever
His having a conversation with an imaginary person could be because of his repeated head trauma.
