"Sometimes, a man just need to explain something." That is very true. I was talking to my Dad about A Kind of Spark on BYUTV a few weeks ago, and he just started randomly explaining the battle plans of American troops from World War 1 for five entire minutes before letting me finish what I was saying.
So; a boorishly persistent change of subject to his own preferred knowledge base? Interesting alternate definition. 🤓 Note the world of difference between that and the example in the video. The character's point has immediate, practical importance. He might even be concerned about carcinogens, and that would make it a matter of health and safety. It may be counterintuitive, but a man explaining isn't automatically "mansplaining." The term is misleading in that way.
"Here, it's just called 'explaining'." I practically cried. A "just in case" flashlight and a classic Lazyboy? Did my dad consult on this? We need a place like this.
When I was younger my dad gave me a nice flashlight to keep by my bed in case of a power outage ❤ both for safety and because I was scared of the dark 😊
The part about explaining vs mansplaining low-key melted me a little bit. I know this is comedy but I feel like I understand both my dad and my husband better now 😄🫠
1:41 this is so true. I ask my dad what the temperature is and next thing I know it’s been an hour and I now know how to change my oil and check my tire pressure
My favorite thing about my dad is either his amazing story telling that can get anyone laughing to tears or how he can strike up a conversation with literally anyone… I know that’s cliche but it’s the God honest truth 😂😂😂
Good snapshot at 1:23 of why semantics make a difference. It's not mansplaining when in the absence of clear condescension and at least one woman who could have explained the same point herself.
I’m gonna show this sketch to my dad first chance I get lol (I’ll come back to tell you guys his reaction) Edit: I showed it to my dad, he laughed out loud! He said this was one of your best :)
Oh. My. Goodness. You're right! She DOES look just like Donald Glover Jr! I knew she looked familiar in that guise I just couldn't quite place it, but that's TOTALLY what it is! Man, I wish I could like this comment several times to bump it up in the feed. 😂
This is great! Sketch idea: someone goes to a palm readers shop except they don’t have palms they could have hook hands or something idk. It could be really funny as a so and so didn’t get the script.
What is this!?! Its like MAD tv or even SNL before they got all... well, you know... 🥴😵🤥🤡🤢🤮🤑🤑🤑🤑 How have I never heard of this "Studio C" before?! Sub. Fricken. Scribed. 😂😂😂 Dad Spa is hilarious. Cant wait to binge watch all the stuff Ive been missing out on!🎉
I’d have to say nothing good about my dad. I do have stuff about my grand dad, he was a good man. Didn’t like songs that didn’t tell a story, loved fishing and hunting to the extent that he taught thousands of people what he knew. He’d call out your bullshit. It’s kinda funny actually I tend to take after him. He passed when I was 12. He was the only family member I got along with. If I ever become a dad I’m gonna pass down what he taught me about the outdoors.
fun fact: we used tori's dad as inspiration for her character's looks
Really? Is she going to show that to her dad on Father’s Day?
i sure hope so!
I guess that brings a whole new meaning to "you got your looks from your dad"😅
was he also used as emmetts father in the lego movie because they look so similarrr
Phil Pence is a character unto himself.

I appreciate that both characters were played by women. Somehow that increased the joy of the sketch. Great work studio c
My favorite thing about my dad is his dadness
Yeah... cause you were always dads faaaaavorit!
The bathrobe killed me! 😂
If that was a real product, I think I'd actually buy one.
oh no. lisa's ghost is here!

"You never know when you're gonna need a good flashlight." I couldn't agree more. Well done on this sketch, everyone! 👏👏👏
The unspoken use of WD40 to use as massage oil lmao!
That SOLD it!
My dad has gotten me a flashlight for christmas TWICE LMAO
dads really know how to give the best gifts
About 15yrs ago, mine got me an _obnoxiously_ pink tool kit... which I still use.😂😂😂
Dad's are great, aren't they? Lbs❤😂❤

As a father myself, I do like a good flashlight...
never know when you're gonna need one
I wanna see Austin, Tori, and Aleta’s dad’s reactions to this sketch 🤣

They can strike up conversations because they all know everyone from either high school or college.
Is it bad that I felt so understood watching this, even though I'm still just a bachelor?
That's a good future dad material right here!
Does the Texas brisket come with the service? As in, can you EAT the brisket?
of course and it comes with a choice of two sides
🤤
A flashlight that can completely blind your enemy or an aggressive angry bear on the spot is good flashlight. 😎
I have that flashlight and my dad is obsessed with it😂😅
Brought onions to my eyes lmao
please don't stick onions in your eyes
For the first time in my life, i actually WANT to go to a spa!
this sketch was done perfectly 😍
This was cute! For when the mancave isn't enough.
Is that Aleta as the Dad Masseuse? 🎉 Awesome performance!
oh yeah you know it is
This sketch was so good! Good job! More like this please!
This is sooooo accurate, what even, I was laughing harder than the audience 😂🥹😂
As a man i've never been more insulted or accurately described 😅

Excellent! I'd love to see a sequel sketch in the future . . . and a pop-up "real" Dad Spa. 😂
Oh i wish this was real and nearby.
Now that's good!! Grunt noises Tim Allen Home Improvement
I need the dad robe asap
all dads need the dad robe in their lives
I loved the dad sounds
“Said I need to learn to relax more” oof
We need something like this
This was not only spot on, but good! 😂
GREAT writing! 😂😂
As a dad, I approve of this video.
fact; i have given my 48 year old daughter and 92 year old mother flashlights- guilty😊
I find this so relatable
My dad is the air quotes king, I'm a flashlight guy 😂
First good skit in a wile nice work
Best thing about my dad is he always has a great sense of humour.

Studio C: Sketch about masculinity and fatherhood
Also Studio C: Two young women playing the main roles lmao (love the irony)
My dad collects really powerful flashlights
I love how Tori's mustache looks like it's ready to fall off at any moment.
This is my dream
Why does Aleta as a man resemble Childish Gambino??? 😂 is that just me?

I have to say I've been a hater for some of the newer Studio C productions, but... oh my gosh, this was golden
I loved this
I’m surprised they didn’t put a dad joke in there😂
i love studio c
Love you Studio C❤️
love you too
Great acting!
Just AMAZING!
Love spa
I would unironically go to this place, and I’m not even a dad yet.
This is effing hilarious
All I could think was Hank Hill would LOVE this spa.
All that is missing is duct tape!!😂
Apple wood smoke? Where can I sign up?
My dad's an accountant; I don't think this spa would fit him as well!
That BATHROBE 😂😂😂😂😂
This is a spa for Ron Swanson
This is great 😅
I want Tori to play Harry Potter. I don't know if she has yet, but she could pull it off.
Where can I sign up
at your local dadmart
This is very funny
That WD40 😂
love it!
Oh how I love unnecessarily explaining things
It really brings me joy 🥲
Father’s Money
it's called "a bar"

Is this how I find out I’m a dad? 😂 🤔
Kansas brisket is better. Not biased at all ❤️
okay no yeah kansas brisket is pretty good

Aleta's soft voice over that masculine looks confuses my brain....
Help why do they have custom bathrobes for all their customers 😭? Are dads' clothes that predictable?!
