Next on the list: bigger brakes. Mobbing with +150whp needs some extra stopping power. Glad to see the breakdown was a hose and not anything else 🤙
same thing happened to me with the coolant hose at the rear of my timing cover for the water pump and when i fixed that, my fuel lines started leaking too 🙃 (I was using cheap worm gear hose clamps and have gotten fuel line clamps since). glad to see it was only a hose clamp!
That weird noise comes from your screamer pipe because the boost is raised with EBC so your wastegate valve goes up and down very quickly, if you want to get rid of that you need to add more spring pressure ro wastegate and retune EBC

This is why bmw doesn’t use worm gear hose clamps, only the crimp on clamps. I’d replace all your clamps for with crimp clamps and not worry anymore. That or constant tension spring clamps in hard areas you would prefer to be removable.
The old BMW clamps actually are pretty damn good. If you buy quality worm gears they work pretty damn well. That being said, constant tension is still better. His clamp looked OEM, so it being 30 years old definitely didn't help. It had BMW's logo on it and nobody buys OEM for those.

I've had a hose on my e46 literally just pop off, and they're those ones with the metal clip too, so they can't pop out from pressure. Just if it was badly installed, but I never touched it. Clipped it back in, knocked on random houses until I found some water and it's been fine since then. Sometimes it's not really explainable

That was crazyyy.. i was like.. damn 650WHP🔥 thats crazy and then i saw white smoke came out.. the speeding and accelerating and when turbo catches it boost point, damn.. in camera point it looks way faster than any other car.. hopefully car is in good condition and i hope you are happy that you did this e30 project with turbo engine. I have watched your videos since you got first pulled over because of speeding and losing control in street.. good luck! i like that e30 alot.. and engine and that handling.. crazy.. keep that! 🔥🔥🔥

My stock e60 550i had a love for coolant hoses, I’d blow one up every 2 weeks, gotta purge the system but you can limp for a month or 2

Man that car would be fun AF ripping through the green mountains in VT and Whites in NH. Makes me really miss my G37. I took frequent trips in the last couple years to NH and VT to rip the Kancamagus Hwy and rt9 and 7 and up to lake Willoughby in VT. That e30 is a Dope ass build dude.

You had so much momentum had it been shut down stat it woulda cooled down appreciably by the time it came to a stop. Better test the coolant to make sure, 280deg is fooking HOTT

I had the upper radiator hose pop out on my 2.8 z3 when I did a redline pull in 1st gear so I tightened the hose as much as I could. I tightened it so hard that the plastic inlet on my stock radiator broke instead from too much pressure. Ended up redoing everything in my cooling system and went with an aluminum rad instead.
With all the time and money wrapped up into the car, I’d definitely recommend getting gauges that can warn you if something is wrong, ie if coolant temp reaches a certain point it will beep/flash. If you hit those temps in an m54 the block would be toast
That's a pocket rocket I would love this in my E36 and for sure the hose clamp check is a must in my 180SX weekly I check my hose clmaps and it's only making 300hp.
I also had a radiator hose pop off randomly but it’s the oem e90 clips style radiator connector. I think your problem was hiring redline so much it shook things loose.
Quite a good luck that after lifting the head so seriously that the combustion pressure blew the coolant hose, and had a nice coolant showering at the same time inside the cylinders, you still have a somewhat working head gasket/cylinder head sealing assembly. Might wanna check the aftermath with a leakdown test and compression test to be sure the engine is still within acceptable cylinder variances.

mybe ut would be a good idea to put a flex clamp and not weld the 90 pipe to the turbo bc of all the movement it has... I am not a mechanic but if it works it is maybe safer!

Is this a mechanical driven water pump? With the new boost level and a weak clamps the surge in pressure could easily pop off a weak clamp.

Definitely keep an eye on the coolant hoses one of mine on my e34 literally ripped/split open after ripping it on the way home I had to order a new hose the older bmw's naturally run super hot and when u rip on them the temp goes even higher.

I just had my N52 E90 crack the oil filter housing gasket, and to clean everything, I had to disassemble the WHOLE cooling system. That was less than a month ago, so, yeah, I'm pretty sure all my clamps are pretty tight

What you describing on the how fast a car goes through the rpm range is 100% in the transmission. I got a turbo civic with a longgggg gear transmission and is fast, but not quick because the gears are so long you can accelerate quickly
