Great advice there Barry. My lock skills are one of a number that have been useful in civilian life too. That you demonstrated just how easy it is to get past an inexpensive lock will be appreciated by anyone with valuables to protect.

I prefer padlocks I can easily pick, inevitably I lose the key or just don’t have it when I need it.

You don’t even need the special tools, this can be done with paper clips.
