Insane KTM 150 Varner Two Stroke Build - Pasha 150 Shootout EP 3

Pasha Afshar is responsible for investing thousands of dollars into the motorcycle industry from his own pocket. He not only spends big cash on supporting riders and lending his bikes to up-and-comers, but he has poured thousands of dollars into his Pasha 125 Open races-where he pays big purses to two-stroke racers (and takes no payment in return).
For this shootout, Pasha bought all three bikes, paid the bills for all three engines and outfitted all three with the products that he uses on his race bikes. These were not MXA test bikes and we had no say in what parts Pasha used or who he had assemble them. Would MXA have picked different engine tuners? Well, we did in our 2019 125 Project Bike shootout with Pro Circuit, Twisted Development and R&D Racing - but this wasn’t our project, it was Pasha's.
Terry Varner was a controversial choice. But at one time Varner was as famous as a two-stroke tuner could be, but Terry fell on hard times (all of his own doing) and, in the process, damaged his business and his reputation beyond repair.
Pasha offered Varner a chance to redeem himself in this shootout. It should be noted that MXA has no business relations with Terry Varner or Jim Haesaker, but we do have a close connection to the builder of the third KTM 150SX - Jamie Ellis (who writes a column in MXA every month).
You’ll have to wait until next Monday for the final shootout video to find out which KTM 150SX engine wins - Haeseker, Twisted Development or Varner.

Pretty sad that the industry bros just keep turning a blind eye to Varner stealing money and motors from paying customers.
Apparently Pasha and Varner are friends that's why he's in it. MXA was probably clueless but they should have known.

I am going to pay Terry Varner a visit this weekend. I hired a private investigator in the desert to locate him so I can try to get all my parts back. I am in Ventura county so it's not easy for me to make it up to desert often. The PI told me Varner doesn't have a shop anymore and he is homeless and living in a pickup truck pulling a trailer full of stuff around. For the past week or so he has been sleeping in parking lots and fields. My PI has many contacts in the area for information and he was told by multiple sources that Terry has meth problem and has for some time. I know I will never get a dime of my money back from him but hopefully he hasn't clucked my parts off yet. He has been spotted driving around the area of Main and I street and he is driving a older 4 door black ford truck with a open utility trailer on the back. Tomorrow I am going to drive up to the desert and drive around the area until I find him. His business address is a post office near the corner of Main and I street so it makes sense that he has been seen in the area.
I too have been ripped off by him. In February of 2020 I sent him a complete 2003 cr250 engine & 1,800.00 check to build the engine the way I wanted. He took my calls for about a year & a half and now nothing but voicemail. I would love to get my engine back at least. I know I’ll never get my money back, but would love to at least get my engine. I wish I could afford to go out to him. I hope you can get your part’s back SeanHender. I read your comment & I’ll have to admit that I was floored. I suspected that he might have a drug problem but had no proof. It’s a shame that he has such a skill with engines, but is nothing more than a thief. Best of luck to you.
I sent him my 06 CR 250 cylinder in February 2021 he said id have it back in a month. After he received the money he was tough to get ahold of and when I did speak with him he kept making excuses and it kept taking longer..luckily he did end up getting it done but i didn't get the cylinder back until mid December so I had ended up buying another bike during the summer so I wouldn't miss a whole season of riding. Now that I have it back I will say the bike runs amazing so much better than before but I wouldn't send my stuff there again.

Sad to see MXA support a guy who steals money from the moto community. There is a big list of people on Vital MX who sent him their motors and Money and he just disappeared. MXA is helping Varner grow this list. Not good.
If you read in mxa in the ad about the 3 bikes they distance themselves pretty harshly. They say we in no way are a supporter of Varner nor are we recommending him and he is to blame for all his problems and so on . They make it very clear they are inno way the ones that are footing the bill for these bikes nor are we recommending any this is a posh paid for shoot out. But they go into some hard reality towards Varner. So even if varners bike ends up being best I don’t think anyone would send him an engine because if his bike wins mxa is going to be even harsher and probably come out and say do not send your motor to this man. They pretty much say that now by saying he ruined his business and he can’t be trusted
Back in the day the fastest bikes I ever raced were built by this man. That said, to many stories of money, parts and motors gone missing after he fell on hard times. I will always miss the Pre FMF to FMF by Varner days. Those engines that Terry built in that era are what 2 stroke dreams are made of.
Sad to see MXA promoting someone like Varner. Evidence is all over that he takes money from clients and fails to deliver. Do better, MXA

Jody how is doing this build supposed to be “redeeming” for Varner? So he built an awesome bike. Big deal. Nobody questioned that. Redeeming himself would have been to tell Pasha thanks but no thanks as he needs to focus on the all the motors he has deposits on but hasn’t finished.
Where did Jody say that ? Because in mxa online he pretty much says that this is in no way showing support from mxa for Varner and that he ruined his business by his own doing and they had nothing to do with this build it was paid for by posh. Jody pretty much throws him under the bus and rightfully so

Feel like nothing was really said in this video except for "thank you to everyone". How does the compare to a 250F? Could it complete with a stock one or modified one?
Faster and harder to ride than a stock 250F. Man knows how to make a 2 stroke rip.
Varner has had my motor going on two years now. I have driven to his shop and tried calling him numerous times with no luck. He absolutely refuses to answer my calls. It was suggested to me that I try calling Tony Pasha. Perhaps he would be able to light a fire 🔥 under Terry. I can tell you first hand that it carried no weight! I’m fact, Pasha made excuses on Varner’s behalf. Telling me, “ The guys got 800 calls a day, he’s not gonna answer every call.”
Well, he better!! He had no problem taking my deposit and spending it!
I am driving from Ventura county up the high desert tomorrow to confront Terry and get my motors and parts back. I hired a local high desert PI to track Terry down and it didn't taks long. If I lived closer I would make Terry give me everything that doesn't belong to him and I would do whatever I could to reunite owners with their items. Terry is homeless living in a black four door ford pickup with a trailer and he is sleeping in fields and parking lots. The PI sent me a picture of Terry sleeping in the truck in a field last week. He has been spotted in the Main and I street area on multiple occasions. If I had to guess the truck Terry is living in is a late 90s early 2000s black ford f250 or f350 crew cab with a black utility trailer that is probably 16 feet long and it is full of stuff.

cant wait to see the comparison with varner and twisted. had a handful of varner cyls back in the 250r days. they did one thing good, and that makes for very poor mx motor unless your drag racing. Hes got knowledge especially with fmf, but very curious to see how the Twisted Development stacks up.

in my opinion, i dont think because a engine starts with more power that it means it automatically has more potential too. in reference to the yamaha and ktm comment in the video.. not sure why that's being said a lot, but im not arguing about it either..

From what I can tell from watching all 3 bikes the Varner bike seemed to be the fastest bike , but it’s hard to tell, from watch a video
It won't be the fastest because you'll never get your engine back from him!
