One of the problems with skip if your plan is to turn the corner at 5 is that 5 is the level with the least characters, (coming right after the level with the most characters) and most of them are either not very good or just very narrow. Like in your case, which level 5 were you actually looking for? Aon for sure, Cupid, Lancelot... maybe faerie, nian and appletree? Angry would have been bad, you skipped on siren and wombat, don't think baby bear would have done it. Baba wouldn't work for our comp (unless you already had Lancelot, and even then). So basically, banking on finding a level 5 on your first level 5 turn is extra risky. Personally, I feel like you have to start getting ahead on 4. I think going harder on treants would have been your path. I feel like at 24:00, I'd have picked wizard + elder (Selling fanny). I don't know though... Skip's still pretty rough even after the fix.

Last on Skip would've meant losing before that bot with frontline Fanny. That'd be not very fortunate for sure.
