was getting tired of seeing pretty much only tanks for astra militarum, so its nice to see a proper guardsman army with LOADS of infantry!!!!!
I love James' passion for the guard but that *sigh* from Luke at 22:19 during his rally speech was so funny 😂

"C'mon you apes ya wanna live forever!?" A guardsman screams from the rampart as the screams of lasguns and soldiers being ripped apart mix into the roar of battle against the 'bugs.'
What an incredible, colossal labour of love. Would’ve loved to have seen the Hierophant in this battle; if not here, where!? Looking forward to watching this.

An Epic Battle with two great looking Armys and a thematic detailed battlefield, I liked the abbonded Heavy Bolter Position in the creater (?) a lot .
The Patreons on the Guardforces makes it really exiting to see what is going on with them like the heroic Master Sergeant with the Banner who gets wounded and healed to carry on the banner, I would recommend to usw Sergeant Kells rules to represent him for the future, he deserves it.

If I may make a couple a suggestions: For repeating psychic powers in the same fase I would implement the rule as in Smithe: each consecutive use after the first in the same psychic fase rises the difficulty in one. And the other: I would suggest to have X Command points per turn (e.g. 6), instead a pool of 30, in order to avoid the re-rolling party in the first turn.
The other thing I thought was when you used the regeneration stratagem tree times in the same turn... which might have been too much. Maybe, beside the ones in the core book, the same stratagem only possible once per unit and fase?
Minor comments, however. The setup was splendid, and I've enjoyed a lot the battrep.

Wow, that was closer than I'd expect it to be, especially with the extra Admech joining in. What an epic game, do you not like the actual Apocalypse rules then? I've not played them, seen some batreps with them mostly with tanks etc and admittedly, the rules set is very different, is that why you didn;t go that way? Either way, what an epic game, vert Starship Troopers, how long was it play time?

i'm still learning and i'm starting imperial guard and i notice the specials weapons teams so the regular shock troop squads all just have lasguns or ....? and how does the special weapons squads do we use the grenades launchers and flamers from the shock troop units or they are sepatrete like the plasma gun dudes ? someone answer me if you know?

i thought the rules for the game got useed but it is normal 40k rules i think it is cool
I know I'm late to the party. It was a great game but not even close in my opinion. There is a good reason it didn't continue for one more turn, that being there wouldn't be a single guardsman left on the table. I called that this would happen after seeing the first round of guard shooting, but the game was cut short. I used to play imperial guard years ago - they have been a low tier army when I quit and they continue to be a low tier army now from what I see. Also there was quite a lot of really pointless units in that guard list like the tank destroyer or the baneblade. Imagine the amount of heavy bolters and mortars that could be added for their point cost and the damage they could do. Very nicely done video. I will have to watch a lot of stuff on this channel as I'm again interested in wh40k. Maybe I'll be back at the table some time with a proper army instead of the guard this time.

NOTHING is more impressive than a guard heavy army. Absolutely NOTHING.
It was a fun watch but all the "Command Reroll!!" followed by "can't command reroll that," and "we made an agreement BUUUUUT..." IDK, I get allowing multiple in one phase and having the ability to cast more than one of the same power, but I think there should still be a limit. CADIA STANDS and the EMPEROR PROTECTS!
Worked ok for us in the game. CPS soon burn up though🙂
@@StrikingScorpion82 lol tis true, and as long as everyone playing is ok with it, that's all that matters. A fun idea, despite how heretical it would be, would be to have a 2v2 with everyone using a different faction. Like Necrons and Imperium vs. Tau and Eldari or something.

Did the Neurothrope or Zoanthropes reroll 1s on psychic tests? Was hard to know what was casting at times, did a Neurothrope fail catalyst for the swarmlord on double 1s in turn 2?

Do you ever play the actual Apocalypse rules?
I'm not complaining about the video, I am enjoying it a lot, thank you, but it is essentially a huge game of 40k rather than Apocalypse. What do you think of the Apocalypse rules? Personally, I am not so keen on them - they feel too far away from core 40k.
We tried the new rules, and did two prevous apoc games on the channel with them. But we prefer regular 40k rules:)
