strong 9 basically a 10
That would make Igor and Bodies Being Burned 10s too so mega based
those were decent 9s @@sleep6837
@@sleep6837Igor was the most 10/10, 9/10 review I’ve heard from him. I was sure he was giving it a 10
@@noah5793 factual it's a 10 100% percent
@@noah5793igor isnt even tyler’s best brah
I love this album. It not being Grammy nominated was an insane flub by them.
Grammy's really don't mean anything. it's a popularity contest at best.
@@frespects9624the forever story gets more streams than god did btw
⬆yeah it barely means anything to win one in rap anymore lol 2014 grammys already proved that
im STILL mad about that macklemore win bro thats like a viral tiktok song winning over a kanye song
And DJ khaled did
the crazy thing about the forever story is i dont think jid has even reached his peak yet, and he made a project as incredible as this
He def has it in him to go even further and continue leveling up each time.
Idk if he can top this man
@@elliothammer9485i Think he Will considering he has an album coming out towards the end of the year and then another album towards the end of the year with metro. If those two albums slap he will be in my top 15 oat. I would put him top 10 but he lacks longevity
y’all hear Half Doin Dope? handily one of the best singles of the year. this man is only broadening his palate
Is it just me or is DiCaprio 2 the most underrated album in his catalog?
I truly think that Stars is the best track on this project, shortly followed by 2007, and this album fully deserves a 10. The two issues you brought up in your original video on the album, are two of the things that make their respective songs better in my opinion.
The length of Baby Tate's feature is what makes it so sweet, and helps the song transition into the second beat.
The build up of the beat in stars isn't too long either, it is what makes the song so powerful
From this video:
I don't think there is any separation of the two artists on Stars, “and now, a word from our ancestors" ties JID and Yasiin together amazingly. I will reiterate, I believe it is the best song on the album.
Such a W man, I love this track so much
this album is a 10 for me. I think fantano’s issues with the album are really petty and don’t really make a lot of sense.
Stars and 2007 are top 3 JID for me (Hereditary is #1)
The first half of stars is one of my favorite parts of the album as well. All music ratings are subjective so I usually don't care to explain why a song is good if someone else disagrees but you analyzed it well.
Stars is definitely the best track on the entire trackless however a 10 is a stretch, not to say this album has 0 skips but that doesn't mean it matches the quality in terms of content and storytelling of a true 10/10 rap album and whilst the production is amazing it isn't absolutely mind blowing which is had to be for a 10. It pushes boundaries but not enough of them for the music industry to be changed forever
So redux score is a 10? Yeah this is a 10 now, it’s basically canon. I’d give it a 10 just for the first 8-9 tracks, everything after that is just bonus
No it’s a nine , and maybe an 8 chill , JID can do way better and you will see that in the next albums , this is not 10 material for JID
@@gkay8889 I mean I actually kind of agree, I do think after Sistanem the quality falls off a good bit until 2007. But still, the first 9 songs are good enough for it to be almost a 10 in my eyes. And I was saying this redux should mean it’s a 10 for melon now. Still super excited to see what JID has in store, his potential is unlimited
i do hope he can do even better, i already had my bar high for him but to say this is "maybe an 8" is actually ill@@gkay8889
@@ThingSomeRandomoh it definitely doesn’t
@@gkay8889it’s a 9 minimum, an 8 would usually be a very positive score, but for this project it’s almost insulting, that’s how good it is. Imo definitely a 10.
waiting for a redux short where his opinion actually changes 💀
He changed his mind on mac millers „swimming“
@@juno_99redux short not a redux review
@@juno_99redux SHORT.
I'm pretty sure he did rodeo redux short and the score went up a little, I could be wrong tho
The score is not his full opinion listen to what he’s saying
Would honestly give it a 10, rap album of the decade so far
There are a few I prefer/bump more but quality wise I can't think of much else competing
Honestly, yeah
clb tho 😶😶🔥🔥🔥
Aethiopes is better
To me it's either this or Cheat Codes
I said it before and I’ll say it again. Stars is an amazing track, probably a top 5 (maybe top 3) track on TFS. No idea why Fantano hates on it, it’s such a good song.
I imagine he thinks the two sections are too separated
hes just not hating on it tho is he?
@@powel5451 he’s not really saying it’s a bad song, but he said it was the worst song on TFS, which I don’t agree with at all.
Potential it had is what I agree with. Great track but theres a few moments that I wish were a little more expanded on
I like how fantano saying "even this track is pretty good" is "hating". Really using that word an interesting way
ppl say hiphop dead when albums like these happen is crazy 2 me
who says hip hop is dead??????
@@acidd4681Some people do. It’s still a very unpopular opinion I think but, yes, I have heard people say hip-hop is dead or dying.
@@acidd4681 Eminem fans
I play Stars more than any song from this album, the flow is insanely enjoyable.
Same it’s no good. The second verse is crazy.
2007 was just sooo great, graduation is my favourite part of that song
Watching JID live just a couple of days ago was one of the best experiences of my life. Beat up and coming talent in the industry
How is he still considered up and coming? He's the greatest of the current gen.
This thing deserves a 10
Doesn't even deserve a 9
@@user-fs7zm6zc7s you’re right because (as previously stated) it deserves a 10. Glad to see we’re in agreement
@@user-fs7zm6zc7s Don't state your music opinion ever again
@@Cameronb.1026 what about this album makes it worthy of a 10 lmao it's solid but yall are tripping thinking it's up there with tpab pinata etc
@@user-fs7zm6zc7sit is up there
I always wondered if 2007 being on the original album by the time of review would have made it a 10 in your eyes. It’s the perfect way to end this album. Also you’re still bugging about Stars, one of my favorite songs ever. Great beat, great flows, great lyrics and a meaningful feature by Yasiin
I think this is easily going to be looked at within a decade from now as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time.
Hopefully not
why not?
hopefully like gkmc yeah
@@nds1116 cause it doesn't come close to actual classics
@@user-fs7zm6zc7sbut it is though?
this is like the TCD of JID
Crazy how if he liked stars he’d probably give this a 10. Crazy because Stars is one of the most unique songs on this album and one of peoples favorites
Stars was also my least favorite track when I first heard the album but my god has it grown on me and now its my favorite 😂😂
The flow at the start of that is so catchy even with the pitch changes in his vocals. I fw it from the start
Baby girl have faith...
definitely the album if the 2020s i’ve played back most. JID is at the top of the rap game right now in my opinion. incredible, and may i add beautiful, project. ill be honest, last time i heard Sistanem it really hit me deeply and i shed a few tears
I'm so happy Fantano reviewed this album again with the inclusion of 2007. I would like to hear more of his thoughts on it. Great album that deserves to be a 10!
i saw jid live last night, these songs are fucking amazing live
JID has become one of my favorite rappers after dropping Forever Story. I knew he was on the up-and-up, but goddamn. It gets better with every listen.
I go back and listen to this from time and it continues to age like a fine wine, from top to bottom. JID definitely put his all in this
I want to point out that 2007 was the actual closer to the album, but they couldn’t clear the samples in time for the album release. I personally think it’s an amazing closer to the album!
I can’t help but hear the unkle Adam original flow at the end of Surround Sound
My aoty of 2022. Had it on repeat for so long and still come back to it
We need the IGOR redux, where is the ten 😭😭
the fact that half of the people giving it so much praise when it first came out didn't even know that the best song on the album even existed tells you all u need to know about TFS
2007 is such a masterpiece
Just give it the 10 😭 it deserves it so much
Saw him live with wutang in vienna. He was incredible. So talented for his age.
I'm still convinced that this album will be remembered as one of the best hip hop albums of all time, at least top 50 for me
No chill
I agree. Some might say that's recency bias but every track is just so good and it has many memorable songs such as Raydar, Kody Blu 31, etc., it feels like a modern classic.
My most listened to album of the past year, and an easy 10 for me.
I like the EARTHGANG features most on an album of great features.
money music video made me cry
JID has been my fav artist since 2017
JID IS AMAZING 🔥 where to Stockholm when he played there with "the forever story"
What’s Your Pleasure is a 10, Fantano. Adore You is a banger, don’t kid yourself.
Adore You is boring and has a super flaccid chorus 💀 sticks out in the tracklist like a sore thumb. If it weren’t there WYP would be a strong 9.
@@f4gsforpele I do agree that it doesn’t fit on the record, I think her vocals on the track are amazing and it’s a nice lowkey track after the 5 more energetic tracks
@@georgeandfriendsadventures5073 her vocals on it are great, I will give the song that. But the next song is In Your Eyes which *is* a more lowkey cut, so I don’t understand why Adore You was necessary at all. It kind of sounds like her older stuff. Similar thing with Lightning from her latest album, though that one doesn’t annoy me nearly as much. I have Adore You hidden in the tracklist for WYP and have since I first listened to it LOL
@@f4gsforpele Yeah I agree that the placement isn’t that good. I would’ve put it maybe between Read My Lips and Mirage.
Im surprised you havent done something like this with Mr. Morale
Crack Sandwich is a personal favorite, and I've been listening to Money on repeat for the last 8 months. Such a great record
ALBUM OF THE DECADE SO FAR
Edit: rap album, rap album of the decade so far
Second best. Sometimes I might be Introvert>>>>>>
The only album above it is SIMBI by Little Simz
@rroca9140 this^^^^^
no
pov: you only listen to rap
This is gonna be the first jid album I listen to
I have NEVER seen Fantano like this.
If “cant make you change” and “stars” were a little bit more exciting it coulda been a 10. But to have that many incredible tracks is just insane
Everything dont gotta be exciting. Cant make you change wasnt supposed to be “exciting” lol
GIVE IT THE 10 IT DESERVES MELON
Love these redux reviews
he got the eyes of someone off a perc
"swang on swang on"
IT’S BEEN A YEAR ALREADY??? WHAT THE FUCK MAN
Can't Punk me is sooo hype my fav rn
This was an incredible album!
10/10, aoty for 2022 for me. what a legend. the wait was so worth it.
He never gives enough credit to sistanem, that’s the best song of 2022 for me
Great take brada. Raydar is crazy
This did deserve a redux. This should’ve been 2022’s 10.
It should be a 10 now cuz it was a strong 9 when 2007 wasnt on the tracklist right?
I think Can’t Make You Change, Stars, and Just In Time have pacing issues, but overall this is an incredible album from JID
LIL durk feature was the worst part about the album for me wic hwas not bad but wassnt great imo
I get what you mean but I think the pacing is actually why I love these songs so much
@@taylornelson2416 fair enough
Idk what it is but this album just doesn’t really click with me. Like I don’t disagree with any one point on each of the songs but in its entirety, I just don’t get “hip hop album of the decade” vibes from it. I’m still comfortable calling it great but the level of praise this album receives is on par with GKMC and that record is light years ahead in my eyes.
Imo the beat selection is weaker than it was on his previous project plus him singing more than usual
its because you're comparing it to other albums.
Same. It’s a great album and I love some songs off of it but something doesn’t click.
Go on, give it a 10, you know you want to
Why do I get so damn high that I can’t feel my face?😔
I liked the part where he gave us his rating for the album
My man mellooon didn't rate the album a 10 for the lack of industrial sounds mixed with midnight horror screaming in the Background.
It’s definitely a 10
Definitely an 8
@@user-fs7zm6zc7s 10
Can we get a redux of SIMBI? I think 8 was harsh, that record is the only hip hop record I’d put about Forever Story
I think The Forever Story is a little bit better (SIMBI has too many interludes, and the voiceover can be a lot sometimes) but SIMBI is definitely a 9. Its core tracks are just way too good for it not to be, not to mention how gorgeous and consistent the production is.
I do agree that it would’ve been great to hear a true collab between JID and Yasin bey rather than two distinct song but that doesn’t make either half any short of incredible
This is probably one of your best ratings ever
i dont see a better album coming out in like the next couple years
this was def my aoty and still is for 2022
To Pimp A Butterfly Redux Review?
Bump it up to a 10 we know you want to
9 is where he’s at skill wise too. He’s so close to dropping a cultural classic and this album is the single step below it
MONEY MONEY ALL I NEED ALL I WANT
Own it on vinyl.
it got a strong 9 without 2007, it’s a 10 now
This is a perfect album no skips
7 at best if we are being incredibly generous lol
This is the only album me and melon agree on 😭
IT’S A TEN, TANO, A TEN💀
What streaming service does he use?
apple music
Its a light 8 if we being real
melon! Do ‘Ants From Up There’ REDUX REVIEW
I was so sure I would love the album, but it never clicked. Not sure why. Amazing rapper obviously, but sadly it didn't do it for me. Maybe I should revisit as well.
AM NOTA, AM NOTA, AM NOTA TWO STEPPIN MAN
clearing the samples on 2007 made a great album even better. my only gripe is concluding the album with J. Cole delivering platitudes for two minutes is not exactly the big finish this project deserved.
First time I agree with Fantano, while still disagreeing.
Cause this album deserves a light 10, few things which is just more my personal thing. But overall it's one of the most prominent well put together albums in a LONG TIME from story to production.
Lil Durk's feature is my favorite but I can't put my finger on it
As a rap record, it doesn't beat out SIMBI for me but it's still fantastic
Add a beat switch and your score will go up
Do quadeca didnt mean to haunt you
if it was called my beautiful dark twisted story you wouldve given it a 6
TFS is definitely a 10 and will end up being one of the best rap album of the 2020s
And JID isn't even done yet! He just released 2 new tracks with Yachty and Babytron, has an album coming out this fall called Forever and a day which will be followed by his other album with METRO BOOMIN, JIDiots are eating right now 🔥
@zeltronwarrior He announced it on IG live along with his Blakkboyz 2 pack with Yachty that's how we know
Absolutely love this album
You should revisit igor to realize that its a ten not a nine
Stars is the best song of the decade so far
Pretty much perfect in my eyes
I feel like Denzel's record is slightly better. Don't get me wrong i love TFS but i feel like i've gone back to more MMESYF songs tgan TFS songs. Love them both and they are very close competitors for me
Just give Plastic Beach the 10 already 😩
Everyone gets one track to diss, I like Stars but Just In Time was always a bit awkward, I don't hate the Lil Wayne feature but his voice stands out so much on this track list of very smooth and direct features to the point where the track looks like oil and water. Nothing else about the track makes me really write home about it either so it's my one skip on this masterpiece.
Wayne killed it as usual this take ain't it
i fucking swear, you could have gave this a ten, a strong nine is basically a 10.
Can someone recommend more albums like this?
You heard the rest of JID's albums? Besides that I'd recommend Saba if you haven't heard his music, namely Care For Me and Bucket List.
Black on Both Sides by Mos Def
4eva is a mighty long time by big krit
Best album of 2022 imo
Crack Sandwich goes so damn hard
Yes. Yes. Yes. And yes.
