Ultraman Arc is amazing. The shots with the new Luna armor were splendid! This series is pure fiction, episode by episode! I also liked how Arc hugged Homher in her final moment, it felt very heartwarming.
Japan has suffered regular damage from typhoons and earthquakes since ancient times. For the Japanese, the threat of nature is not something to be exterminated, but rather calmed and waited to pass. Japanese kaiju have always served as metaphors for such natural disasters, but this time, by associating the monsters with extreme heat and volcanic eruptions, I felt that the protagonist's response of "calming rather than exterminating" worked even better.
The mysterious girl, Anju, is played by Masui,Coco. The story of a female character having a relationship with a monster has touched my heart ever since I saw "Mothra". It is not made clear in the story whether she is a spirit as Yuma said, but I also like the way this is portrayed, "leaving the mystery as a mystery."
This was a surprisingly moving episode, despite some narrative hiccups. Something about the opening scene really got to me, how it cut to Yuma sketching the Luna Armor after his mother died. Luna Armor's debut was great too, though it's interesting how our last two speed/magic forms both debuted in a night battle and spared a kaiju Homger feels like a mix of various Earth kaiju from Gaia, like Zonnel (huge blast radius), Shazak (parent and child, spared by Ultraman), and Izac (fire-breathing tiger, defeated an Ultraman). The suit is a bit of a mixed bag; from afar it looks imposing and cool, but up close it looks a little cheap. Still, it's great to have a convincing quadruped kaiju
Luna armor debut ep is so good and unique! Instead of manifesting a form to "obliterate Kaiju faster" it was formed to "protect life of all." Homgar protect your baby though, I don't want it to be infected by OOZE!!! Edit: Oh wait, Ishido's last line implies that the mother died while giving birth... As he only said that Arc "let the child go" but he didn't include the mother now. I am sure the Spirit can still protect the baby fine though.
While I liked this episode, I did find the twist that Homger was pregnant predictable and the episode also seems kinda similar to past episodes featuring mother and child kaiju. That said, I loved Homger's design! She is probably the most convincing quadruped this series has ever made... perhaps in all of suitmation 2nd to GMK Baragon!
You might want to check out other kaijus made using the same technique, like Kingsaurus III, Stegon, Golgolem and Spheresaurus. It's an ingenious technique, giving "stilts" to the suit actor's arms for a natural quadruped stance, and it often results in a kaiju with a strong silhouette
I previously watched the filming footage of GMK Baragon. The suit actor for GMK Baragon was a woman. She said that by maintaining that position using only her own limbs, her leg muscles had clearly developed.
I am amazed to see Solis Armour (Sun Armour) and Luna Armour (Full Moon Armour).😮 I hope to see any episode about Eclipse, Ring of Saturn🪐 and Galaxy.😊 Solar Armour (Eclipse Armour) Satur Armour (Saturn Ring Armour) Cosmic Armour (Galaxy Armour)
So the spirit didn't tell Yuma the context of what was happening at the start why? She gets on his case for not understanding the situation, but won't explain. Secondly was she expecting him to let Hamger blow up a whole city just so it can have it's kid?
It does raise a lot of questions too. I get it. I do get what the spirits of that one Megaranger episode including Power Rangers Turbo with Erutan (might have been a precursor to Kite later on) till we get to Animus from Power Rangers Wild Force where the things he do, I get it but with here...dozens of people will get whomped. I don't agree with what that spirit was allowing too but still, I'm not an expert on ghosts but I do notice that with these spirits with limited timespan on them, they don't have time to commune with those of the living, considering they're dead so they can only do much unless they have something that anchors them to the living plane. I guess its another case of paying attention to history for those in the city but...really does sound dangerous. Heck, I was raising my eyebrow to that spirit and chastising about the safety of humanity.
This is just a thesis, but it's kinda like how some gods in shinto(japan original religion) works. Their power based on how many or strongly believed in the said god. 15.35 My thesis comes when she said her voice hasn't reached many humans. So she's reserving her energy to some bigshots. in this case, to the Ultraman Arc's host. Or it's just deux ex machina. who knows, mystery's a mystery, or the dirocter just lazy lol.
@@MidnightLucario1 my guess is she expected the legend of Homger to be well-known enough that people _know_ Homger blows up to give birth. Which...still feels a little flimsy, I guess. This episode's writing is a little weak I also saw a Japanese reviewer point out that Homger offers nothing in return for humanity. She isn't a local god like Dorgo, nor a defender of Earth like Taganular; right now, she's just a non-malicious kaiju that endangers entire cities every time she gives birth. For this reason, I really hope Homger pulls a Tigris II and teams up with Arc against a space kaiju, to show that there's a good reason why humans should spare her kind
This episode will be easier to understand if you imagine that spirits also exist in typhoons, tornadoes, earthquakes, and forest fires. We don't blame the spirits for not explaining anything to humans. We humans are making an effort to get information from them. The importance of this is the theme of Episode 7. If humans had listened more carefully to the voices of nature from ancient times, we might have been able to prevent the abnormal weather we experience today.

I really, really, really hate that spirit girl. She refuses to explain anything and then gets mad that the characters "don't understand." "Hey, Homger has to explode to give birth. Could you maybe use Ultraman's powers to contain the explosion or move her somewhere where the explosion won't hurt anyone?" How difficult is it to say that!? Overall it was a great episode, the Luna Armor was awesome (though I found its powers kind of vaguely defined) and I like stories where Ultraman finds a peaceful resolution to the Kaiju problem. Dateline Friday September 20th, 2024. I know I've been busy at work the past month....and behind on my comment / reactions, it's burning me up... behind by 5..no 6 episodes, I could 💥! But, that would be wrong..and while episode 11 is tonight, I better start somewhere...and episode 7 : The Full Moon's Answer is a start...so before I go kablooey ( hope not ), let's get started! One, The ( Late ) Summer's Dilemma. Temperatures in Hoshimoto City are bad, REALLY BAD, in the low 110's bad! Arizona's....( and ours here in Southern California ) weather ain't got NOTHING on this... climate change? Well.... Two, Can't drink this. Shu whipped up some cold coffee for everyone, but that's not helping the situation any. But the sticking point is, what is causing the abnormal heat? Three, Hell has No Fury like a.....tiger scorned. Some cracks in the pavement and a terrible swell fills the air, SKIP investigates and before long, she appears, a spiked tiger, inhaling gas....GAS? Why? What purpose is consuming gas for? Yuma knows that bad news, and so.... Four, Paying the Price. As Arc jumps into action, he manages to pull her away from the gas refinery, but gets punctured in the sides...and burned. This is NOT good. Five, The Scorching Analysis. It turns out that the tiger is named Homgard, and the spirit girl is its surrogate. She tells Yuma to leave her alone. Wait, how did she know his name? Upon further analysis, she's carrying her child...and her biological clock is ticking...the moment she gives birth, she dies in a violent explosion...and potentially wipes out Hoshimoto City in the process. Death through birth, can Yuma find the answer in time? Hence the name of the episode... Six, The Answer. Yuma's late mother tells him " when things are in danger or you are concerned, look up to the Moon 🌙 "...his drawing of the ultimate hero with the power of the Moon when he was young.....WAS the answer he was seeking, and Arc's second armor was born, the Luna Armor. Seven, The Solution. By using his new armor and creating a barrier to block the impending implosion, Arc allowed Homgard to give birth, die peacefully, and save the city. Even the surrogate guardian thanked him for allowing this to happen. In the end, temperatures return to normal and the newborn Homgard lives a new life somewhere out there, thanks to Arc's....and the Moon's answer. Conclusion, this was an outstanding episode combining action, humor and a solution to a near disaster, on a scale of 1-11, 11+ if it's outstanding, I give it an 11, it was that powerful, reminds me of an episode of Ultraman Cosmos that had the same situation he faced 23 years ago in 2001 with the same threat, solution and conclusion, let the mothering Kajiu finish her life so that her offspring can live. One down, seven to go ( episodes 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10....and tonight's episode Message ), I'm behind, but I'm determined to tell my reviews before the second half of Ultraman Arc begins in October, giving up is NOT an option, and I know this all too well! Onwards to episode 11...and the other 6 !
