5. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA)……………………..2Liters
6. Colour…………………………………………As Desired

Traces could be from the containers used to sell the chemicals. But I don’t think it will affect the product.

Sorry I am not a chemist. More so, we only get it in liquid form in our own part of the world, may be that is why I have not bothered to look into the concentration.

@@1001entrepreneurs it's also solution, and there are 2 concentration types available, but neither has the same colour as yours. And actually i think maybe it's OK to skip phenol because the mount needed is very low in the original recipe.

IPA and Ethanol are all alcohol. But they still have different properties that make them fit for different products. Just follow the formula pls

can I use ethyl alcohol instead of isopropyl alcohol and benzalkonium chloride instead of phenol?
Pls use IPA instead of Ethanol (Ethyl Alcohol). IPA is better.
As per the second question, Benzalkonium chloride is mostly used as a preservative. Although application may be found in many household disinfectants and cleaning products. According to studies, it is associated with severe skin, eye, and respiratory irritation and allergies. It may be dangerous for people with asthma or other skin conditions such as eczema.
Pls if you are not sure of the potency of a chemical or it's functions, don't use it

Please what should I do when I experience separation in my Dettol production..like the oil floating on top
This shouldn’t happen if you had followed the formulation and instruction back to back.
Did you add texapon in the product? It also acts as emulsifier. More so, proper stirring is very important at each stage of chemical addition. If all these were carried out, then there could be issue with one of or two of the chemicals used….I once bought wrong chemicals for liquid soap during my earlier years of production.

To be honest, I haven’t thought about that nor give a trial.
But fragrance oil if well diluted would not harm the skin. Considering the fact that fragrances bring uniqueness to product, may be it can be added…( This is just a suggestion)
PINE Oil has nice fragrance…and this makes the product have pleasant smell

I have no idea of any ‘White Dettol Antiseptic’. Remember that ‘Dettol’ is a brand and the company may have introduced new product over time. I hope you are not referring to Izal?

Pls I make antiseptic but I think I pine oil is much too and the antiseptic is showing oil on it. What can I do to correct it
This is the formula I learnt and use since ages. You might as well work with what works best for you.
If wish, you may not also add it. It is just there to increase the potency of the product in fighting germs and bacteria. The main ingredient for killing germs is Chloroxylenol…it is very essential to use this one.
Then for the oil you see on your product, I really dont know why , but I guess it is from your chemicals. Next time buy from another Chemical vendor. Also use clean bowls in doing your mixing or storing your chemicals. I hope this helps

Please I want know, you bought 2 Liters of IPA but only mixed with 250ML, while you says, we should mix CP with 2L of IPA. How?
Hey there, so sorry for your confusion, although I do make effort to make my contents explicit enough.
I will advise you to go over the video again for better understanding.
The 2L of IPA was used to dissolve the POWDER Chloroxylenol.
Chloroxylenol can come in Powdery form or Liquid form…recall we used the powder. But I went further to advise those who may have option of liquid Chloroxylenol…250ml of this should be dissolved in same 2L of IPA. I guess this is where you got confused. Sorry about that, but it is clear.
Can you also dissolve dcmx into alcohol?
Yes, DCMX can generally be dissolved in alcohol. DCMX is soluble in many organic solvents, including alcohol.

It is actually ml or mL, called MILILITER.
Milliliter is unit used to measure a small amount of liquid. For a larger quantity of liquid, you can use liters. 1 liter = 1000 milliliters or 1 ml = 0.001 l.
