Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp - Updates & New Setup!

- My Sulawesi Shrimps are still growing strong and the colony gets larger, slowly but steady. From 5 shrimps to 50-60 in under a year? not bad for these guys! However I discovered that a smaller thank suits them better, as they enjoy the company of large numbers. All I need is to keep feeding :P

I love the Sulawesi! They always look like they're dancing. Been doing a bit of research into possibly starting a tank of them.
I am on the same page as you when it comes to wild caught aquarium fish...it was nice to hear you say that. Thank you. My tap water is liquid rock, PH of 8.4
Oh that actually sounds great for the other Sulawesis, maybe even the harlequins 😊 I find that a higher tds doesn't impact them much, it's the pH that's important
yeah, you got me excited about those Sulawesis! the Neocaridina seem to do just fine in my water. @@Danny-MOG
Oh then I would say these guys will do great as well. From what I read the harlequins are the hardest, which is sad cos I love how they look (though someone I know told me he bred them in our tap water 🤷🏻♀️) but cardinals, red orchids and yellow cheeks are really cute as well!
yes, I love the harlequins as well and also the cardinals, red orchids and yellow cheeks...so cute. @@Danny-MOG
@@mountainhobbit1971 Stumbled upon this video, Iam curious to know what your Tap water parameters are?
I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I have to ask! I originally subbed to your orchid videos way back in the day, and that's still an interest of mine, so I really would love to know what that gorgeous orchid in bloom next to the tank is? I might need to find one for my collection!
also no predators in the tank..thats why they come out. in the lake there is fish and there they hide. they sense that.
Yes ofcourse! I am keeping these guys in a dedicated tank, I’m sure adding even 1 green neon might result in me never seeing them again 😂
great update video! i found they do better in a smaller aquarium than a larger one. can't wait for the next update!!
Love your videos btw 🤭 🧡
@Danny-MOG thx so much for the reply and love. I was thinking of setting up a smaller sulawesi aquarium and BAM, your video showed up on my feed. It's a sign. Keep up the great work on your awesome videos!!
WOW I'm early XD Really love your animal related videos. This tank is very cool, I love it a lot more. 2 suggestions though. Maybe try increasing the lighting? Either longer photo-period or a higher wattage? Maybe a Halogen spotlight? They make them in LEDs. The few I have are incredibly efficient. They do produce very directed heat however, but this really wouldn't be a concern for you as you could either lower the temperature setting on your heater, or remove it entirely if need be. It'd save you money on electricity and encourage more algae growth for your shrimp!
My second suggestion is, if you have a couple more small pieces of that red lava rock, put it inside of a pillow case, soak it in water, and then smash the rock with a hammer! You'll get lots of tiny rock pieces you can sprinkle around the bases of your larger structures, to add depth and texture to the environment!
Great suggestions! I was thinking to just blast this tank with my strongest lamp, it's a Chihiros Pro 30 cm, or smth along the lines, but I think I may blind them 😬
They're so pretty!
The shrimp are so interesting. It looks like they wearing white gloves. LOL
Where did you buy yours from?
A pet shop in Cyprus :))
"bigger isn't better" i wish my exgf feels the same way
🤣🤣🤣
I'm sure you have a great personality though! 🧡💀
I wish I had a 75 Gallon for shrimps
What size is your tank in gallons?
Maybe 7 gallons, just google a litre to gal converter to be sure :)
You said you swapped these guys over to tap water, Id love to know what your parameters are.
Hi, yep: ph 8 - 8.5 gh 12 ish kh 6
Thank you! @@Danny-MOG
try the yummy gum from Shrimpking ;-)
Hello! Thanks for commenting on my video! 😊 I would love to try it, but I don’t have all your foods available in my country, or at least they were not in stock. But I’ll be sure to try it out when I find it, I’m sure it’s yummy 🤭 regards!
where are you located?
@@Danny-MOG
I’m in Cyprus 😊
3 snails like a slow bomb for ur tank...
When 1 will die, it can make your whole tank die
I would not worry 🤭
