I still love dolls and I will be 90 in December. I always got one for Christmas. I was going to be 13 in December so I told Mother that I didn’t’ need a doll that year. Come Christmas morning there was this beautiful doll under the tree. My Mother said “I passed by this doll and she said to me, TAKE ME HOME TO YOUR LITTLE GIRL.” I STILL HAVE THAT DOLL. I also have the little wicker rocker that I got for my first birthday. Oh the sweet memories that goes through my mine when I see those things. I love all of your and Matts videos. Enjoy your grandsons.
I love how Binks always loves being with you all when you are outside. He loves being around you, and especially Matt. He seems so happy that he has family. Katie was soo good to tame him from being a feral cat to being a family pet. ❤️🐈⬛️
Binx on patrol. He's such a beautiful cat. Enjoy hearing the cute stories of when the girls were little. It'll be fun to see what mischief Ira and Woody get into.
Tipper, We played outside all day as kids because Momma told us to go out and get out from under foot. Such good times, we found the best places to play.
Enjoyed watching everything that went on in the garden as you and Matt work together so seamlessly, and especially enjoyed one of your fun-nest chats yet. That Matt is a bona fide mess! ♥️
While I was just peacefully watching your hubby hand till & you doing your thing, I thought you all are just so so blessed ~with Granny & your brother so close by, Katie & Ira with you, & Corie & Austin & Woody just over there. If you are ever having a bum day, thank the Lord for that! You folks really are my kind of people --I know this channel has a bunch to do with Appalachia, but that family component, mixed with the love of Jesus is why I'm here. And your cooking keeps my mouth watering! -much love to you green thumb folk ~Mary & fam in NJ
It was fun watching you and Matt tonight. I especially enjoyed Matt's pranks and stories. 😂 It's a blessing to be able to enjoy your simi-retirement years. I wish you both many, many more!
We had the same childhood playing with cousins outside till we were made to come in...wading creeks, damming up brooks with mud and watching water eventually bust thru...frozen tag and hidenseek and weenie roasts...catching lightning bugs...smelling fresh cut grass or smoke from fire...Kids today don't know what they r missing
I loved those stories of playing in the summertime! 😂 Corrie under the carpet made me laugh out loud - I can picture her probably giggling the whole while. Hahaha
Y'all reminiscing about your childhood days and other times is something that I could listen to all day long. Matt's story about his Daddy actually leaving his cousin hiding until they come back home, Matt's big doll story with the girls .... I guarantee there's never a dull moment in your family. Pranksters 😅 Thank you for sharing another great video. Praying and Blessed! 🤗🙏💕🌄
Happy Happy Birthday, Tipper! I hope you have a wonderful day! I am so happy that you were born! You've made some really difficult days turn around. Your videos are so calming and sweet. Thank you so much for letting us see your life. It's such a wonderful opportunity to dream of home. Sweetest of Birthdays to you :D ~Kelly~ (Colorado)
Tipper it was such a pleasure to meet you yesterday, you my friend have a pure warm-hearted spirit about you. Must be why watching you and your family calm me and bring me joy. Looking forward to reading through the cook book and serving up the recipes.
Love to mix greens. Kale and collard are my favorite…I have mixed wild greens with all the other greens, like dandelion, dock, oh my how I would love to go picking with my mother again…we would have a skillet of fried potatoes, pot of pinto beans, greens, slice tomatoes & cucumbers, chow-chow and corn sticks a bowl of butter and a blackberry cake with Carmel icing and a big glass of milk. Yummy! ..
Hey Tipper. I received your cookbook yesterday. WOW it is really beautiful, and so full of fantastic recipes. I can’t wait to dive in more. Love the pictures old and new. A very quality cookbook.
Tipper, my Granny pulled up the WHOLE cabbage, INCLUDING the root, all in one piece, then put them in the root cellar in a bucket with sandy soil covering the root. She'd water it a tiny bit if it began to look wilted. They kept all winter that way, like FRESH from the garden.
Tipper, I met Luke Duke 😂 one of my best friends was in the musical Annie Get Your Gun with Bernadette Peters on broadway in nyc. We went to his dressing room. He had glossy pics of he and Beau with that Hazard car. Very very gracious 🫶🏻
Oh Tipper, I loved baby dolls also. I still do. I wanted my lil granddaughter to love them as much as I do. One time she did get the doll out that we had gotten her for Christmas and she was pushing her around in her doll stroller, and I asked her how her baby was and her reply was “ She isn’t my baby, I’m just baby sitting”LOL 😂 Naomi just hasn’t ever cared for them. She loves Barbie’s, I adored my dolls and I would make a play house out in my Grandfathers woodshed because it would be empty in the Summer because the wood had been used to heat their house during the Fall and Winter. Such fun days.
We made houses out of cardboard boxes that we dragged to our house, from a furniture store close by. We cut out windows, and used string for a curtain rod and hung cloth on it for curtains!! Sometimes, if we were lucky we could get two or three boxes, and put them end-to-end, and made a whole house! We loved making our mud pies too. They dried real fast in that hot summer sun in Tennessee. Best years of our lives. 😍🙏🏻
My parents cut their cabbage when the heads got big and then just left the cabbage in the ground . They had cabbage over and over. Because cabbage is one of the winter plants that love cold weather. Collards and mustard greens are another plant that loves winter. I am 87 and just can’t believe all that I remember about their garden. How is grannie doing with her garden. She is really strong. Bless her heart.
Tipper sitting here watching you and Matt I could listen to you all day I just love it it reminds me of me and my little brother he’s gone now and I miss him alot.
I just stumbled across your channel, and decided to watch. Very good content. I can't begin to express how relaxing it has been to just sit and listen to a couple talk abput nothing yet everything at the end of the work day. It's like having old friends over for a chat. Thank you.
I laughed out loud when Matt said" well how many of them are going to plant" Tipper I get it the excitement of planning is so much fun. Keep keeping it real. Love your channel.
Wonderful work. I may be one of those people who would love to see Matt take the camera and go fishing for an afternoon. Or evening. Sit or stand on the bank. I think it would be very very nice. 🎣
As kids we would build forts and have pinecone battles, lol. When you got hit by one, boy did it hurt but we would still play it, because it was fun. We would also play hide and seek and red rover. We would also dam up the creek and swim in it. Thank you for bringing those wonderful memories for me.
Matt, I was tickled when you brought up your one year anniversary of retiring. I'm happy for you both, but I know from experience what that means to you. I still celebrate (quietly) my retirement date of 07/02/2016. Retirement is totally underrated. I ain't had a moments regret. You won't neither I reckon. Thanks for sharing.
hoopie hide. Reminds me of a little man that was in the hospital with my Grampa. He said when they were kids that's what they played back in the days of the long hoop skirts their mothers and Grandmothers wore . He said one of the kids found the other when he ran out from under his grandmothers skirt, "He said Ha ha I found you ". He said the other one hollered "You wouldn't have found me if Granny hadn't gassed me".
So glad you all have started to get rain we still are in an extreme drought here in the panhandle of west va our garden has burned completely up praying for rain from Debby
Oh my goodness! I am the youngest of 10 and was aggravated unmercifully as a child. Matt's stories about the doll and the little girl playing hide and seek really resonated. I'll laugh about that for the next few days😂
Hey guy's, it's hard to believe that August is here. And Matt being retired from working for the man for a year already. I enjoyed hearing about playing hide and seek and going down memory lane. It reminded me of my childhood. God bless y'all and continued prayers.
I was never crazy about dolls but my sisters were I was a tom boy. My sister's had and still have tiny thumblinas dolls. They were realistic for the times. They look like new borns
Our bedrooms growing up were upstairs, so cold in the Winter and hot hot in the Summer. It would be way up in the early morning before you could sleep. We’d play all day on the farm in all kinds of dirt. When mama finally got us to come in my mother would say. “Lordy, you all are right rusty”. 😂 I too had a playhouse and sometimes it would turn into a doll hospital. I went on to work as a nurse for 47 years.
You see Matt's wheels turnin about the spot for him and the grands. I laughed till I cried about the live doll. Bet Corey and Katie's eyes got big! And the carpet hump, oh my my sides hurt!
Thanks, Tipper and Matt. It's back to hot and humid here in the Tennessee Valley. Tomatoes are finished. I'm hoping for late green beans. This was not a great year for my garden. I hope the fall garden does better. ❤
I loved baby dolls when I was a little girl too Tipper. My only sibling is my brother who is 10 yrs older than me and Lord he was so mean to me growing up...he would kidnap my baby dolls and dismember them or hide them from me. He had me thinking a few of them were possessed 😂 Knowing the stuff he was into at the time, they might have been!
You were talking about the 3' doll. Mom bought one for my next older sister. I miss the Sears, JC Penney , Montgomery Ward christmas catalogs. Oh my goodness! Loved the catalogs. There's a couple others, I can't remember the names of those.
Matt, when my son was about 8 years old he slept out in the backyard in his "clubhouse" all summer. To his sorrow, I made him sleep inside once school started.
Just wanted to thank you for introducing us to Rattlesnake beans. My husband and I are in our mid-seventies and have gardened all our lives but had not ever heard of those beans. We love them! Thanks again.
I had just the same problem with my daughter. She wanted the Sindy horses and stables and carts. You could keep the dolls. I loved my dolls and Mum used to sew and knit the clothes for them. That was so funny with Matt moving the doll.
I'll bet your grandsons would love a little cabin in the woods. I had a tree house when I was little, but it was just a platform with no sides, so I wasn't allowed to sleep up there for fear I'd roll off. Still, we could pretend it was a fort or a castle or a pirate ship or a stage...just anything. When I wanted to sleep out, I'd get one of my older sisters to pin some old worn out sheets on the clothesline to make me a "tent," and beg one of them to sleep out there with me. So much cooler in the summer.
We have been pretty hot lately but tomorrow and through the end of the extended forecast, 20 degrees cooler! Today 93 and tomorrow 71. Hopefully that is coming your way! 🙂
I remember as a kid, going to a friend’s house that had a metal fan in the window. His mom had made us a couple of sausage biscuits, the fan didn’t have a screen on it and I talked him into throwing his sausage biscuit in the fan. Chopped up pieces of biscuit and sausage went everywhere. 😂
I know what you mean, we played outside from sunrise to sunset in the summer and I don't remember ever thinking it was too hot to run around. We didn't have air con in the house I grew up in until I was 22 years old. We had those huge window fans and my Mom was terrified one of us was going to get our fingers cut off!😆
Our kids start school on Tuesday, the 7th!! I remember we never started school until after Lanor Day and we're out before Memorial Day. But we didn't get 2 weeks at Christmas, Easter, Spring bteak!! Some schools here are going to 4 days which is going to work a hardship on parents that work. I think it's wrong. They don't go by days now, but have a certain number of hours they have to be in school for. Times are so different. And I don't think for the better!! I loved baby dolls. I have quite a collection. Love the videos.
Is that 4 days a week for certain? Ridiculous! Working parents have a hard enough time dealing with before and after school care, but now trying to find care for a whole day! These decisions should be made by parents at school board meetings.
Tipper and Matt I sure enjoyed hearing about when you all were little what youns played and Matt doing that to the doll to scare Corie and Katie he's a sight I seen my friend Binks in the garden just really enjoyed way you work just all of it you both are a blessing ❤️ Shelby

I love how Binks always loves being with you all when you are outside. He loves being around you, and especially Matt. He seems so happy that he has family. Katie was soo good to tame him from being a feral cat to being a family pet. ❤️🐈⬛️

Matt wanting to celebrate with pie and ice cream. The conniving little look on his face made me laugh.😂

I love the background noises, the bugs, the birds, the creek, when I hear those, it reminds me of visiting my grandmother and playing in the woods.
I prefer your show to any tv show
Oh you are so kind! Thank you 😊

I grew up without air conditioning too, and as the saying goes, “You will never miss what you’ve never had”

@@sherrydaut4910 depends on the district you're in.
@@sherrydaut4910 agree completely. Many parents don't attend the meetings.
