You’ll notice in the beginning he was working on his car and he cut his finger then he did what any human would do clean the blood off his finger and at the end of the movie stem finally became in control and did the same thing, something more like human

Ok so I saw at the end of the movie and I didn’t get the part when STEM took control of his body but where did he actually put him at when he was in the hospital bed with his wife? Can someone explain.
Grey's not there anymore he's in a place, in his mind. Where he wants to be. A fake world is a lot less painful than the real one. All it took was for his mind to break. When he tried to resist STEM, he broke it.
I think a good sequel would be that Greys stem has become the overlord of the U. S. And pretty much a dictator and new protagonist emerging and making a good version of stem and implanting it into his body and taking on Greys stem in a revolution against evil stems army and eventually freeing grey from stem in the end.
I usually hate bad endings but this was a properly utilized bad ending. This is like deus ex human revolution but Adam decides to become a serial killer at the end.

I just noticed in this scene, he completely stops blinking and his eyes do not move anymore, but only staring straight ahead.
