Fun facts: 1. The Elves were high-school/college students hired as extras and had to be drilled to march in formation for the scene, which wasn't easy and took the work of several people from the military. 2. The Uruks stomping the ground with their spears wasn't really planned. The actors playing the Uruks just got bored on set and started it at random. Jackson liked it so much that he used it in the movie.

They basically let Saruman's army march right in front of the walls, which was so packed that a drunk firing a bow at random could've hit something. Everyone saying the Elves reaction because they know Aragorn but remember Legolas is a prince , he is a royal. So , they do it because of him too (I know this doesn’t happens in the books but it’s kinda what would happen)
I've watched this film alot since its release 20+ years ago and only today I noticed that the elves only drew their bows upon Aragorn's command but the men drew theirs when the uruks started stomping. Lol that 1st uruk who died might have some involvement in the battle if the men had more discipline and they didn't place an older dude there
I have a personal theory that the rain that falls during the siege of Helm's Deep is a gift from Manwë, the Vala of the sky, because the rain and the mud it causes puts the attackers of a fortified place at a great disadvantage, making the battle less difficult for men and elves against orcs.
It’s important to remember that had the legion of elves who came to fight for King Theoden, the battle of Helm’s Deep would’ve likely been “stained with the blood of Rohan”. As many of those who fought against the 10,000 Uruk-Hai were young children and old men that may not have been experienced in warfare combat and were the people of Rohan, instead of trained soldiers.
If that guy’s arrow could reach all the way where the enemy was standing, they should have all started firing then or sooner at least. Because they waited for the enemy to charge, there was less time to shoot them before they got too close. (If you get what I’m trying to say)

Gimli's laugh always brings me joy
can't have an epic battle without the Wilhelm scream. xD
This is so much better than the crappy Game of Thrones wars.
This was on of my favorite parts of this movie.
Everyone saying the Elves reaction because they know Aragorn but remember Legolas is a prince , he is a royal. So , they do it because of him too (I know this doesn’t happens in the books but it’s kinda what would happen)
Gimli: "Legolas two already."
Legolas" I'm on 17"
Well come on Gim he did kill some as they were running towards the castle 😂😂😂
Greatest movies of all time and it's not even close
I've watched this film alot since its release 20+ years ago and only today I noticed that the elves only drew their bows upon Aragorn's command but the men drew theirs when the uruks started stomping. Lol that 1st uruk who died might have some involvement in the battle if the men had more discipline and they didn't place an older dude there
Gimli's & Legolas' rivalry reminds me of classic Thor & Hulk over who was the more superior/skilled fighter
Have you guys ever heard that sound, when the first few rain droping on thiers armor? the clanky sound is so perfect.
They did a good job on imagining the elvish armor.
When I first saw this I was a teenager it’s giving me goosebumps feels good to see it once more been so long
Rain in a battle is not always a bad thing. Especially if you're in an elevated position and you're enemy is on the ground.
8:01 so am I the only one who here’s someone scream “Bitch” 😂
LMAO nice catch!!
@@katiematkowski7478 it definitely wasn’t in the Og version or extended 🤣
@@ServantOfTheGods It definitely was, and you're definitely high if that's what you hear. Pass it my way 🚬
@@activatekruger446 🤣 gotta heat the pipe for the dabs first 😂
Kinda makes me want to cry when i realize that there will never be movies as good as the LOTR trilogy ever again in my lifetime
I love how he’s like “you know what could make this night worse? Rain”
"This is a good sword"? No it isn't it has more dents and dings then the winning car at a demolition derby.
sharp
I think he was trying to give that kid some hope lol it wouldn't be too good if Aragorn picked it up and went "Wtf is this? Do they want you to die?"
Well, it *was* a good sword.
@@jeffersongray9356 that sword couldn't cleanly slice thru cheese

If that guy’s arrow could reach all the way where the enemy was standing, they should have all started firing then or sooner at least. Because they waited for the enemy to charge, there was less time to shoot them before they got too close. (If you get what I’m trying to say)
3:09 I love this part.
Elves *loose volley*
Gimli “did they hit anything?”
The boy didnt know that he's talking with King Of Gondor
6:45 nice shoot .
1:58 Did anyone else hear an Orc horn?
Not me. It might have been the audio problem from the source.
Legolas said it, that was no Orc horn
Friends, such a movie will never come to earth again. In the history of the world, everything that has been made and edited, whether it be story or durability. consistency, the best of everything. It was made in this movie. That's it. No movie can be as good as this movie.
This battle stressed me out so bad when I was a kid
I never fail to cry when the elves arrive!!
Gimli may be the comic relief so to speak but he is definitely a mighty warrior
6:48 imagine being the first uruk hai that dies before the battle even started 😂
amazing how they consistently made rhys look dwarf sized when he is the largest dude of the main cast. Though I wish they did a better job making his double axe look sharp, even a casual can see that thing is blunter than a marijuana shop.
this battle is better than the entire last season of Game of Thrones
3:22 - We ride together, we die together, Bad Boys for Life.
Who else loves just watching the background soldiers duking it out, hoping one soldier comes out on top
The sound is kinda botched in these clips, like as if you didn't config the 5.1 surround correctly, and the rear sound is missing.
The most wonderful legendary saga, The Lord of the Rings
Gimli is comic relief a lot of the time, but lets not forget Legolas has a 15 kill head start and Gimli catches up during this entire battle
even the rain drops on the armour. is just beautifully crafter and placed. now watch rings of power CGI disgrace. JACKSON knew how to honour TOLKIEN one of the greatest writers, proffesors, and humans we are lucky enough to have.
I don't like to think about this too much because I love the elven army but what if the Uruk did eat the dead elves before Gandalf arrived? I hope not but it's possible they did.
ofcourse they did, its their favourite diet after all
