Hello Teoh! Thanks for the suggestion. Thanks to you I bought this compilation. I could not buy the others one separated but I bought this one for ~18euros. I'm also putting money aside for S6 Lite, thanks to your reviews. Thanks for your videos! You should have more views.
Another wonderful video Teoh! I bought some of the individual volumes based on your previous reviews of them and had seen this compilation and was curious about it. So I really appreciate this review. I agree it's a sad loss to use that gutter end treat those beautiful sketches that way. I've taken some of the individual guides while I am out Urban sketching and having it laying flat is key to using them that way. This seems like such a bad and unfortunate mistake with this book. I will pass on it. Hope you and your family are well and staying safe. Greetings from the United States.
It really is a travesty. I have the other individual books. I find them to be so helpful, and I use them while sketching. The very dense layout of this book would make that a little unwieldy and awkward.
I recently bought this book and I really like it (except for the binding, as you say!). I think it’s a good way to get into the series and to see if I like the style. I might buy one of the individual ones if I want to get more information.
Hello Teoh, I need some advice. due to my budget, I need to choose between: A) 6 tubes of student-level paints (cotman) or; B) 3 tubes of professional grade (sennelier)? I'm a beginner in watercolor and paint just to have fun and relax ... nothing professional, but of course I want to do beautiful things. Thx!! Love your content
The Cotman are perfectly suitable for your use. Just get your red from the W&N Professional range. Red is most expensive to produce (cost of pigment) therefore Cotman isn't any good.
Seems like the one book covers a lot of content, but the 4 books seem as they would cover more detail,. I guess they all would be of good benefit, thanks for sharing ,as always your channel is my inspiration.
@@MissPetty_05 Don't mind the title. It's about earning a living from your artwork regardless of going to art school or not. Some professional artists don't look back on their education with fondness. One artist said he spent $100,000 on his education and didn't think it was worth it.
I think this book is better than getting the 4 books separately since these books were made to support your knowledge to understand more about urban sketching not teach you the basics of the basics when it comes to drawing
Looks a nice useful book but could do with a reprint with slightly different page size. Or even different binding, that is just so tight. Reluctant to stay open! Not encouraging to the reader....
These books would be so much better if they were flexi-bound. In other words, lay open flat on any two pages. A good example of this is Jake Spicer's series of 4 books - You Will Be Able To Draw... His content is as good as it gets and the binding makes them lie flat. Wish all publishers of "How To" books would do the same. Content of Urban Sketchers Handbooks is first class and binding is good (still not as good as Spicer books) but the binding on the book you review here is terrible.

I have the individual books also. You said just what I thought, thank you!😊

Very Good review. Teoh do you prefer to buy this book or Urban Sketcher (Holmes) if you could buy only 1?
Maybe the one from Marc Taro Holmes. This book is nice but I just don't like the format (thick and pages cannot open wide)

Depends on the prices. For beginners, you can go with Cotman. Compare prices with Mission Gold, Shinhan, holbein and White Nights

Amazon US has a Kindle version for less than $19.
Thank you for all your videos.
wow. it's small size but very useful. i wish u could see thus kind of books in korea 😓
Teoh can u please do a video about making money by art or other stuff cuz I wanna study abroad and want some advice 🙇♀️🙇♀️
Great book - What They Didn't Teach You in Art School: What you need to know to survive as an artist by Rosalind Davis
Possibly a better book recommended by artists - How to Be an Artist by Jerry Saltz. Good luck 🌸🙏💜
@@damienkearns3654 oof I never went art school? Do u recommend?

Greetings Teoh..... what other drawing books would you recommend?
If you are into urban sketching. See these books...

The main thing I don't like about this book is not the content but the binding does not allow the book to open flatter.
@@teohyc yes thats kinda a problem too since it makes the reading experience a bit hard, but I think the good about this book is the price
Is there much overlap in the set of four books? For example, does every book have the same chapter about watercolour techniques?
There is a lot of overlap since this book is a compilation of the other books.
Will you review the lenovo p11 pro?
Probably not. Depends on whether I can get a review unit.
@@teohyc Ah ohh ok.... I hope so, tanks!
I would break into your house just to read all the books you own... aaaaaa.
This book it's available in Spanish?
English
Maybe one of the few times getting the Kindle version would be better
