    We applied, paid our fees, and waited for ten years. Then, we came to America legally and made sure that we are not a burden to the government. Everyone should do the same process.

    He got denied for other future visas because he broke the B-2 visa rules. Which is if you overstay your tourist or business visa you will be denied any other visas in the future. All he had to do was go back and come through the legal way. Plain and simple.

    • @AlanNguyen-bj8gk
      @AlanNguyen-bj8gk 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      Yeah, it ain't rocket sciene . He married to a U.S citizen, so legally he could apply for either the green card application or the B-2 visa application. However, they kept denying his application; why, because he committed a federal crime by overstaying his visa. That is it. Had he votunteered to self-deport back to Hong Kong like 20 or 25 years ago, then everything might not have happened the way it was.

      that’s very true, just like I did for myself while I’m visiting Thailand right now, stayed here for 60 days & then went to Hong Kong for the day, so I can legally be in Thailand for another 60 days (so I won’t be denied and be allowed to come back in the future) … if I overstay myself for even 1 day, I’d have to wait 1 year to come back

And some leave due to breaking laws here stateside. You just don't hear about it honestly. Now I don't condone this at all and all for immigrants entering the US legally. But to make the argument of any US citizen to do the same and see how it works out is , well just counterproductive.

      It''s impossible. He came to US with a visa and he might meet his woman and they got married. I can guess his visa was already expired before he got married. That's the main problem if his wife fills out application and then immigration interview it turns out he overstayed his visa and if his visa was till valid and his wife fills out application form of spouse sponsorship he first has to go back to his country waiting for interview. He chose not to hire an immigration lawyer to defense his case and decide to ignore it. Probably he thinks his wife is US citizen and everything will be OK. He now has to pay his ignorance.

    This is a tactic that illegal immigrants do to buy the ticket into the US. The ticket is time they use time. They should imagine if an American is able to just cross the border into China and live there for 3 hours, forget 30 years. The US immigration system has been broken for too long and it’s been too kind to these illegal immigrants. I came as a legal immigrant and because of these people it took me forever to get here even though half my family has been in the US in Mayflower. Every time we checked the status the response was oh there were loads of illegal immigrants that US government had to take care of them first so there is a delay to your case. Because of these illegal immigrants , most of my life got stuck and got destroyed by communist system where I lived for which I applied the paperwork to reunite with my family in the US. Get in line! Play fair game to get in. Your trying to cut the line destroyed many legal immigrants that really needed help ftom brutal political persecution.

    I've found out about many who are here illegally for many years that were deported eventually. On the other side of the coin, there are stories of people who waited their turn for over 10 years to finally get their shot at citizenship and attained it. I know of a family who left Vietnam and tried to immigrate to the United States but were not allowed so they went to the Philippines. Years later they were allowed to immigrate to the United States where now all of their kids WORKED THEIR WAY THROUGH COLLEGE. Most of them have Masters and Phd degrees. They made the most of their opportunity.

    My suggestion is to ensure his attorney work on helping this man’s anchor babies to also be with him so to not be separated.
    I refuse to believe it takes 30 years to be in a good legal status.
    He seems like a good man, but 30 years to prove he was legitimately trying to be legal is not going to make an effective case for any judge to hear and allow in good faith. I feel bad for him, but this is the law. If an exemption is made with his case, then just about every case is going to be affected, which is humanly impossible to keep tab of.
