    Sir , synchronous motor වල commutator එකක්ද තියෙන්නෙ? Commutator එකක් DC මෝටර් වලත් එනව නේද? slip ring දෙකකින් දෙන synchronous motor තියනව නේද සර්?

Yes, there are synchronous motors with commutator, this kind of synchronous motors have built in excitor, then commutotor is used to convert generated voltage to DC, this DC supply is then fed to main field winding using slip rings, please refer pony motor method starting in the video..

chief engineer can you please comment explain what will happen star-delta configure motor not change to delta ,
and also my sea water pump new motor name plate-
    delta 50hz
    star 50hz
    delta 60hz
can i run this motor in 60hz ship system ?
    thank you chief

      Nice to see your question,
Whenever the motor continues on star without being change over to delta then the motor will grt over heated and eventually gey damaged.
The reason is, in star mode there is not sufficient current available ( as voltage is less with compared to delta) then the motor will continue to run with increased slip, as the slip is increased then there will be more current will continue to flow which is greater than the full load running current in delta mode.
Motor will keep try to get its rated rpm consuming more current if this continues the winding will get damage

Second thing is rekated to your name plate. The different frequencies shown here is to run the motor with different frequencies at different voltages. Because we must maintain v/f ratio constant. Otherwise motor will get overheated because the magnetic core will get saturated.
