    Great explanations on how/why you made component decisions. The PMC speakers surprised me, we I don't see them mentioned in the USA very often. The graphic showing all three systems is very good.

      Thanks! What a pity PMC can't be found in the States. They are extremely neural, high res speakers with a very fine open and deep lows.

    Thank you Hans, for sharing your audio equipment configurations with us!
    Very, very interesting!
    I love the PMC speakers; they are special...

    IMO, you are one of the best reviewers around, because of your good real-world knowledge/experience (and your various configurations) with lower to higher-priced equipment.

    Wow, you referred me to this video when I made a comment about starting a system with good performance and a great price. You noticed that System 3 is exactly the way I was suggesting for people to get started. Great video. I'd suggest you do another one where you go into certain parts you sold off that would be great used pieces for your watchers to buy in their part of the world, an expanded version of exactly what you did at the 4:00 mark. Well done, great video. I'd like to see a future video of recommended "steppingstones" in the used market for each component in each of your reference systems, especially Systems 3 & 2. Great content. Thumbs Up.

    Great video, very informative Hans. I’ve learned a lot with you over the years. 😄
    I am now looking forward to upgrade my QUTEST/ MSCALER source combo to perhaps a Grimm audio MU1 or adding a SOTM rubidium clock to my SOTM SMS 200 ultra Neo with the addition of possibly a Holo May dac. This would then feed my Valvet Soulshine pure preamp, Hegel H30 amp and Dynaudio confidence 5 speakers.
    Tough choices ahead and budget dependent of course 😊.
    Thanks again for making this journey a more enjoyable and a more enlightened one…

      Go and have a listen at the Grimm Audio, but only if you have the budget otherwise you will become rather unhappy 😞

    Wow what a great setup Hans. You have an amazing platform to compare many different components. Still waiting for your in depth review of your new PMC Fact 12s…

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can only review the PMC’s when I compare them with equally priced products. And that would be a logistical nightmare in my home.

    Wow 71000 euros, good for you sir! Hope you're keeping the Yamaha rn2000a, I wish I could get it soon and forget about audio for a while...or you're a proof we all need many setups.hehe good work sir, thank you!

      The Yamaha would have been a good addition to my reference setups but unfortunately the kitty is empty and it would have been a problem to find a physical place for it.

    Thank you Hans for your update. What is your experience on mains power cables and distribution blocks?

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't review cables so don't expect an advise from me. Having said that, power cables should be the first cables in your stereo to be updated. They have the clearest influence on the sound if your stereo is set up properly.

    Hello Hans. Thank you for your videos about the Pi. Are there any options for a budget-friendly (~$100) DAC that has wireless volume control (over network or bluetooth)?

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Often streamers offer that possibility. They can digitally control the volume. Today's digital volume control sounds good.

    Hi Hans 👋🏻
    Can we please have a review of the recently released PS Audio DirectStream DAC mk2?
    I am very curious to see how it compares with the competition in this reference class of equipment.
    Thank you! 🫶🏻

    Hello Hans. I notice no mention of power supply conditioning/regenerating products. Do you not use these? If not, why? I think this would be an interesting topic and, to the best of my knowledge, one you haven't broached before.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't use regenerators, the quality of the grid is of high quality in my country. I have used filters in the past but not anymore with the exception of the Transparent PowerIsolator 8 on the Chord DAVE.

    Have you ever tried two subwoofers? Paul from PS Audio has many videos on youtube where he always recommends 2 subwoofers over just one.

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel

      Everyone that is in the know will tell you that two subs is better. But how to tell your significant other 🤔

    I have a pair of T+A floorstanders on a concrete floor. I watched your review of Isoacoustics isolation feet and was wondering if they would make any impact on my setup as it is already on concrete. I value your opinion and would like your feedback before I buy please. Thank-you

      I have no concrete floor (well, I have a concrete floor with parquet on top) so I haven't tried it. But I am convinced it will improve the sound quality since vibrations in the cabinet are terminated.

    What happened to your 3 piece SOTM setup you had, did it get replaced by the GRIM ?

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I never had a three piece SOtM setup. I borrowed it for review. I owned an sMS-200 which I replaced with a sMS-200 Ultra. That was replaced with an Auralic Aries G2. And now the Grimm Audio MU1.

  • @iepdeklein1701

    Why NOW using USB out and optical from MU-1 ?

    • @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel
      @TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I normally use AES/EBU. Only when I test a DAC, I also try USB since hat bypasses the reclusive reclocker in the MU1.
