Large-scale clashes between police and Hasidic Jews from the Chabad movement took place in a Brooklyn synagogue. City authorities tried to fill with concrete the tunnel that Hasidim dug to connect the synagogue with the Mikvah ritual pool. According to the New York administration, the tunnels threatened the safety of neighboring buildings. Hundreds of rioting synagogue parishioners gathered at the scene. Some of them had to be pulled straight out of the tunnel. 12 people were arrested.
It is also reported that the camera caught a child’s mattress immured in them with a stain that looked like dried blood being pulled out of the walls. The video shows several men dressed in Hasidic clothing being led out, their wrists bound with zip ties.
