I love this song my dad played it and said it was our song. On his death bed I played it for him while he was in an induced coma and I know he knew I was there at that time. he heard the song and tried to talk but he squeezed my hand and then gone to be with the Lord. my mom and I get butterflies at our front door almost everyday. I miss the physical part of not having him around. But he's not in anymore pain, and daddy keep the butterflies coming.

I've always cried at the "feel like I'm losing my baby girl" line. I had my dad for 29 wonderful years and just lost him a few days ago. When I was a little girl, my dad and I agreed that this would be our father/daughter dance song at my wedding one day. He ended up remarrying when I was about 12 and we danced to it then but with the understanding that this would be the sing we played at my wedding. My dad passed away last year and I've never been married. I'm so glad I was able to share this dance with him once, just wish we could've had the chance to do it again someday.

It has been 3 years since a comment? This is my 6 year old daughter Harlee and my song. We danced together at the Father Daughter Ball when we first heard it together and we still listen many nights before bedtime. Daddy loves you Harlee Faith please don't grow up too fast.
My neice just sent me a link to this song and she said that my sister told her before she died that this song reminded her of our father and I can't stop crying as I listen. Our father died in the summer of 1980. I was twenty one years old and she had just turned eighteen. I remember so vividly that day because two of my brothers my sister and I were in the car taking him to the hospital emergency because of chest pains. On the way there about four blocks from the hospital, he told us all that he loved us very much and how proud of us he was. He laid his head back and took his last breath. They could not revive him and it was devestating to us all. He taught us to be strong though. Our mother had died fourteen years earlier so when he died it took a piece of my soul it seemed, and I miss him as if it was yesterday. Thanks Daddy you will always live in my heart of hearts.

Honestly, I think this may be the greatest song ever written. Especially for fathers. I can't speak for the daughters out there, but I've cried 3 times in the past 20 years, and two of them were because of this song. It makes me sad, though. I miss my daddy. He passed almost 2 weeks ago & I miss getting to be daddy's little girl. I thought we had a while... He was only 60. I wasn't ready 😭💔
Never ever ready.... My dad passed in 2018... Like you I thought we had time, daddy told us he didn't have much time left, little did I know how right he was.... I kick myself everyday for not taking his words to heart. I miss him so much......

i cry every time i hear this song because it speaks so strongly to my relationship with my daughter Kaileigh. She is the best thing that ever happened to me. She is now 18, going to college and i don't get to see her nearly as much as my heart desires. I pray for many more years with her... God willing....

My mom told me that my heard this song he burst into tears because it reminded him how much he loved having two little girls. When we were kids and our patents tucked us in we gave him butterfly kisses on his cheek. The sad part about my story about my dad, he never got to watch his little girls grow up and never walked my sister down the aisle when she married her husband. He passed away when I was 12 and my sister was 11. This song makes me miss him so much. I miss giving him hugs in the morning and butterfly kisses at night. I miss the dancing during a Disney princess song. I miss when he would wake us up early to just watch the sunrise and then late summer nights on the porch watching the sunset. He was a great man and I miss him every day.

My daughter bought me a plaque several years ago. It had her picture engraved on one side and Butterfly Kisses on the other. I left the room because I didn't want her to see her"hero" crying like a baby. It is by far my favorite possession.
