I remember my dad listening to this song repeatedly and crying when he and my moms marriage was starting to fall apart. I remember feeling unsympathetic. There were too many mistakes made. And I was too young and selfish to sympathize and understand. But now looking back I can remember how much they loved each other when me and my siblings were little kids. Your father doesn’t have to die for your mother to lose him. Watching two people who were very in love, fall apart, is heartbreaking. This is a beautiful song and it brings back memories both painful and beautiful.

Hope you have an Uncle, Grandad or whomever as a father figure in your life. Lost my Dad 16yrs ago and my Mum 5yrs ago and still miss them both so much. They were good people. Mum and Dad were not very tactile i.e. touchy / feely kind of people and didn't tell us kids that they loved us very often but by their actions we all knew we were loved. We always knew if things got bad that we would be welcomed back at home though our Parents expected us all to work hard and do well. They did their best for all of us and you can't ask for more than that. Remember that when you become a father.

My father was KIA in Vietnam in April 1968, I never got to meet him. My grandfather stepped up to be the father I needed. I will never forget dancing with him at my wedding. My grandfather passed away from terminal cancer in March 4, 1999, my cousin's birthday. My cousin, who was like an older brother and my best friend, just held me as I cried for what seemed like days. Every year on my cousin's birthday we would play this song and we would dance. I lost my cousin on Nov 21st of this year. My husband lost his father at the age of 12. We are both in our 60s and it still can bring tears when we hear this song. Love this video.

There are signs about the end of the world, people should give their life to Christ so they can be raptured with us(lift up into heaven) and then sadly a tribulation will happen on earth and the anti Christ will sat on a temple and people will take his mark, those who do not take his mark (mark of the beast) will not be a able to buy or sell, and will be killed, those who accepted the mark will be condemned forever but to us who accepted Christ, we'll be mark with the holy spirit of God. It's better to die for God since he died on the cross for us then the 2nd coming of Christ will happen and he will defeat the evil and Reign forever

I’m sorry. I saw the Luther documentary and started balling when this song played. When I was a little girl, my father would put each of my feet on his and we’d dance. He was a hard worker and a good provider but not overly affectionate and so those memories of us dancing together and of him doing the same with my daughter are very special.

Hunter- Glad to hear u respect and appreciate ur dad. I felt the same way. Covid took my dad in dec 2020. Had to say goodbye over FaceTime using a cheap old iPad. It was awful. To not be there to hold his hand and watch him drift off was awful. I'm still in shock and still expect him to walk through the door. So, make sure u appreciate every day bc it can all be gone in a ny second!

I'm so envious of all of you who are posting the memories you've had with your fathers. My father was killed in a car accident when I was 3 years old in 1990 and I have zero recollection of him. I wish I had known him. I wish I knew what kind of laugh he had, what his humour and jokes were like, what kind of friends he kept. All I have to keep his memory alive is two photos sent to me by his brother who lives halfway across the world. You should all count yourselves lucky that you had (or can still have) good experiences and memories with your fathers.

I am 68 years old. My dad died after a botched attempt to remove a tumor from his brain in 1959 when I was seven years old. My most vivid memory of him was him paralyzed and unable to speak and confined to a wheelchair. I was there when he took his last breath. I still remember my uncle pulling the sheet over his head. There has always been a void in my life. I tried to be the best dad to my two sons but as they became adults I wonder if they even care about me...

My father is living & healthy, but I cry my eyes out every time I hear this song. Knowing I'll lose him someday is unbearable. My father is not an emotional man outwardly, but when his father died at the age of 104, he cried when he read the eulogy that I wrote. To see him show emotion in front of family, friends & strangers made me so proud. That is true strength!!!

Hope you have an Uncle, Grandad or whomever as a father figure in your life. Lost my Dad 16yrs ago and my Mum 5yrs ago and still miss them both so much. They were good people. Mum and Dad were not very tactile i.e. touchy / feely kind of people and didn't tell us kids that they loved us very often but by their actions we all knew we were loved. We always knew if things got bad that we would be welcomed back at home though our Parents expected us all to work hard and do well. They did their best for all of us and you can't ask for more than that. Remember that when you become a father.

My father was KIA in Vietnam in April 1968, I never got to meet him. My grandfather stepped up to be the father I needed. I will never forget dancing with him at my wedding. My grandfather passed away from terminal cancer in March 4, 1999, my cousin's birthday. My cousin, who was like an older brother and my best friend, just held me as I cried for what seemed like days. Every year on my cousin's birthday we would play this song and we would dance. I lost my cousin on Nov 21st of this year. My husband lost his father at the age of 12. We are both in our 60s and it still can bring tears when we hear this song. Love this video.
I lost my Dad when I was 7 in 1959. I’m now 71 and this song gets me every time. I used to stand on the top of his feet and he would dance around with me. Seems like yesterday and forever at the same time.

We're Crucified with Christ and when Christ was raised from the dead it means we're also alive/new creature in Christ(if the same holy spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is in you, he will give Life into you're bodies the same way) Spiritual ressurection and Physical Resurrection, when raptured happens the dead who believe in Christ will be risen and Will be in heaven with us also who will be raptured. There are signs about the end of the world, people should give their life to Christ so they can be raptured with us(lift up into heaven) and then sadly a tribulation will happen on earth and the anti Christ will sat on a temple and people will take his mark, those who do not take his mark (mark of the beast) will not be a able to buy or sell, and will be killed, those who accepted the mark will be condemned forever
but to us who accepted Christ, we'll be mark with the holy spirit of God. It's better to die for God since he died on the cross for us
then the 2nd coming of Christ will happen and he will defeat the evil and Reign forever

My mom played this a lot when it came out. I was 8 years old. Her father passed 5 months before she gave birth to me.
I’m sorry. I saw the Luther documentary and started balling when this song played. When I was a little girl, my father would put each of my feet on his and we’d dance. He was a hard worker and a good provider but not overly affectionate and so those memories of us dancing together and of him doing the same with my daughter are very special.
I had to come here and listen to this song to help me grieve. My father took his last breath today. Dad, may you be free from the suffering cancer has caused you. Pain, you are no longer in. We’ll meet again….. in another time. ❤️

To not be there to hold his hand and watch him drift off was awful. I'm still in shock and still expect him to walk through the door. I'm so envious of all of you who are posting the memories you've had with your fathers. My father was killed in a car accident when I was 3 years old in 1990 and I have zero recollection of him. I wish I had known him. I wish I knew what kind of laugh he had, what his humour and jokes were like, what kind of friends he kept. All I have to keep his memory alive is two photos sent to me by his brother who lives halfway across the world. You should all count yourselves lucky that you had (or can still have) good experiences and memories with your fathers.

Lost my dad 2 weeks ago so I can relate to this song. He was my best friend, the centre of my universe and my EVERYTHING. Despite being his son he loved me immensely and showed me that every moment of his life. He never was into that macho father BS. My dear grandfather would’ve been 102 today. He passed away from cancer in 2018 when he was 95. He practically raised me and for that I am forever grateful. ❤
My real dad disowned me when I was 10 years old. He just walked up to me and said I'm not your dad anymore and your not my son and walked away forever. But another man who was a nobody to me at the time slowly over the years sort of adopted me and he became my father and my best friend. He was my best man at my wedding and then unfortunately 2 days after he died of cancer. I will always miss him. He already had 3 kids of his own but if you asked him how many kids he had he always said four. This song makes me think of him. If I ever have kids I want them to think of me like this song.
To all the dads out there be there for your children. You will live forever through them and if you do it right you will be king forever. The way you treat your kids is the way they will treat theirs and the way they will treat theirs. Be the change in this world that is so desperately needed.

I am 68 years old. My dad died after a botched attempt to remove a tumor from his brain in 1959 when I was seven years old. My most vivid memory of him was him paralyzed and unable to speak and confined to a wheelchair. I was there when he took his last breath. I still remember my uncle pulling the sheet over his head. There has always been a void in my life. I tried to be the best dad to my two sons but as they became adults I wonder if they even care about me...
Lost my dad two weeks ago, we had a special bond and miss him the world, If I could just get one more minute to tell him how much I miss and love him.
