What an amazing memorial, brought tears to my eyes when you pointed out the names of fallen servicemen labeled on each flag. Such a lovely little town.
Thank you! You explore and look forward to new stuff just like I love to do. Again I am 74 four years old and I totally look forward to your weekly adventure. You both make me smile. The dogs, I miss the cats, are all part of the adventure. I am very glad TJ is your Superhero. Thank you, Rick
I so do miss our A beautiful Brittney Snickers. We had him for 12 years. I look at his pictures and video we have of him and tears fall like a river. I hope to see him over that Rainbow Bridge.
TJ - the REAL superhero, right Bri? Cool stuff in that corner of Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky. That quilt museum has some amazing quilts - thank you as always!!
The memorial with all the flags giving honor to the fallen certainly was incredible and hit my soul! God Bless America! Thank you for sharing! As a former service member I’m so engaged in the sacrifices that were made for our freedoms! 🤙
We are a retired couple and part time RV travelers. We spent about 40 days in the Summer of 2020 traveling to 18 states. We also visited Metropolis, Illinois and Paducah, Kentucky. We spent a lot of time at both the Superman Museum and the National Quilt Museum. My wife is an avid quilter and requested we make the trip to Paducah as part of our trip. I made a donation to the museum in her name and surprised her with her name on the board of donations in the museum. She was very excited to see the portion of your video in the Quilt Museum!!
Thanks for sharing the beautiful memorial. A glance of a part of America that is not promoted enough in our world today. That was an amazing quilt museum as well. There is interesting history in many of the conventional designs.
Great video! Your videos are only getting better and better. Cool to see the quilt museum and it’s a HH. The art on the flood walls was amazing. Looking forward to next week.
Robert Stroud (Birdman of Alcatraz) is buried in Metropolis. There's a great statue of Meriwether Lewis' dog in Paducah, very close to the quilt museum!
Embracing Detours and Grizzly n Bear (follow them) are my two favorite YT channels. This was an AWESOME episode, though I didn’t expect it. love you guys. Travel safe..
I’ve been a fan of your videos for some time, but your depiction of the Veterans’s Day Memorial and the Quilt Museum made this one of my favorites. Thank you, happy travels.
Paducah and the National Quilt Museum is definitely on my bucket list! There is a huge Quilt Show there each April as well. As a quilter, I certainly know the time and effort that is required to put together a beautiful quilt - art or traditional or modern. They are all unique and fabulous! Am working on 2 quilts currently - gifts for family friends. Have fun on your travels.
Had a great time with to wonderful people, you are welcome back anytime, looking forward to seeing you on the road soon. Bandit says tell Brodie and Madley hi.
BTW... The bridge in question in Brookport on Rt 45 over the Ohio was briefly featured in the film US Marshals (1998). Some scenes were filmed out in that area and the blue bridge can be seen briefly.
I can't believe that this is the 2nd time watching this particular video. I live in the Southern part of Illinois only 40 miles from Paducah. Miss seeing you both, hope all is well.
Love seeing your Britney with bandit. Your Springer is identical to ours who passed away at 12 last November. Same previous face AND believe it or not same name. Our Brodie was my therapy dog.
Lincoln, Nebraska is supposed to have a really nice quilting museum. We were in Lincoln for the 2017 Solar Eclipse, but didn't get to the quilting museum.
Really glad I found you, we used to live about 30 miles from Cape in a small town called Anna, IL. Now all the way in Western Iowa. WE RV about 7 months a year my wife job keeps us close but we do travel a lot. I'm disabled so I'd love to go full time but all good things. We do take a couple of longer 2 week trips very Summer so we have our fun. Now in our 5 Rig since our kids were small a beautiful 2012 North Trail 26 FT just for us. At 58 we have 5 Grandkids but wanted that special something for us. It's 12 degrees right now and I'd much rather be someplace warm. Maybe sooner than later. You make great videos!
I am so excited you made it through our neck of the woods in So. Illinois and I am super bummed I missed you! If you ever come back this way please let us know!
My Granddaughter called Superman Super Guy when she was little. She made me take her to see the statue everytime I picked her up at daycare. Hope you all stopped at Fort Massac . They have a campground that is open all year.
Again. Another very very interesting video on your stops along the way to Florida. Thank you for that we're learning a lot information about these towns that you show us.
The Cape had a earth quake in 1812 where the Missippi river flowed north, that was the big event in the Booth heal of Missouri. Hope you got to see the Land between the Lakes near Paducah?
You were in my neck of the woods when you were in Paducah. I used to live up the road a little ways in the adjoining county. I still live in W.Ky but a little further up the road...
Nice! You guys manage to find cool things to see, no matter where you travel. Not sure, but we think we recognized where you may be headed from the last clip. 😉
Another great video! Barbi and I love watching your videos for a variety of reasons. You have a special gift to find out of the way/off the beaten path places and presenting them in such a way that they are compelling and become a must see! One of your other special gifts, one that I struggle with on our videos, is finding "just the right" music to complement the video. Many chose music that seams to compete with what they are depicting on the screen. Keep up the great work, you are one of our very favorite TH-cam creators! Thanks, LarryAndBarbi.
Yes be safe rather then sorry. I worked in trucking. Unfortunately for me an overpass abutment at an airport terminal shaved the right side of my trailer off. Not a good day. Lots of paper work.
Another great video. Love them. You travel like we do...the simple smaller towns and sights are the best!! Are you in Fl now?? Anywhere near Ocala...central Fl?? Write and come visit? Cocktails? For sure.
Another great video this time in places I have visited in my past. Isn’t Cape Girardeau a cool little town? And Barbara loved the quilt museum. Thanks so much for sharing!
Man you guys been going to all the great small towns last couple weeks the quilt museum was really cool I love all the artwork on all those walls another great video you guys take care of yourself and see you next
I learn so very much from your travels and all the unusual places you go...out if the ordinary. Thank you so much!!! Going full time this spring...looking forward to visiting some of your sites.
Good to see videos with travelers going into Missouri. St. Louis has a lot of free attractions to visit. World famous St. Louis zoo, Grant's farm, Forest Park and its museums, The Science Center, and the famous Arch, to name a few.
Hi again! Always fun to see you and what you've chosen to highlight this vid. Really interesting finds! Soo enjoy all the info and pics. Still had no snow back then too! Always look forward to seeing you both again soon. Stay safe and healthy...
Been through Paducah several times in our travels to see grandkids in VA, we’re in Tulsa. Need to stop and explore next time. Thanks for the great information.
I've been enjoying all over you videos and all the detailed info on the places you have visited. Some of them I have lived there or been through and learned from you adventures. Thanks and be safe. Look forward to the next one.
You mentioned something that stabilizes your rig as you tow. . We have a class B and don't need one, but our son just bought a trailer. Could you tell me what you have. Thank you. We enjoy your channel which we recently discovered.
Oh boy - your friend’s dog 😂 reminded me of the dog I have now. I had to type this before I forgot it so there will most likely be another comment from me 😆
I know you guys rely on visitors centers quite a bit to get to know an area and it seems you find some awesome, unusual and interesting places to go! What other resources do you use? As we are in New England, it was fun to see things closer to home that we could hit up on a 10 day get away! Thanks!
We are thinking of staying at the quilt museum this summer! I love looking at all of the quilts. I haven’t been in Paducah since 2001 so I’m looking forward to going back. Thanks for sharing the video of the town. Was the farmers market on the day you were there?
Glad you liked Missouri, their so much to see here, really like all the places y'all have shared with us, it's nice to know about them and hope to see a few ourselves. My cousin and her husband are in Florida right now, their from Reno and I'm sure loving the weather, wish we were there too, it's 20 degrees here in south central Missouri 🥶🥶
So you missed the "Absolutely NO Photography" on the front door to the Quilt Museum? I went there, and saw the sign and left. There are several quilt shops in town and I went to one of them and commented about the no photography rule and just got a comment about how high in the air they had their noses.......
Flash photography includes ultraviolet light that WILL fade dies and sometimes even pigments. Sadly, some people are too stupid to know the difference between available light and flash photography, so the rest pay the price. In addition, all artwork is protected by copyright law. It can be a lot of work to get people to understand that they are required by law to protect the copyright on pieces loaned to them, and can find themselves in legal hot water. I have been to museums that allowed photography for the pieces they owned, but not the ones on loan, but those were large museums with access to armies of volunteers that could make sure 1) All the pieces were correctly labeled, and 2) Everyone that pulled out a camera knew how to read the labels. It can come across as highfalutin' but it's actually self defense.
Good move turning around at the bridge. We had friends put an "unwanted skylight" in their Airstream when a bridge removed their air conditioner. BTW, I'd go with TJ versus the internet. My manual says 9'6"...
Great video. I guess you got super lucky or the museum changed their policy. Another TH-camr got scolded then harassed about filming in there. They tried to force him to delete it.
Wonder that they haven’t had to remove that statute...”Truth, Justice and the American Way”. You should stop at Fort Campbell as you head South; then Nashville awaits.
The next time you're in Metropolis (ya, right!), go a few blocks further and in a small park you will see a statue of Lois Lane. That's only fair, right? She must have been created in the days of inequality, as she is small compared to Superman. Still, she got at least an honorable mention.
What an amazing memorial, brought tears to my eyes when you pointed out the names of fallen servicemen labeled on each flag. Such a lovely little town.
Thank you! You explore and look forward to new stuff just like I love to do.

Quilting is definitely a work of art.. And a labor of love!
Nice job of making this video

Y'all are killing those videos! The music when you were walking along the wall was perfect.
My husband's family is from Paducah so I enjoyed this, especially the quilt museum. Thanks
Wow - the memorial, the museum, the town. I loved this video!
Embracing Detours and Grizzly n Bear (follow them) are my two favorite YT channels. This was an AWESOME episode, though I didn’t expect it. love you guys. Travel safe..

Madley and Brody looked at Bandit like "what the heck is wrong with that young'un".
Bandit was SO happy to see you,to have company visit!! Such a precious loving dog!! So cute! And your sweet dogs are precious too!
An awesome veterans memorial...thanks for showing it. As always, you two find the quirky but interesting things to see.
Love the history that you provide in your videos! Thank you!

praise their efforts 🇺🇸🏁

They had every kind of quilt known to man? Now that's a blanket statement. :D
So cool you guys take time to explore the areas you visit. We should all take more time to soak it in.
Lincoln, Nebraska is supposed to have a really nice quilting museum. We were in Lincoln for the 2017 Solar Eclipse, but didn't get to the quilting museum.
Your videos are always so thoughtful. I really enjoy them. Safe travels and stay healthy!

I never would've thought so many odd museums were out there to see, I'll have to start looking for them, thanks
